WOW! Great entertainment for all ages - and it's cheaper than seeing a movie! Every show is different yet it's always family-friendly. And it's an intimate setting where you can actually be connect with the experience.
We bring out-of-town guests so they can enjoy their own "Whose Line Is It Anyway" experience.
You can even go bowling before/afterwards.
$10 for an entire evening of entertainment in Orange County???? Must be a joke! (no pun in intended) Â no drink minimum like all other comedy shows so you're really just paying for entertainment.
My BF's co worker invited us to join them on a saturday night to this comedy event, and although I had never heard of it before, I wanted to try something different in orange county. Â i was a little skeptical at first, i mean a family friendly "clean" comedy? how fun can THAT be? well, it was actually a whole lot of fun, i mean, it's not like no alcohol allowed! Â ;)
for an easy and quick process, buy your tickets online so when you arrive, they just check you off the list, stamp your hand and walk in. shows are at 8PM and 10PM, arrive early, hit up the bowling alley bar downstairs for pre drinks. there is a 5-7 minute intermission (which isn't very long), so get your drink on before the show. you can buy the drinks and bring them up to the show too. Â some reviews say there is waitress to take drink/food orders....but that definitely didn't happen the night we were here. we had to grab our own drinks. cocktails and beer run about $5-7 each.
there are about 4 rows of 10 seats on each side of the room, so not a very big place so every seat is a good seat. i was really impressed by the talent of the comedians, i mean, to come up with things off the top of your head is not easy to do. some were funnier than others but overall a really good group of entertainers! they really get the audience participation which is really fun. if you're shy and worry about getting picked on, not to worry, they don't do that here. remember, this is a family friendly show.
we were fortunate to have seen both shows on this night because they are running a june special, 2 shows for the price of 1. what a great deal and perfect for an awesome saturday night with friends! afterwards, go downstairs to the bowling alley and have more drinks or even do some cosmic bowling if you want the fun night to continue.
Improv City was amazing. I love to laugh and I love improv. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great time and great laughs. Lots of games and even an extra game at the end. Everyone was extremely talented and gave a great show. My date was skeptical when we entered the show, but within minutes she was laughing out loud and my date was a great success. Thank you Improv City!
Review Source:Top shelf improv-comedy show; casual atmosphere: a great combination! Â I cannot believe this talent-packed show is only $10!
We arrived just before 7:30, and had our pick of seats- front row of course! By 8pm, the place was packed- a full house. Â The show began as a high energy host charged in and got the crowd pumped! Â Then the crew came in- all bringing talent and skill to the show. Â The games and skits and scenes were very fun and funny! Â The show moved at a great pace, and they even added an extra game just before the end.
We will definitely return for another great night of improv!! Â Thanks guys!
If you like to laugh, you'll like Improv City. If you haven't been to a Improv City show yet, go now! Â Great for date night or going with friends - it's hilarious and something different to do on a Friday (or Saturday) night. and at the reasonable/affordable price of $10, you can't go wrong for a couple hours of great entertainment.
We've taken 8 of our friends already and they all had a great time. My mom is already planning on doing a "girls night" with her girlfriends and taking all of them and our other friend is going to hire them for their company party. We've gone to 5 shows and haven't been disappointed once.
Support Improv City! With so many comedians defaulting to crass and dirty humor, it's nice to see some comedians going against all that. Orange County needs more family friendly entertainment like these guys! Which just goes to show you can be funny and have a great show without having to add in a dirty reference.
I am always looking for something NEW to do with the kids after dinner & tonight I was blown away by how quick, Â funny & creative this comedy troupe really is! Â Both my 10 & 13 year old loved it...& want to bring their friends next time. Â Who knew totally clean comedy could be so great. Â A much better way to spend a Fri or Sat night...we laughed all the way home!
Review Source:Improv City is awesome. Cheap, $10 entertainment on a Friday or Saturday night. Small, intimate room with around 3 rows of seating, so you can really get to interact with the performers. It's helpful to come up with suggestions before you go that you'd like to see performed (like outrageous things or weird animals). Then you really get to make it the show you want to see.
Go Lee with Blacksmiths and Juliette with Nuclear Physicists!
This was my very first improv experience and I will return to this place time and time again. Â The group was absolutely hilarious, great interaction with the crowd, and extremely inexpensive for this type of fun. Â Great for all age groups. Â If you are looking for something to make you laugh so hard you cry, this is the place for you! I am officially known as Gilgamesh due to this wonderful crew. Fun time for a friday/saturday night.
Review Source:Great family fun on a Friday or Saturday night. Â Relatively small room with great audience participation. Â Very impressive group with Improv. Â They ask for audience input on topics and the cast members do a great job of acting out skits on the fly. Â Very funny and entertaining. Â Can't beat the $10 price for a good laugh on a Friday or Saturday night.
Review Source:I'll admit I had my expectations really low. Irvine? Above a bowling ally? Yeah, that'll be great. But a group of us were going so I joined in.
It was hilarious! Laugh out loud, hyperventilating hilarious at times. We'll definitely go back again, especially when it's just $10 and you don't have to buy any food or drink (though a waitress does come around.) They say it's a clean show, though ours got pretty suggestive, which I'm fine with.
The performers were good on their toes, duh, and were funny.
I can't believe I hadn't heard of this place before. It's great that it's so close, we thought we'd have to go into LA for good improv.
I've been twice, once just my girlfriend and I and once with about 5 other people. Â Everyone that has gone with me loves it and we are making plans to go back. The show involves the audience a lot so every show is different and every show is fun. Â $10 admission, a waitress will bring cheap drinks from the bowling alley that is adjacent, it really is a lot of fun. Â It is a clean show (sometimes there will be kids there, sometimes not), and I honestly like dirty comedy, but the show is so fun because you are involved in it and the cast is very good.
Review Source:Last night my honey and I went to the Improv Comedy Show at the Back Bay Center.  There were 7 artists who preformed and a crowd of about 20.  Let me just say if you weren't spending your Saturday night busting a gut in laughter and having the time of your life...well then you were really missing the boat.  For a whopping $10. buck we enjoyed a action packed, hilarious all out show.  I can't get over how much engagement was brought forth by this troupe.  Devin the director really knows his stuff and this "clean" family show  is a must see by all!  My guess standing room only if people knew.  Go see it, you will love it!
Review Source:Funny, clean, inspired cast. Â It was really refreshing to be able to take the whole family to ImprovCity performances. Â We've seen these guys three other times, all very original and fresh routines.
So happy with their performance we hired them for daughter's 15th birthday. Â They were a hit!!!!!
Highly recommend these guys to anyone willing to participate and have fun.
I'm a fan. When you think there is nothing funny that can come of a situation one of these quick thinking, incredibly funny people surprise you. at one show  a young man was able to make up a song on the spot about pastries and plumbing. Not funny you say? You had to be there. For $10 and you can take your little ones and your parents or grand parents too? you can't beat the price.
Review Source:By far, this is the best improv group in the area, if not So Cal as a whole. These guys are a great team and are consistently funny.
The shows are clean, no cussing, no inappropriate material, etc. which is a breath of fresh air in and of itself. The troupe members are really top notch and the comedy is great!
I'm a big fan of ImprovCity and I try to catch a show as often as I can, and I'm never disappointed when I do.
