Was visiting some friends in the McKinley neighborhood and Inos was recommended. Â The BEST fish tacos I have ever had! Â Thick and fresh tilapia fillets seared with just the right amount of spices. Â If only I lived in Chicago I'd be eating there every week! Â Oh and with a bowl of chips and huge bowl of pico de gallo all came to under $6.00!
Review Source:The sign outside says, "Authentic Mexican Food." Â The only thing that's authentic is the food poisoning that my wife and I experienced from this place. Â I should have known better...I've lived within walking distance to Ino's for a long time but have rarely gone there because I've known that the food is terrible since I was a kid. Â However, Friday at 1 in the morning, I was hungry and desperation set in. Â I found myself at Ino's ordering the steak nachos. Â I knew better than to expect the food to be good and it wasn't. Â However, I did not expect the 2 days of stomach issues that we experienced from splitting one order of nachos. Â The people who give this place positive reviews fall into two categories: Category A. They are thankful to find any place that would serve them a burrito at 1 in the morning. Â Category B. Â The old faithfuls who had their first taste of Mexican food at Ino's and refuse to try any of the other nearby places that are significantly better. Â Many Category B. people are nostalgic about their experiences from when they were Category A. people. Â Sorry Ino's. Â I know you're a neighborhood stalwart and you have your supporters, but your food is worse than Taco Bell and it literally makes me sick.
Review Source:Went here a LOOOONG time ago, before I was Yelping and I had to review! Small and tiny on prices but not on flavor. I remember this was the first place that I had EVER had a taco or burrito from that wasn't Taco Bell. The steak was excellent. If I am ever in the neighborhood again...I WILL BE BACK!
Review Source:I've only had the bear burrito and a milanesa torta...but WOW! it was delicious! and even a few hours later (HUGE burrito, couldnt finish between 2 ppl)...the taste was just yum!
the meat had so much flavor!! the seasoning...everything was just perfect! and they put extra avocado (or is that the norm here? i dunno, but i loved it!)
will be back to try more items on the menu!
I had plans to help decorate my friend's apt for Christmas and to order in for dinner. She recommended Ino's when we were having trouble deciding on somewhere casual and close to eat. I've never heard or been here before, considering I live close by.
I'm a veggie, and she mentioned that the veggie burrito is good, as well as i read some good reviews on here. I'm usually not a huge fan of burritos since they are huge and too filling for me, as well I'm not a huge fan of flour tortilla.
I thought to give it a try, and it's actually one of the better burritos I've had. They stuffed it with so much rice mmmmmm I'm a carb addict, and guac and of course veggies. I love that the flour was not super thick like others, where I can taste it. which is why i do not like flour tortillas. It was thin, and surprisingly when I cut it in half, most of the filling did not fall out. They packed it pretty good. It was quite yummy!
First off i am a vegetarian so i get there veggie burrito. Honestly the best veggie burrito ever and its huge! I have tried many veggie burritos from other places and they are crap some are the size of tacos and others are just stuffed with alvacado which is just nasty. My Gf also loves this place shes in love with there chicken torta and wants one like everyday.
There agua de horchata are tasty too.The prices are crazy cheap too for such a amount of food.
I've been wanting to try this place out. Finally went here yesterday.
They give you chips and pico de gallo. I originally thought it looked dry, but it was tasty. I actually liked the chips.
I ended up getting the bear burrito. Steak, lettuce, tomato, avocado and sour cream. I don't like cheese and beans. This thing was massive. For about $6.00, it's a deal! Well, I loved that the tortilla had this light crispiness to it. The steak however didn't have much flavor. I tried the green sauce and that was flavorful and had a kick to it. The red sauce was ok, but not as good as the green sauce.
My guy had the beef soup and he said it was good. Can't go wrong with that.
I normally don't think horchata and decided to try it. I'm not a big fan. It tastes like cinnamon to me. My guy said it wasn't as sweet as other places.
I love how they had a banner with a recession deal!
Small place. Great prices for the amount of food. Definitely would come back to try other things out.
I had a steak, a chicken , and a barbacoa taco. They were ok. They just weren't all that tasty. The green hot sauce is very tasty and has a nice burn.
The choice for cheese was between American and "white". No big deal.
I like that they were open at 10:45pm on Friday. I also like the fact that I can walk there in five minutes.
The price of $1.95 per taco with cheese was A-OK. Three tacos and I was pretty stuffed. I actually bought six and could not fit another one down. Good food for the price.
Sometimes after work I come home and began to hit the bottle fairly hard and before I know it I am half drunk with an empty stomach.  That's when I take a 5 minute stroll over to Ino's.  I'll admit it's not the best Mexican food, I've had but, it's certainly not the worst, and in fact quite far from it.  I personally abstain from burritos but this seems to be their specialty.  I am always sucker for their steak taco's though.  They chock them full of skirt steak and onions and cilantro add some green hot sauce  and lime and you're top of the world.  Hard to top it off, but I always find their Horchata to be perfect accompnimet  to be very tasty while not being sickening sweet. Their service is run of the mill but still courteous and thorough.  I always will be a sucker for Ino's food even if it ends up on the pavement somewhere later in the night.
Review Source:i just started going to this place recently. Been here twice so far. It's pretty good Mexican food on the cheap too. I had the steak burritos as well as the steak tacos before. Both very good, and packed with meat. I never seen a taco this packed anywhere else. They also got some very good chips and a awesome salsa free if your dining in. It has about 2-3 tables. Theres not really an atmosphere, its just a quick carry out place. Don't let the look of the place fool you though, it's good stuff/
Review Source:I have to say that the Chicken and Steak Bear Burritos are quite tasty (though I skip the cheese and always ask for extra onion and cilantro to give it a tad bit more yumminess). Â They truly do give you value for the money. Â
I love the large (super-sized) Horchata without ice. Â It's such a great treat. Â
The pico de gallo is very yummy - heavy citrus leanings, though... which can be quite hazardous to my health late at night. Â The chips can be very, very greasy...to the point of not being enjoyable...that is one thing I would like to see changed. Â However, when eaten with guac, you can easily forget that. Â
Regarding the staff...they are usually pretty cool. Â Though I am half Mexican, I don't speak any Spanish and...it got frustrating a couple of times but I now know everyone and they get it right 99.9% of the time.
A good yummy meal...
Is being able to be a fatass on a shoestring ever a good thing? I'm talking $3, $4 burritos the size of your arm and about as heavy, full of refried frijole goodness. They got Chipotle beat and no mistake. You might need to know about 5 or so words of Spanish, depending on who's manning the place. Â Generally a good sign as far as food authenticity is concerned.
