Great Pub, great Irish music, and fried pickles.

    I love this place!

Our first trip to The Snug, and certainly won't be our last.

We had Happy Hour apps including the Corned Beef rolls and Fish Tacos (both really tasty).  I had the fish and chips (delicious. tender, cooked perfectly, and only really lacking a little salt) and m'lady had the salmon with mango chutney (also cooked perfectly and sublime).

Stone IPA on draft, an excellent selection of beers, live Irish Music until 7pm (we were there on a Sunday before a concert at the Ogden), and excellent service (thank you, Emily).  It was busy but not crowded, there were a variety of soccer and other sports on the unobtrusive televisions, and the atmosphere was comfy.

Finished our meal with a Nutty Irishman, and off we went.  We are definitely looking forward to a future visit to this establishment.

Good Beer and a very solid whiskey selection. Food was also pretty good. Pretty straightforward Irish pub atmosphere, although they loose points for throwing on Kesha at 10pm on a Sunday night.

I came here for Geeks Who Drink and fell in love with the place immediately. The place is giant, the pub quiz is in the basement, and there are a ton of beers on tap. They have decent drink specials and a friendly wait staff. The competition was fierce, but still a lot of fun. I highly recommend checking it out sometime

So I'm torn.  The BF and I have LOVED this place for a while.

However in our last trip, we were wishing for our amazing server from this summer, and were informed that the best appetizer on the menu, the bleu cheese garlic dip, has been discontinued from the menu.  "It's available at our other restaurants, but not here anymore."  I'm"m sorry, WHA?  That and the 2-for-1's on happy hour are what keep us coming back!

Our server this past weekend was shoddy, and it wasn't super busy yet either.  Snug...you're losing your luster!

Great Irish food and beers, okay service. Defiantly reminds me of pubs in Ireland.

Went to Irish Snug today for happy hour, which is awesome! 2 for 1 Agave Wheat beer is a great deal. Plus they have great other 2 for 1 offers on other drinks as well, plus food specials. I got a side caesar salad plus a side of fries. I do this type of combo normally when I am at bars, and this was the best I've ever had! The side caesar had fresh shaved parmesean! What bars have that?! Plus the side salad was plentiful! The french fries were really good! My boyfriend had the french dip which was also very good. I recommend this place for good food, to watch a good game, meet great people, good service, and late night here is also great. Overall this place on Colfax has it in the bag! PS-The basement there is where it's at. Check it out.

If you dislike the Irish, probably not your scene.  If, however, you have been known to drink a shot of Paddy's and dance an Irish jig from time to time, this place will feel like a second home.

There is often live music, and it's that foot tappin', whisky swillin' Irish folk music that just seems to warm the cockles.  Good place to stop in for a cocktail with friends!

This place is awesome. The decor is great, the selection of drinks is awesome, and the service is always good. It is the perfect chill spot for any football game or social outing. Also, they have a really good happy hour.

Every time I go here, I expect mediocrity, and am always pleasantly surprised. I've been enough times now that you'd think I would remember that I like it, but I rarely do until someone coaxes me into going.

To start, they have surprisingly good dinner/lunch food. The curry is DELICIOUS. I've had some pretty good brunches there too (although steer clear of the biscuits with gravy, they were pretty dry), and their bottomless mimosas are obviously great.

Although I guess the stand-out feature of this place has to be the atmosphere. In the summer, both their patios are great spots to drink away a Sunday afternoon. The inside is larger than it looks with a HUGE downstairs area with plush seating. They also have some very entertaining events throughout the week, from the standard trivia night to an Irish sing-a-long where the band handed out songbooks to the bar.

If you haven't been, you're missing out.

This might be one of the best bars to go to for NFL Sundays. Why? $9 bottomless mimosas!

Actually, theres a few other reasons too.. this place is HUGE. There are a few rooms upstairs and then there is a giant downstairs area. There are tons of tables and TVs. They show every game, sometimes on multiple TVs. Its great to come here and meet up with fellow fans and cheer on my team! I know there are alot of bars in the city dedicated to certain teams..while those are fun I think the Snug is more fun because I can keep an eye on multiple games at once and chat up other teams fans.

And then theres the food..they have some typical bar food but they also have amazing irish pub style food too...and for those early games some awesome brunch food. In the afternoon (once the bottomless mimosas end) they have another happy hour with cheap beer and appetizers. The sliders are one of my favorites to get. I havent had any problems with service..even for bottomless mimosas they would come by with refills pretty quickly.

Oh yeah... GO COLTS!! (and I guess Broncos now too since Manning is with them haha)

I swung in after a long long hiatus to have an apre work drink. I forgot that they have a late night bar menu...plus! My expensive vodka drink was very affordable. Nice atmosphere and staff, too

Went on a wednesday night, and had a good time.
The band was pretty cool, and I liked that there were quite a few people dancing. I was eating, so I missed out on that, but they looked like they were having fun.

They have good beers, and good drinks on happy hour. The happy hour food (the late one, they have two different happy hours depending on the time) was good.

I've been there for bingo as well. It's a great time. Laid back, good for hanging out with friends and drinking. The guy who does the bingo is funny, and they have good prizes (including a cash prize for the last round, if I'm not mistaken...)

I also appreciate how they have two floors. Upstairs they have more of a pub ambiance, and downstairs they have a big bar, some couches, tvs...it's nice!

    I'll happily go back.

We waited, and waited, and waited...the bartender looked us in the eyes twice, and then started channel surfing on the television.

    No service, no love.

In Denver on business and walked across the street from the Ramada Downtown on a recommendation from Adam at the front desk. It was Monday night and at the end of Happy Hour, a very decent crowd. I was quickley greeted and seated. The Happy Hour Menu has an impressive selection of brews and food. I ordered a Guniness and the Mushroom - Swiss Cheese Burger, it was excellent with a hill of fries. Lots of TV's for Monday night football and good loud rock blaring, the locals seemed to all be having a very good time.

At 10PM on a Wednesday night, my colleagues and I had last minute preparations to do. What better place to meet up than a pub that has a long list of Belgium beers?

In all seriousness, do not go here if you're planning to work. The pub is lively and friendly, great music playing all night long.

The menu provided traditional Irish favorites- corned beef and hash, deep fried this and that. We ordered the mashed potatoes and corned beef alongside cheese fries- enough to give each of us a coronary attack. I mean these plates were DRENCHED in oil. Their attempt to stay true to the Irish failed and all the American tastes seeped through these dishes.

Not to be a Debbie downer. We enjoyed the ambiance, the environment, and the service. To an extent, the food tasted good. The oil was just overwhelming and the plate itself was not of quality.

I'd come back for the beers, though!

It took a while for the Snug to grow on me but now that it has, yeah, I'm a fan.  It's fairly commercial as Irish pubs go; the staff never stick out to me one way or another so no matter how often I go, I never really feel like there is a "regulars" culture. So I wouldn't go there to talk with new people but with a big group of friends its a good way to spend an evening.

That being said, there is a lot to like.  Both the early and late happy hours have good food specials and two for one drinks.  Try the pot stickers or the potato skins but really really try the chicken curry on the dinner menu.

While the upstairs seems a little small, downstairs has plenty of space including both tables and couches.  There is a pretty active calendar of regular events including bingo, trivia and a running group. There are two outdoor patios, one that is dog friendly.

Stopped in to get a drink and some food. We had appetizers: pot stickers and the late night burgers(comes with 2 burgers). Can't remember what they were called. Anyways, all was fantastic and our waitress was friendly too!

Someone always "wins" a free happy hour.  Just drop your card in the bowl and get ready to bring friends for some free food and good priced drinks.
We drove up to meet our friends and were greeted promptly and with genuine friendliness. I was, at that time, on crutches and the manager came and helped me with the elevator to get to the basement.
This place is very similar to Maggie Smith's on Arapahoe (a place we love to visit as it is closer to home/work).  Same menu, beers, owners?
I don't know if I will come back here as it is not a real destination place, but if you are in the neighborhood, stop by.   Just make sure it is during Happy Hour.

Irish Snug came to the rescue after day drinking along Colfax. It was to the point that it was either get food or call it a day and pass out (I had to meet another friend that night for more drinking so passing out was NOT an option!)

Anyway, I was a good boy and did NOT drink (even though it was 2-for-1 which was SO tempting) Anyway, Bleu Cheese dip and a bacon cheeseburger saved the day. Kettle chips seem to be VERY popular in Colorado but you'll get no complaints from me.

The food was really good so I have no complaints. The inside is REALLY nicely done: open and airy. We sat on the patio so there's lot's of potential to get up close and personal with the locals walk by......it's Colfax so beware!

The location is perfect because if you're doing the Colfax drinking trail, it's located RIGHT at that stage we're you're about to pass the point of no return and is a good place to stop, chill out and take a breather.

The happy hour specials were really affordable.  I enjoyed the beer, but the mixed drink I had was rather poorly made.  The french fries were quite good.  They are especially enjoyable if you get the curry gravy in which to dip them.  I liked how they did the pot stickers in a crispy style, and they had good flavor.  My corned beef sliders were a little on the dry side, and could have used more meaty essence.  I like the atmosphere.  Our service was very good.

    I'll keep mine simple:

5 Stars for Buffalo Cheese Fries...drool just thinking about these. Sounds gross, but oh so good!

1 star for that awful patty melt I had. Not sure if maybe I'm just not a patty melt kind of gal or it was just awful.

3 star for service: I mean we were an entire kickball team all at once, but since there wasn't many other people I was expecting a bit better. I asked her if anyone else ordered food yet and she said no, so...when everyone's food came and I had yet to order yha that was  a bit sad.

Will I be back? For sure, b/c those fries are what dreams are made of.

$6 Moscow mule in a copper mug?  Hell yeah.  Cucumber infused vodka that's flavorful and well balanced?  Check.

    Very affordable, well made cocktails.

We wandered in at the end of a night on Colfax, and ended up "Under The Snug" in the basement.  We found a dimly lit (just our style) corner booth aside some exposed brick and snugged in.

Enjoyed our drinks while they kept the old school rap playing (think Dre, 2Pac, Biggie) and left us alone.

Definitely a chill spot to get a late night drink and relax in a cozy, fun atmosphere.

I really have like this place over the past year , was a place you could always count on the food to be very good.  Sadly something has changed beginning a couple of months ago.   Obviously they must have lost the service of a key person in the kitchen.
After my last 4 visits there I have had to make the decision to remove the Snug from my go to list of places for really good food.  The kitchen is simply not putting out the great food as before. Maybe someone decided to move on but for whatever reason the quality of the dishes served took a distinct nose dive.

And this is not something I write lightly or just because of one visit or just my opinion but over at least four visits with another Sung semi regular and we are in agreement on this.

The Snug has fallen into a familiar Denver pattern. A once very good establishment that is now not that good but will live off it's former reputation.. (aka Steubens) or until management rectifies the situation.. if they do.

Of course the bar is still very good...  but for me that is not whats going to bring me back.

First experience at the Snug = aaamazing!! We stopped in for my birthday and we snagged a private room. The front door staff could not have been more friendly, the food was great (get the corned beef egg rolls!), the music was super-fun, and our server Addie (whoop whoop!) was incredibly friendly and efficient! The bartender messed up a drink order and Addie-to-the-rescue brought/bought us a round of Birthday Cake shots...ahhhhthankyou...Great time had by all!

Wow, Colfax sure has changed in the last 10 years.  This bar is so clean and presentable that it belongs in the safety of the burbs, not in the 1200 block of Colfax!

The place was hopping on a Thursday night, couldn't get seats out on the patio so we had to schlep it inside, where it was loud and the music was questionable.  We had to scream, I mean scream to hear each other.  But the service was very quick  and friendly and the Moscow Mules were great.

The funny thing about the Snug for me is there are so many things I love about it and so many things that drive me bonkers enough to think "Why do I come here?"

    Things I love:
    1. Great Patio - Doggies can be on the other side of the fence and they will bring them water
    2. Mimosa Stands - They provide the big crafts of Mimosas for the table.  You have a friend put a straw in their mimosa and begin to drink while you begin to pour more mimosa into their glass - drink until you have had enough then see how wild your Sunday (or Saturday) is about to get!
    3. I love Irish pubs
    4. Pretty damn good HH specials
    5. They have a running club - I just need to start attending...oops

    Things That Drive Me Bonkers:
    1. Spotty Service
    2. To order Bottomless Mimosas ($9) you have to order something to eat from their breakfast menu - none of which is vegan
    3. Smokey Patio
    4. Unless we are in HH the prices are a little high for colfax
    5. Parking is a nightmare

We have been here twice. Both times service was excellent. The patio on Colfax is very popular. While nice also noisy at rush hour, only real negative. There happy hour beers are good, 2 for one. Nicest though is if do not drink second beer the coupon is good for next visit.

The meal was very good. My companion had the Friday special and I the cheeseburger. Both were good. The cheeseburger had a fire grilled taste. We will try again when in the  area.

After work... friendly servers, cram-packed, rowdy with great food.

Get the Garlic Blue Cheese dip.

It comes with waffle fries or chips. I got the waffle fries, which ARE delicious, but so filling I wished I would have gotten the chips. It was so good, I 'm trying to talk myself out of spending an hour in my car to get it "to go" for my lunch. I've heard the rest of their food is fantastic too...but I don't know if I will ever try anything else.

Hands down, my favorite place to hang out in Denver!  The service is awesome, I never have to wait long for a drink.  Amanda, Madison, Stevie, Justin, Claire, Allison, Laurel, Will, Frank, and yes, even Eric (and everyone else I didn't name), are all full of awesome!  We have had several parties/events at the Snug that we will never forget thanks to the killer service and accommodations.
Their happy hour rocks and the Snug has one of the best people watching patios on Colfax!  Oh and the corned beef egg rolls?  YES PLEASE!

I am a fan of the snug.  The food is great pub food.  The beer selection is descent.  There are a lot of TV's and it is a large place which makes it fun to watch your favorite sports games.
HAPPY HOUR! HAPPY HOUR! HAPPY HOUR!  2 for 1 well drinks and select drafts 3pm-7pm EVERY DAY!  I'm so happy!!  They also have excellent happy hour food selections.
The service is hit or miss.  I have had excellent service and I have had the worst experience of my dining career.  A short chubby blonde waitress threw a dollar bill at my friend.  My friend, a paying patron, asked about a charge on his bill.  When she dropped off his credit card receipt, she actually threw a dollar bill at him.  Who does that?

What I had?  Shepherd's Pie (Beef, carrots, onions and celery simmered in a dark brown gravy, topped with mashed potatoes and served hot from the oven, comes with a side salad and dinner roll)

Food review:  So, I ordered the shepherd's pie and shortly after doing so I totally forgot that the snug is the big sister bar of Slattery's Irish Pub in the DTC which I've been to.  I've had the shepherd's pie there and remembered it was enjoyable but just OK for the most part.  So I crossed my fingers that maybe this one would be different annnnd... I think it was about the same.  It's not bad sheperd's pie but just average.  The secret to making good sheperd's pie to me is in the brown gravy and how it's prepared.  Snug's, once again, was just ok tasting.

    Service?  No complaints

    Love this place.
Reason #1: Great pub atmosphere.  It's so cozy and laid back.  A good place to people watch and grab a beer.  It reminds me of pub-hopping in Dublin.  Hard wood floors, mix-matched tables and bar stools, forest green walls, and comfy couches in the basement.
Reason #2: the food.  The fish and chips is not greasy, and it's cod (which is my favorite).  I also love the corned beef.  True American-Irish fare, delish!
Reason #3: Life music.  From what I've seen it's Irish Folk music, which isn't exactly my thing, but it's nice to switch it up every once and a while.
Reason #4: don't want a pub atmosphere?  Go during the day.  The Irish Snug is not just a pub, it's a great restaurant with good food to boot.  No loud music to shout over.
Reason #5: good service.  I've been here on super busy days and they always serve in a timely manner, even if they have a million tables.

I've actually attempted to go to the Irish Snug on multiple occasions. But, parking is so perpertually impossible here that I drive around for 45min, then give up and go home. With great determination, I found parking once for a MeetInDenver Happy Hour, here.

The patty melt was good. The beer selection is pretty decent. Service was ok. The building itself is pretty cool. But, the place is just absolutely packed. Their running club alone took up the entire downstairs.

Between the parking and the noise, I can't imagine I'll ever be back. There just isn't anything good or interesting enough here to make it worth the hassle. There are so many other good, Irish pubs in this town, no need to put this one on your list.

Went here for dinner last Friday night. The ambiance is casual and light. It was a busy Friday evening crowd, and we sat at the bar as it was easiest, and generally guarantees quick service! Indeed it did. Started out with pot stickers -  they certainly passed muster, although I'm not sure I've ever had bad ones, anywhere. For dinner, we had the Shepard's Pie and a Grilled Salmon Sandwich, they were both delicious! The salmon was grilled perfectly, medium as suggested by the bartender. My other half raved about the pie...needless to say we'll be back!

    Oh my.

The corned beef and cabbage was delicious and the Guinness was creamy and thick.

But the appetizer I got was other-worldy. Bleu cheese, bacon, and garlic dip. Warm and amazing. Each scoop on the chip turned my toenails to jelly.
