  J. P. Greer's - Our local, go to place, has spent a few bucks on the building; The Pergo style flooring, LED dimmable lighting and new cushions for the back wall bench.  The food is great, as always, with pizzas, pub grub, great blackboard specials, fish, and interesting comfort food soups.  Gino slaves in the kitchen while Julie, Colleen, Jen & Wendy bust their asses waiting on us.  The juke box just got new speakers (one speaker STILL not working, they have Keno and other lottery crap if that is your style and they've added at least three new flat screen TVs.  The beer is cold, the drinks are generous and reasonably priced and the place has a mix of people; hard workers, blue collar, bikers, retirees and a tie and/or a suit once in awhile.  Be nice is the karma, come and enjoy yourself.

  I come here once in a while for lunch with my coworkers.  We call our orders in and when we arrive, everything is served immediately and with a smile!  The staff is great and always very friendly, not to mention prompt!  JP's definitely has that local feel.
  
  I usually opt for their burger or fish and chips plate.  Honestly, not much to say except the portions are plentiful and a decent bang for your buck.  I can tell they change the oil in their fryolator often as their fries and fish are always lightly fried.  
  
  As far as the ambiance... what can you say its one of the local taps.  You go there for cold beer and decent pub grub.  My reason for going back often for lunch is their consistency, quiet atmosphere and friendly staff.

  The review from 1/8/2009 must be from an employee or owner.
  My understanding is that this place has known drug issues. Its obvious when you see the 'working class' patrons, or regulars as I call them.
  I've witnessed 2 fights and 1 puking incident in this place. In my estimation this joint is a circus and borderline unsafe. The food is trash, the bathrooms are typical for a dive. The bathroom sink however, was sparkling, Coke heads keep it clean.  
  Not a place for kids, ever.
  
  Why do I go?   the beer is cold.
