Japonais Restaurant

Went to Japonais for restaurant week. The wait was expected per the reviews and we were sent downstairs for over a half hour wait. It wasn't too bad though and the food was worth it. Really good food and atmosphere all around.

This place is pretty amazing and is a fun place to go if you don't mind being around some of the more flashy Chicagoans.  This place has great food and equally good service.  The rock is a lot of fun to eat and is a very creative concept for an appetizer.  The sushi was really fresh and the tuna tuna salmon roll is about as good as it gets.  This is a place to go to really enjoy yourself with friends!

While the service and food were above reproach there was just nothing that blew me away about the restaurant.  I guess I was expecting something from all of the hype that I have heard about the restaurant.  I guess I may have to try this place again but not until after I try some other sushi restaurants in town.
