I came to Paris Club with my boyfriend on a Saturday evening. Â The signage for this place is not very clear & we literally walked past! Â We waited over a 1/2 hr with a reservation. Â I was trying to be polite and not complain, but I knew something was wrong when I heard people with later reservation times being sat before us. Â It was clear our name was skipped over or something because once I went up to the host stand we were then immediately shown in. Â It was a bit annoying that the mistake was not acknowledged by the staff.
Once we sat down we were greeted by a friendly server. Â She gave us suggestions for appetizers and answer our questions about certain items on the menu. Â The pretzels croissants were a unique twist and very delicious!! Â I ordered the scallops with a side of frites- both had great flavor. Â My boyfriend ordered the short rib with a side of mashed potatoes- the mashed potatoes were kind of bland. Â For dessert we shared vanilla gellato (can never go wrong with that). Â Overall it was just A-OK & I am still on the fence if I would come back.
Our most recent experience at Paris Club is a testament to LEYE's empire- for the impressive ambience, wonderful food but most importantly- impeccable service.
Saturday evening was packed as expected and we arrived for our 7:30 reservation and were told that they were running late. Â We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks. By the time we were seated, it was half an hour later and truth be told, I was quite annoyed considering I had called earlier to ask if my reservation could be moved to 8:00 p.m., was told absolutely not, only t be seated at the time I had requested anyway.
But I didn't have a chance to sulk as Josh, one of the managers, promptly stopped by our table, thanked us for our first visit and poured us a couple of glasses of complimentary champagne! Â And from there, our evening was followed by one awesome experience after another. Â
For starters, we ordered a dish that wasn't on the menu- lentils with bacon and poached eggs, which the chef served himself and topped off with shaved truffle. Â I'm not sure if it was the strong flavors of the lentils but the truffle didn't stand out on this dish. Â Nevertheless,it was a lovely way to start. Â We then proceeded to order the "Paris Club Plateau" with ginormous shrimp cocktail, crab claws and a half dozen oysters - delicious! Â
For our dinner (yes, we kept on eating), I ordered the filet mignon - perfectly prepared and made more heavenly by the sauce doög it came with.  My husband opted for the roast chicken and this too was simple and beautiful plated on a pool of black truffle and foie gras jus.  We also shared a side of trumpet mushrooms which my husband, who is always difficult to please, devoured in an instant!  Dessert was homemade beignets - warm and fluffy and made perfect by the chocolate sauce  accompaniment. Â
Throughout the entire time, we enjoyed the entire experience that somehow transported us to a different place even for that moment in time. Â I continue to be impressed by LEYE's ability to offer its diners a one-of-a-kind experience. Â I cannot wait to go back!
Paris Club is my go to place if I want to have an enjoyable evening. On the ground floor they have a great restaurant with great food at a fair price. Then, you have a couple drinks and wait till the evening rush of people go to the upper level and are guaranteed to have a great night. The girls are some of the finest Chicago has to offer and the guys are arrogant, but its that great that its more than worth going.
