Chestnut Grill & Wine Bar

one of my FAVORITE Places to go to just get away....... I love the lounge area with the nice piano or Sax player.. and then when you go into the restaurant! WOW!! Loved it!  My Friend and I Shared a BIG ASS Steak! it was DELICIOUS!!! and i'm not a huge steak eater. Love this place even for coctails. it's a bit on the Laid back/ Swanky/ Classic Ambiance but it's just my style :)

OLDSKOOL Chicago. This is a dark wood paneling/crisp white napkins "Men's Club"-y type of place. The waiters seemed inexperienced, but were v. eager to please. We ordered the "Big Ass Rib Eye For Two" and had to point it out on the menu, that yes - you do actually have this item (that was weird - new waiter?)

It was a bit strange ordering something in such an elegant restaurant with a decidedly inelegant name? Perhaps that can change. For steak, however, I'd say it was cooked well. It looked like a damn roasted BABY sitting on a plate, though.

Service is somewhat slow, but it's a "spend all evening leisurely dining" sort of place, so that didn't put me off.

The bar is great - this is a great "after shopping" bar, with a REAL piano bar. Great date place, so romantic on a v. snowy evening.
