GREAT Thursday night bar deals here!
It's a classy place with a nice bar/sitting area in the front. Lots of dark wood and mood lighting. It's a slightly older crowd than most of the places I frequent, but it's a great place to go on Thursdays.
First, on Thursdays they have a live band playing nice music. But the best part of this place is that they have 1/2 cocktails on Thursdays, along with 1/2 of appetizers!! Such a great deal, everything on their 1/2 off menu is $6 or $7. The cocktails are very good quality and delicious! They have awesome blue cheese chips as well as a steak. GREAT bang for your buck-- the quality is far superior than the price on Thursdays.
If you want a steakhouse for a date, business dinner, or anything else where you desire to get dressed up (or not), look no further! Â I was first at a Sullivan's in Tucson, AZ and loved it. Â Went here with my wife for the first time to this location and they did not disappoint. Â Best ambience of any place in the city. Â What I think really puts it over the top is the bar area with good, stiff drinks and a jazz trio playing - this is the norm for Sullivan's (Naperville is the same as well, as was Tucson). Â I must confess that Sully's is 2nd place for the steak - best goes to Ruth's Criss (sorry guys) but by no means is Sully's bad in any way. Â Service and atmosphere put this place over the top to my #1 place for good steak (teach Morons, eh, I mean Morton's, how it's done). Â Highly recommend you use valet parking, especially in winter or other foul weather as to play around with parking the car within several blocks is complete insanity. Â By comparison, valet is a bargain! Â I understand they have a separate cigar area/lounge and I'm dying to check it out. Â Anyone try it?
Review Source:I came to Sullivan's with a group of 8 colleagues for a conference held in Chicago and we walked here and back from the Swissotel. The restaurant had a nice, clean feel to it and we all ordered different steaks along with creamed spinach, potatoes au gratin, and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. Everything is a la carte so that sauces, sides, toppings are extra.
The steaks arrived perfectly cooked and none of us had to to wait for someone else to get their steak and that told us that the kitchen had its timing down. I had a New York steak with skillet mushrooms added and it was great - flavorful, juicy and just thinking about it makes me want to jump on a plane and return to Sullivan's (I'll be the passenger salivating the whole trip)! Â We had all gone to Ruth's Chris the last time the conference was in Chicago and all agreed while it was good, we enjoyed Sullivan's more. It was a good thing we walked back to the hotel so we could work off some of the beefy deliciousness we had consumed and not pass out in food comas.
