At this price point one expects an impeccable dining experience between the food, service, and ambiance. Jerry's falls short on all categories given the price point.

Food: This is the real disappointment as Jerry's has some truly inventive dishes and interesting flavor combinations. Our selections were quite patchy in warmth with many a cold spot in each dish. The coffee is really nonplus which is a letdown when you get to dessert. Dishes and flatware had remnants from the meals of those who dined before us on them.

Service: By and large the staff is friendly. We were visited infrequently.

Ambiance: The space is tight with many unfortunately placed tables. Overall, it felt chaotic.

Had such an enjoyable dinner here with my parents. The space is very intimate, and the decor makes you feel almost like you're at a friend's house for dinner. If you're ever in the burbs, definitely worth checking out. We started with house salads and the crispy shrimp cakes, both were great. For dinner, my mom had a fish special and my dad had the bolognese pasta which they were very happy with. The fish was seasoned very well with dill/lemon and the pasta was really hearty. I had the sea bass and it was cooked perfectly! I loved the vegetables that came along with it and the sweet/spicy Asian sauce.

We were there celebrating a birthday and had the cherry cobbler for dessert with raspberry gelato. So awesome. Actually, every dessert we saw going out looked awesome! They also serve Julius Meinl coffee in a french press which you really can't beat. I'll absolutely be trying to convince my parents for another trip here when I come up to the burbs!

Food was descent and the place was very cute! They do cooking demo parties which could be fun. I went for a birthday lunch and had no problem with seating without a reservation. The salad trio and roasted eggplant tomato soup and pizza were good. I was a fan but the waiter was a little difficult to understand.

Arranged a special night for my 10th anniversary with a wedding bouquet replica and bottle of prosecco waiting for us at the table.  Dinner was good until a glass was spilled and shattered all over me.

The manager said he would make good on the mishap and offered me a $7 discount at the end of a $200 meal.  I wasn't happy and asked for more.

He kept me waiting for a good 20 minutes and came back with $18 dollars off the bill.  I was still unhappy as that would barely cover the dry cleaning and the full glass of prosecco that we lost.

After another 15 minutes and much arguing, he finally took care of the cost of the bottle ($35) but told me to NEVER RETURN!  Nice customer service jacka**.

Went into Jerry's on a Tuesday night and although they have a wine list, they also allow BYOB and wave the corkage fee on certain days.  The food was great!  Also very attentive customer service! Very fresh, flavorful, and interesting.  This was my first time at Jerry's and I came with a friend from Miami.  The ceviche was great and my guest though it was excellent.  I think Jerry's is a nice little place for the North Shore.  They have the indoor seating and outdoor seating.  It was nice sitting outside as the sun went down and it was cooler.  Jerry's is a nice place!

I walked over to Jerry's with my guests and sat at an outside table, asking if that was ok. It was fine. If you don't get a good seat, maybe try picking your own or asking to change?

Anyway, the food was great--the burger was the best. I got a girly drink (a type of lemonade maybe?) and it tasted wonderful.

The waiter did try to "up sell" us though, asking if we wanted to try the soups, or have a dessert, and then acting as if whatever I ordered was an amazing choice. Hey, he's just trying to make a living. If you have some extra money, go ahead and buy more. I heard the soup was great. I got a lava cake for dessert, which was ok, but nothing impressive. I'd recommend trying something more adventurous (they had a cream cheese coconut cake that I almost got---I should've). All in all, a good place to eat with exceptionally good entrees.

Busy Saturday night and we asked for an outside table with our reservation this was confirmed. When we arrived we were then were told none were available and they don't take reservations for outside tables. Not a good start and the host was less than apologetic about the miscommunication . Sitting inside is noisy and frenetic. Service is ...well they appeared stressed and overwhelmed. All was redeemed however by the food. Beet Salad is the best. Gazpacho, Grilled Trout and the Skirt Steak were superb. Excellent wine list/by the glass. We'll be back but..

I do think they need to get a handle on their reservation system, table service and seating and do something about inside noise. So great food but ...

Went with a group of 8 people. The food was great. The service was not good as it took 3.5 hours to eat dinner. The waiter gave us 3 free desserts for the inconvenience and still charged us a 20% gratuity. Not sure I'm coming back anytime soon.

The food was really good. The service was not very good and they put us at a table near the noisy kitchen even though there were other better tables available. Definitely 4 to 5 star food but just a 3 star experience. I expect better for the price.

Had short ribs first time there--fab. Good wines. Second time had halibut--just OK. Decent menu. A nice surprise.

Been here about 5 times over the past two years. It is always excellent. The food is top notch and the menu changes seasonally. I have only had excellent service.

Comparing it to another high quality north shore restaurant - Micheal - I would say the food at Micheal is very traditional and there is no one less than 60 in the restaurant. Whereas Jerry's has a more updated menu, is a bit more casual, and has people of various ages dining. If you have not been you need to try it for a great local dining experience.

My wife and I just recently moved to Winnetka.  We had some guests up for the weekend and went to Jerry's for dinner.  Bad choice.  We arrived on time for our reservation and the host greeted us.  He then greeted a group that walked in after us who admitted being over half an hour late.  The host proceeded to seat the late party before us and consequently, we were stuffed in the last table they had.  If you have been to Jerry's, you know.  The seating is scrambled and it appears they are trying to seat as many as possible to make a buck rather than provide a comfortable environment.

Next, we ordered a few appetizers.  Nothing complicated...we thought.  The "Spring Rolls" we ordered turned out to be deep fried greasy egg rolls.  Do they actually have a "Chef" or is it someone they are just calling a chef?  Pretty sad.

The entrees were nothing spectacular but...the dessert,...THE DESSERT WAS SPECTACULAR...A SPECTACULAR DISSAPOINTMENT!!!  What was billed as a "Warm Basket of Homemade Cookies" - No kidding - turned out to be a plate of cold cookies obviously made with shortening rather than real butter...just disgusting.

So far the food in Winnetka is sub-par at best.  Jerry's has been touted as the best and was a miserable failure.  Can anyone with a palate tell me why they are still in business?  I am personally offended that Jerry's asks people to pay for that...food.  This is a poor attempt at haute cuisine.

There is a peculiar absence of good food in Winnetka.  Little Ricky's, Jerry's, Boris Cafe...Are you kidding me?  if you are looking for good food, stay out of 60093.

We were a birthday party for 8 ladies tonight. Mostly the food was good, but our waiter was extremely spaced out - we kept wondering if he was new or something. First, he forgot totally one of the appetizers. Then when he started to serve the entrees, there were only six. After waiting 10 minutes, someone had to go look for a waiter in another room. It seems he never even put in the missing two orders, so every ate and the other two had to eat alone when their entrees came about a half hour later. Two of the entrees were some kind of fried shrimp which looked like they had been dipped in a cafeteria batter and then fried into pellets. The other meals, especially the squash soup and beet salad were very good. Also the pizza, curried chicken and salmon were OK. The two people who got skirt steak found the sauce extremely salty and bitter. The fruit cobler for dessert was good, but the milky way pie seemed straight out of a freezer, and the crust was like a rock. It seemed that the wait staff had a hard time with the larger group, and the final blow was that we did not get any kind of apology from the management - no reduction in the bill or free dessert or even coffee. Disappointing.

Dinner was ok - risotto had a ton of cream.  Dessert was delicious!!!  Recommend the Chocolate lava cake.  Definitely overpriced

I came in tonight for my birthday, I was accidentally half an hour late for my reservation and they didn't blink an eye...such a cute little place! We sat at a nicely located table, it was just wobbly.

I love that Wednesday nights are BYOB and I love my birthday fell on a Wednesday this year! We definitely came stocked up on the beer, but they have a nice little selection of craft beers not on the menu (great lakes, etc).

Overall, a lovely experience, the host/owner remembered it was my day beyond the introduction, the curried chicken was a great choice (extremely mild, but once I added chopped jalepenos to the delicious mango chutney, which were quickly delivered, I was very pleased). The pasta dish was well-recieved, though I was surprised they don't make pasta in house (flavorful and well-cooked regardless).

The menu may seem all over the map (literally, it has asian, italian, and indian dishes),but fresh, flavorful food made for a great evening.

I've been here a few times now and I love the food, I love the price and I love the service. You cannot go wrong on this menu and the owner works the crowd and the kitchen making sure everything is just right. And it was!

It is hit or miss. Very uneven. Sometimes we get a great table and sometimes we are stuck in the corner. I had great salmon and another time the salmon was too dry.

A bit of a strange setup but the food was really quite good - the coconut shrimp with curry sauce and phyllo pizza appetizers had great flavor.  Entrees were also well executed and tasted good although I wouldn't call any of the plates all that imaginative.  Overall, it's very good food for the price point and I would definitely go back.

Place would've gotten 4 stars. Good food, lovely ambience, attentive and friendly wait staff.

However when we said we didn't have lunch reservations, they proceeded to seat us at the crappiest table, even though there was literally no other customers in the restaurant.

I had a feeling it was going to be bad because as we were being seated, the woman tried selling it to me as a great new seating space. They really shouldn't have crammed a table there.

We were seated at the high wicker table right next to the door. The space was so cramped that there's no place to put your purse, coat, or even the birthday gift I had for my friend. Plus the table wasn't stable and kept wobbling the whole time.

I was debating whether or not to knock a star off for this but we paid the same price as those who made reservations. Unfortunately this took away from an overall good first-time experience.

Went with a party of 6 on a Tuesday night.

Ambience is classy but not dressy. Walking to our seats, I noticed the artfully prepared dishes as well as comfortable noise and temperature levels.

Started with an excellent Down and Dirty Martini. I recommend it.

Followed with an appetizer of Beef Puffs in Bearnaise. Kind of like a popover / Beef Wellington kind of thing. I'd say 7 out of 10 on the app because, while the execution didn't disappoint,  I'm severely predisposed to liking the dish.

Main course of Jonnie's Fried chicken was a little underwhelming. Too dry for me, perhaps a culinary compromise that caters to uptight north shore health nuts. It did come with an excellent Roquefort sauce for dipping though.

As a side, we shared a Mess o' Fries served in a wax paper cone, Amsterdam-style. Very thin and crispy with a dusting of parmesan. They were another highlight of the meal.

I'd definitely go back but would skip the chicken.

It was my mom's birthday and we were looking for a nice place to indulge in a girls lunch.  Jerry's delivered.  It was a beautiful day so we sat outside.  And while yes, it is streetside tables, it's a quiet-ish street in Winnetka so it's hardly as if you're sitting underneath the El.  Our server could not have been nicer - he even gave my mom a coupon for a free birthday cookie on her next visit since we were far too full after lunch to even consider dessert.

I believe their menu changes regularly, but on this September day, my mother had an asian-inspired salad and I had chickpea patties (aka falafel).  Both were outstanding.

    I will definitely return!!

This place is always packed and I'd go more often if it wasn't so pricey. Steak had excellent flavor and the staff is fantastic. A great place to grab a drink and an appetizer and sit outside.

This is one of my places.

#1 I like veggies and you can get these there.
Beets!!! I love these- I think the best Beets in the world.

Soups-- I never am like... Wake up... I want some soup but when I come in for a quick lunch I am always so happy with a soup here!

Drinks- It is an awesome place to sit outside on an afternoon and drink a glass of champagne--- or a bottle.  The sidewalk is sunny and friendly.

You do need reservations at night and probably at lunch but just call.

I think this is a place everyone should check out.

I have now been here twice: once for a private party in the Cook's Corner portion of the establishment and once a few weeks ago for an intimate dinner with close friends. All I can say is: SUPERB! I can't wait to go here again. The food was excellent, the service great, and the atmosphere was buzzing with energy and people. The restaurant is tiny, but that's what makes it charming and intimate. I would think it would be a very romantic meal for any couple or just a fun place to get together with friends, as we did. Everything from the appetizers, to our meals, to the dessert, and the wine, and dessert wine, and coffee (yes, we couldn't quit ordering) was just awesome.  Certainly one of the North Shore's finest. Let's hope they keep up the good work.

I'm impressed.  We had a party of 15 people last night for a work-related dinner.  Despite being a small restaurant, they accommodated us beautifully.  We sat at a large square table in a slightly private portion of the restaurant, complete with a working fireplace.  The restaurant as a whole is very quaint but having this little section to ourselves made it even better.

The food overall was excellent.  I had a rosemary chicken dish with red potatoes and a side of broccoli that I would give a solid four star rating. All those having ordered the steak left their plates nearly licked clean so it is safe to say it was enjoyed.  My favorite was the appetizers as they were really tasty.  I felt that they had a lot of unique flavor combination and I'd recommend trying a couple varieties.  The staff gradually rolled out each appetizer (always enough for everyone to try at least one) and it lent nicely to a longer dinner party experience.  I was a bit worried that we were already receiving appetizers before even placing our entree orders but was pleasantly surprised to find that we did not have too long of a lull between the courses.  For dessert, I had their cookies based on recommendation -- and I was certainly glad to take the suggestion.  They were still warm and simply delicious.

The service was pretty flawless.  Our main waiter, Ernie, fit right in with our group's dynamic.  He is an obvious asset to the establishment.

    Game on!

Our first meal at Jerry's was nearly a year ago, shortly after this progeny of Corner Cooks opened.  It was such a pleasant evening that I was inspired to pen my first ever Yelp review.

I'm happy to report that--in this diner's opinion--Jerry's has kept its edge.  We're only to happy to drive downtown for a meal at Table Fifty-Two--Art Smith is a wizard--or Sepia, but on a cold snowy night, nothing beats fine dining in the 'hood!

White bean soup Provencal, caesar salads, and perfectly cooked wild-caught cod in a mild curry sauce with bok choy were just the ticket.  Ed and Ernie--yes, really--treated my wife and me to splashes of a half-dozen red wines.  We finished by splitting a poach pear in a spiced sauce that would make a great cocktail--with an ounce of vodka.

I remain a happy camper.  Mojoman
