I like the sandwiches better than Jimmy Johns and the people who work here are friendly.
My advice is to put the oil and vinegar on the bread part of the sandwich instead of on top of the meat because the bread soaks it up and makes it less sloppy to eat.

As a native New Jersey girl, I love that there's a Jersey Mike's in Chicago, AND that they've got a map of New Jersey on the wall when you walk in :)  The subs are good... they're not "New Jersey Italian deli" good, but they're good enough.

Food is great. Good environment. Meat sliced by deli slicer in front of you. Rating is torn however. Where the taste is great it is pricey. Not just pricey but I honestly feel it is over priced. Meat quality is above average but not such quality at the price. Because of that, it should be considered a rate treat and not a frequent eat.

Jersey Mike's is the best sub shop around. You can't get anything like it. The prices are great, the service is even better and the food is the best.

There is not one bad thing about this Jersey Mike's. Honestly, everyone drives by it every day thinking it's nothing out of the ordinary but it is. No one realizes how good this sub shop is until you try it. Thousand times better than Subway, Jimmy Johns and all of those other boring sub shops.

Stop in, try a sub and I can guarantee you, you're taste buds will fall in love. It is nothing short of perfect. I highly recommend it. Best sub shop around, hands down!

These subs are the BEST!!  Everything is better than it is at Subway or even Jimmy John's!!  They have huge subs, the bread is tasty and the meat and seasonings are just fantastic.  This is the first time we went here and it blew us away!  hot and cold subs alike were just outstanding!!!

I have walked past Jersey Mikes at least 40 to 50 times and smelled the bread and often wondered, what is this place?  Finally they build one out in the Gurnee area and I just happen to get a coupon which I love when I am trying something for the first time.  Buy one sandwich get one free so my boyfriend and I go there and I must say that I am a picky person and I was in love with this place.  The meat was sliced fresh, the vegetables were fresh and they didn't have all that junk that people put on subs except the original way it should be, oil, vinegar, spices and of course you could have other condiments but not my choice.  I thought that the food was fantastic, the staff was very nice and the restaurant and most importantly the rest room was CLEAN.  I would recommend it highly.  With so much competition, I hope this place stays open.

I went to Jersey Mike's for the first time today after driving by it for over a year on my way to work.  The service was good and quick enough.  The place was clean and well supplied.

I ordered a regular meatball sandwich and it was not very good.  The meatballs were cut up in a weird way like someone was trying to design a meatball that would fit on a sandwich nicely.  It didn't work.  Meatball sandwiches are messy, that's just the way it is, get over it.  On top of that, the meatballs and sauce were not very good at all.  Even Subway's sorry excuse for meatballs are better than these sick, cut up things.

The sauce was spread all over both sides of the bread prior to installing the meatballs on the sandwich.  This made the sauce soak into the bread so that there was very little sauce on any meatballs and bread that was soaked in sauce.  As a meatball sandwich veteran I know that these things are messy to eat, but this sandwich could not even maintain its sandwich form.  The bread and sauce meshed together into an indistinguishable mush along side the meatballs.

With so many sandwich shops available, I will not be returning to Jersey Mikes.  (Panera, Subway, Jimmy Johns, Portillos are all better options)

Visited this Jersey Mike's for the first time the other day. Ordered my usual Philly Cheese steak and paid for extra meat. Compared to the one I got in Crystal Lake, this one did not have it. Also asked for a knife and a fork and they did not have a knife. No big deal but just seemed a little disorganized compared to other of their locations I have been to.

A great sub shop.  They cut the meats by order and are very quick.  The bread is made on sight and is also outstanding.  This place has become the place to go for subs.

An Update:  Not only are the subs outstanding here, but the managers are great too.   They make sure everything is okay and give great tips on how to get free offers, none of which spam you with e-mails.   Try out their new frequent dinner's option right there at the cash resister.  There is a touch screen there where you put your cell phone number in and it tracks how many times you come and if offers up great deals right there on the spot!

Ok can I first say how I love this place!! They need to open some in the Miami location asap!

Ok well this is definitely no Subway! You have the option to order a cold or hot sub. My recommendation is to go for a hot one. Go for the chiptole cheeseteak and you will thank me when you are done!

The place here has fresh food and veggies. You can tell the bread is baked fresh as well. Overall, a great place for a sub

This place is not your average SubWay. Subs are WAY fresher, all tr veggies are regularly replaced and the lunch meat is sliced fresh for every sandwich!  Other shops prep the meat days in advance!  They could have more options for toppings, but that have all I like on my sandwiches so if your looking for a buffet of toppings, stay away.

I will be a regular here, just need to sign up for their email club since they're more expensive than most sandwich shops

We finally tasted the new sub shop which has been the talk of the town. The quality of deli meat was good but nothing special same goes with their bread and condiments. I didn't like the service though, it made me feel like I was in Subway and I know, it's a sub shop but still for the price I pay, I still need to be served well. I prefer Leno's sub than Mike's sorry to say. There's really nothing special to crave for and comeback, sorry to say. All in all, not bad.

Jersey Mike's subs has taken over, for me, the title of best chain sub shop. My other recent favorite has been Jimmy John's, but after several trips with wilted lettuce and such, I needed to move on...

I love that Mike's fresh slices the meat and cheese for every sandwich, and getting them "Mike's Way" (lettuce, onion, tomato, oil/vinegar, salt/pepper, mayo) really completes the experience. I like the 3 size choices (one for every appetite - 4", 7", 14") and that each complete sandwich is chock full of meat and toppings. I don't feel like I'm eating just a loaf of bread.

Price is average for these types of sub shops, but they routinely publich coupons and do have an email club where you can get even more good offers.

Only downsides are that they are a bit slow (due to the fresh slicing for every individual sandwich) and during the two times I have gone there have been slight things wrong with my order (I'm not extremely picky about it, but if you are then you are forewarned!).

The chips from Mike's are just OK - I prefer Jimmy John's chips to these.

Overall, a decent choice for another sub...
