Food is excellent! This is by far the best coleslaw and Reuben that I've ever had. You get a huge amount of food for the price. Also be aware, this is a seat yourself place. Unfortunately no one explained that to me when we walked in. After standing around for 5min we were finally acknowledged and told you can sit anywhere. It then took a little longer than I expected to get our food, but it was busy in all fairness. If it wasn't for this, I would have rated it 5 stars.
Review Source:Best corned beef in town!
This has been a great place for my family to go! We all enjoy it and to make it even better it's great every time we go. Â Always hot, fresh, not dried out corned beef. Â Most of the time the waitresses are friendly... Some seem cranky and that they don't want to be there. Â Great chicken noodle soup too.
Ive been sick with strep for about three days now so I'm finally getting to the point where solid foods are do-able again, and boy did a giant rueben sound good!
I placed my order over the phone that consisted of a rueben and some onion petals and my friend got a turkey ruben and a cup of french onion, I had requested that bills be separate and the lady on the phone sounded chipper enough.
My buddy and I pulled up around quarter after 9 and the place looked like it was closed. When we walked in we were given a nice icy greeting by the famed waitress in the Kaline jersey. When it came time to pay, my friend realized that she had forgotten her wallet in her car, so I apologized and politely asked if she could just combine the two bills.
It was at this point that I became concerned for our Kaline supporting bar maid, she rolled her eyes so far back into her head that I thought she was about to start seizing! Without uttering a word, she huffily nabbed the two bills, turned to her POS system, punched a few keys and threw the newly combined bill down in front of us.
After that, I figured two could play this game, and requested a couple sides of ranch...I don't even like ranch.
I sure hope this woman stops at the local pharmacy on the way home and purchases herself some extra strength laxative..shes going to need some help getting rid of that redwood thats lodged up her ass.
Anywho, Sandwiches were tasty, and the onion petals were your run of the mill deep fried fair, but BEWARE of the french onion! Twas barely beef bullion flavored water with a few strands of what could have been onion at some point floating about. Â
Cheers!
by far my favorite place to go for corned beef sandwiches..every time i eat here everything is delicous,I always get the Mt Clemens Dinty Moore cause i love cole slaw on my sandwiches but i have had there regular Rueben and its delicous...you wont find a bigger tastier sandwich anywhere on the East side..anyone that hasnt ate here and likes ruebens should definetely check it out.
Review Source:Keno, corned beef, and great service.
Val (the non-grouchy waitress) took great care of us the whole time.  This place is a family friendly sports bar that does delicious corned beef sandwiches.  We had the Dinty Moore reuben which actually is  their corned beef sandwich with coleslaw and thousand island.  Delicious and filling!
The onion chips are a tasty treat and they have a good selection of beers on tap.
PS: Â Steve says hi! And he docked one star because the bartender is grouchy.
I gave Jimmy Dee's 4 stars with this review because today was only my 1st time there and it isnt fair to give it 5 stars, yet. What if I go there next and get crappy service and food? Â
That certainly was NOT the situation today. Me and a friend met there for lunch, because she had heard a lot about their corned beef sandwiches. Indeed, they have a sign out front stating they serve "famous corned beef". Thats enough for us, we were in!
I ended up ordering a Bourbon Steak wrap, with fries and a soup or salad for $5.99. The salad was nice - looked like it came out of a bag you'd get at your grocer, but whatevs. It had cheese, onions, croutons, nice fresh cucumbers and delicious ranch (and trust me, Im a ranch snob!). The salad was big enough we split it. And then came out the 1/2 order of onion rings I ordered as an appetizer (note to self: Do not order appetizers again as the meals are HUGE). Anyways, the onion rings were just delicious! Â The breading on them is panko-like and they were delicious...Now onto the main course.
My friend ordered the corned beef and my GOD that thing is huge. Shes a big eater (Dont tell her I told you that!) and she could only eat half. And that was stuffing herself full. She stated that the corned beef was very fresh and wasnt dried out, like shes had at other places. The bread was very fresh (made in house?) and she kept on saying how good it was and how she couldnt wait to go back and get another next week. My bourbon steak wrap was also huge in proportion, but it was absolutely stunningly delicious. The steak was sooo tender and the bourbon sauce was a little heavy, but not strong. I added sauteed onions to the wrap and glad I did. The wrap itself seems to be made in house. It was great. Also, a huge serving of fries accompanied the wrap. I, as well as my friend, brought 1/2 home for my better half. He loved it!
The place has a full bar, and also a side room which looks to take spillover when they get busy, or even a room for meetings/parties. The establishment was very very clean and the server we had (ironically a girl I went to HS with) was friendly and checked back often to refill our drinks and make sure we were ok.
We are going back this week, but right now I am giving the big "go ahead" to try this place out. It is definitely worth it. Updates to follow....
