This place sucks.  Dont care what kind of a "LB landmark/establishment/whatever" this is .... Its expensive for the crap you get... Funny to see hipsters come in here and enjoy the place bc its a "landmark"....  Wack... Wont ever come back

The pickled eggs were great! The bartender was horrible! Cash only. Something that really struck me as odd... no ice. A bar without ice? Weird.

Simply the best. While I didn't grow up in California my family did and every couple months when we go to the coast this is naturally the very first place we stop.

I was hooked on this place the first time I experienced the Joe's special/pickled egg/pretzels. As a kid I loved accompanying it with a cool little bottle of Coke. Now I vary between Coke/root beer and the ridiculously cold and fresh beer (I miss the Pabst by the way...but I know the story and understand y'alls decision).  

In a nut shell, this place is just comfortable on all levels. It feels like home and has been a meaningful part of the life, and I didn't even grow up in California. Go experience history!
