Ok, it was a little difficult to rate this establishment at an average 3. To be fair I am rating as a group leader and not an individual diner. I host a monthly brunch for my social group. Our groups figurehead contacted me very excitedly about this great new place named The Red Leprechaun that opened up in our area. I was stoked, so we got together to set up a group brunch. WE explained to our contact that the group is typically upwards of 20ppl and we expressed a concern for having a smooth even asking if her staff would be able to handle a group of 20 women to which we were assured it would be fine. We don't intentionally want to over tax anyone.
Brunch day arrived (1/6/2013) and so did all 20 ladies, everyone in great spirits about this new find. We waited the longest I think we have ever had to wait to get our food. Orders did not come out by who ordered first. There were huge wait periods between orders served and to top it off, the food was freezing when it did finally arrive. The OWNER herself had to run back and help run the griddle. Luckily the food was still fairly tasty even cold and our girls try to have a good attitude about trying out a new place. No one talks about this event as they do so fondly of other events we've had and nobody has expressed any interest in returning.
On the upside, I've visited this place with a normal # of diners (4) and everything was splendid. The wait was a little longer than other places, but well worth it bc when served up HOT, the food is divine! Try the Pot O' Gold, it's positively Heavenly/Sinful all rolled into one. Oh, and I hear they have the perfect pour if you are up for a Guennis for breaky.
Moral of the story, this place is not set up for groups larger than 6-8 diners. Cheers!
The RL (I go there so often that I refer to it this way) is a great neighborhood pub/restaurant. Â It has been open nearly a year and it has made lots of upgrades to decor--both inside and outside--food and beverages. Â I was there last night and saw that they now offer wine by the bottle. Â While the wine selection is on the small side, what is offered is quality and very reasonably priced. Â Of course the real star of the beverage family is the beer. Â They have about 6 on tap that constantly change so there is always something new to try. Â They also have additional craft beers in bottles. Â As for food, I can only comment on the corned beef sandwich and the 1/2 roasted chicken with mashed potatoes & veggies. Â I love both these dishes that I never try anything else! Â However my Nephew and Brother-In-Law both love the Fish & Chips. Â The owners, Tracey & Â Mark are so nice as are the rest of the servers. Â I love that I can walk less than 2 blocks to spend a couple of hours at The Red Leprechaun chatting with friends while having some wine and appetizers. Â Oh yes, they have a Happy Hour from 4-6pm M-F with discounted drinks and appetizers.
