My experience here started out strong and finished terribly.
I was here with a party of 9 for my mom's birthday. Our server, Danica, was very nice and attentive. Drinks, bread, and appetizers came quickly and were good (but nothing special). We placed our order... I ordered the chicken pot pie, no squash. The food came out fairly promptly, but half the entrees were not hot. Like room temperature. So back they went. Then while half of our party ate their food (which was only barely warm) the rest of us sat and stated hungrily at each other.
Finally our food came back out. My chicken pot pie had squash on it, which I had specifically asked to be omitted. My hatred of squash is above most everything... So I opted to send it back (for good this time) and watch the rest of my party eat. Everyone else's food was ok, but once again, nothing special. Several managers came and apologized, but I was admittedly pretty steamed by this point and not interested in apologies.
After sampling my family's meals I can honestly say that there is nothing special about anything they serve here. Everything I tasted was pretty bland and uninteresting; even the buffalo wing appetizer, which was the best thing I tasted, was "meh" and overcooked as well.
For the price I expected more - especially when the similarly priced and fantastic Cafe Lucci is just around the corner. Will not be back here ever, an opinion echoed by my mom, who chose Jolane's for her birthday meal and was not pleased either.
A friend and I decided to check this place out after hearing about the great food and that they carry Julius Meinl coffee.
The service was great - yes, the food took longer than usual but the waitress took care of the issue by continually reminding us that it will be out shortly. She was very attentive even though the restaurant seemed to be busy. You can't blame the waitress for the slow kitchen when the restaurant is busy and there are parties being taken care of.
The food was phenominal - I asked the waitress for recommendations since I am vegetarian and she pointed me in the right direciton and recommended the Pear & Frence Brie Sandwich. It was out of this world and the Parmesan Garlic Fries that accompanied the sandwich were great too.
I would definitely recommend checking out this place - it is a very cute restaurant, with great decorations, and a great spot for an evening out.
My review concerning the elderly man that was treated rudely was deleted from this site. Â The manager Gina wrote a reply to my deleted review containing false statements (that my group was asked to leave and that in someway my 87 year old friend was harassing a waitress - both were outright lies). Â The manager then apologized for the false statements and now my review is deleted. Â Take a look at the reviews showing poor service and you will become aware of the quality of this restaurant.
