My fiance, sister in law and I ate here last night. I have eaten here once before and received great service and great food so I was excited to go back. Walking in, I definitely smelled smoke which is disgusting in a restaurant (IMO). We sat ourselves as the sign said and it took our waitress several minutes to come to us. My fiance went to the restroom so I ordered his water while he was gone. When the waitress came back she forgot his water. And then said "oh do you need menus?" Um, yes, that would be nice. So 10 minutes later she brings our menus and his water, walks away, 10 minutes later comes back where my fiance ordered a beer. He asked if she had any porters on tap. She said no but said they have a good bottled one. She took our app order and left. 10 minutes later she comes back to take our food order, which she didn't write down. After she does and leaves she comes back about 10 minutes later with our app and I have to remind her that my fiance ordered a beer. She brings it to him and he asked me to look it up. Neither one of us drink a lot of beer and he was curious since he was told it was a porter but it looked more like an ale, and sure enough it was. Bummed but not enough to ask for another since we figured it would be at least another 10 minutes to get it. When we finally get our food, the order is wrong. My SIL didn't receive her pretzel bun she ordered and my burger seemed more well than I asked. I also realized I didn't receive my soup I ordered but at that point, again, didn't want to wait any longer. When the waitress finally brought the right bun (that was the entire reason my SIL ordered a burger) she bit into the burger and it was medium not well done as she ordered. I know people who order well done order it because they can't stand the thought of pink meat and she immediately felt sick. We realized our patties must have been switched so we switched them the correct way. We told the waitress and she said she was sorry and asked if we wanted new burgers but at this point we had been there so long we had just wanted to go. When the waitress brought us the bill, there was no change to the normal pricing for her several mistakes so we spoke to the manager who was great. He took off both burgers and gave us a coupon for BOGO entrees. Now I could have understood some of these mistakes and the time wait if the place was packed. But it was dead. I was a waitress for 10 years in a packed beach town and so I know how it can be but there was NO reason for the multitude of mistakes. Write down your tickets! No one will be offended! I'd rather you write it down and get it right than experience the many mistakes and if you work in a pub KNOW YOUR BEERS. Â Service aside from the manager, was awful, the waitress was Melanie so avoid her if you can. We will probably head back one more time to redeem the coupon but will just stick to Park Lane from now on.
Review Source:Well this place is full of smoke, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE service, I sat at a table for a little over an hour and no bartender came over to greet me, take my order, or anything. Â The place is always dead inside I don't know what that's about. Â This place is more of a mortuary than a Pub. Â Though the place has pub in the title. Â I don't think I'll be returning.
Review Source:Tried N.N. Resturant because my sister likes the one at the Beach. Â Nice decor here at N.N., food is okay, but service is not professional more like McDonalds or Burger King. Â Two dollars off on appetizers depends on the mood of the manager. Â Tried to tell me the cost of certain foods is not included--- server already ran the check !! Â Go figure ! Â Total was off big time ! Â Sit at the bar--- otherwise, go to the beach . Â Better yet, Chik- Fil-La, Â service is better.

went to this place for lunch with my wife today, needless to say the service was the worst i've ever had in my life and i will not only not recommend this place but i will strongly discourage you, it took 45 minutes to get a check just so i could leave this god awful place, the food wasnt good waitress acted like she didnt care and then brought me the wrong change  so i just said screw it and walked out, i didnt feel like waiting another hour to have my problems resolved.... don't ever go here, i will be contacting the manager
Review Source:We usually go to Keagan's in Virginia Beach, and we love it. However, the Keagan's here in Newport News sucks! We walked in and there was a sign that read seat yourself. Initially I didn't understand why the facility wasn't busy, because they were showing the UFC fight for free and the place was nice looking. I quickly realized it was the service, we sat ourselves at a dirty table and no one bothered to clean it nor bring us menus. Two waitresses ignored me as I attempted to talk to them as they passed by. I finally went to the bar and asked the bat tender politely if someone could bring us menus and clean the table, she said sure. We waited 20 min, and no one came. Like really, the place was empty. I eventually flagged a waitress down, and she cleaned the table and gave us menus, but it took her another 15+ to take our order. I was really disappointed with the service. I feel they take advantage, because they know Newport News is lacking in Sport Bar. The food was also bad, both my boyfriends food and my food had a funny metallic after taste. We won't be dining here ever again! I recommend people checkout Quaker Steak and Lube, there facility is nice, they have more TV's, the food is good, and most importantly the service is a lot better.
Review Source:The food was actually decent but the service was absolutely terrible. It took 10 mins before our waitress came over to even take our drink order and it just went downhill from there. I'm not sure if all the servers are as bad as ours was - it may have just been that we drew the short straw when it came to our waitress, but her service alone was bad enough to turn us off from ever going back again.
Review Source:Recently I went into Keagan's and tried the 'Bookmaker' sandwich with the cheesy potato cake. The Bookmaker is a thinly sliced prime rib sandwich on ciabatta bread with Swiss cheese, also comes with Au Jus for dipping. The cheesy potato cake was a fried potato concoction that was honestly really delicious, but a little heavy/rich. I think I liked the potato cake more than the sandwich, the prime rib was a little bland.
Service was good, bartender was very nice but the food did take a long time to come out.
