Kickoff Sports Bar

Well, where to begin....had a great time here last night! We celebrated my honey's milestone birthday with a group of friends and we could not have had a better time!

From the get - go the staff here was extremely accommodating, helping with my planning and making suggestions for a great evening event. Very nice establishment/bar with a separate area for private events, however you can mingle throughout the place. Tvs on every wall so of course all the guys were watching the game which was cool, gave our event something for everyone. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable.  

I was allowed to bring in my own decorations and rearrange the tables to our liking. For this event we had food served buffet style and drink specials were available for our group. We had our own DJ and we took full advantage of their dance floor! I understand that on Friday nights they have a DJ for their Friday night event(s); will have to come in on a Friday and check it out.

I cannot stress enough how cool the staff was! Nelly was our go-to person last night and she helped with cake set-up etc. to make everything run smooth and on track. Everyone in our group loved the place and I know I sound cheesy, but they all kept commenting on just how well run the place is, the bartenders were on point with fast friendly service, glasses cleared off tables quickly.There were several regulars at the bar and they just went with the flow of our party and were cool about it. Plenty of street parking available in the evening.

Will definitely be back!

Honestly have no problems with Kickoff (formerly Charm, much formerly the Brick-and-Beam). I still go on occasion and it's a perfectly good place to get a cheap drink, and they show the fights on occasion which gets credit in my book. The food is nothing special but you can do much worse at a bar.

Why the three stars? First, the place almost always seems to be dead, which kind of stinks, because it is a vicious circle. You need more people to make the location more attractive, but someone has to be the first person in. Second, as someone else pointed out the bar does have a bit of an identity crisis. It's a sports bar now, except it hasn't fully bought into that concept. It used to be a "trendy" type bar except that the concept doesn't really work in this area.

I've gone several times, I'm sure I'll go again, and I hope they succeed, but it's not my first choice and there's nothing particularly special about it yet.

I wish they would change it back to charm!   Love love everything about this place but it was way more fun as a karaoke bar- they are trying to be a sports bar and in this neighborhood- that's not really what the people want.  Great drinks , friendly staff, but wish it would go back to normal :(
