Lake & Union Restaurant & Lounge

I always enjoyed this diner -- the food isn't good, and it's super greasy, but it's okay fare for a diner. Until this morning when I noticed that they were watching FOX NEWS. I asked them why are you watching this? The guy at the counter said, "Our boss says it has to be on." I told him nicely, "Then this is the last time I"ll be here." He said, "well, you're just one person."

Now you can decide! Do you want your eggs with right-wing ideology or not?

The staff is friendly, the place is clean, the food is good and not expensive.  They also put out some free food for happy hour on Thursday or Friday (it's one of those days just not sure which).  I'm not a foodie but if you are looking for an easy and fast food spot then you can't go wrong with Lake and Union.

Get the meatball sub, they only have it once in awhile on special but it's delicious.

This place is not a fancy club or restaurant,but...I liked it!! The drink prices were very reasonable for the area.Service was quick and efficient.  I went to an open mic here last Monday.It was hosted by Chevy Debbie. She is one funny,dirty lady!!The crowd was very welcoming and I had a blast! Chevy Debbie hosts an open mic here the first Monday of the month. It is open to ALL entertainers-musicians,singers,poets and comics alike. See??? We ALL can get along!!
