This pizza is definitely a hidden gem in the city of Moraga. Â I'm huge pizza person and was pleasantly surprised when I tried this place out. Â The staff was friendly and provided excellent service along with great pizza. However, the only drawback was I did order their zucchini sticks which were not very good at all. Â You could tell they were tasteless frozen zucchini sticks. Other than that, everything was good and I would recommend this pizza place if one is ever in the area.
Review Source:Worth the drive into Moraga. Our family likes to hang out at Lamorinda Pizza eating their thin crust pies. Kids get cheese, adults get veggie. We haven't tried anything else. Love the thin crust - make sure you ask for it. We sit on the tables inside in the winter and outside in the summer. Sometimes the t.v. is on and they give us the remote. Great selection of beers! Great friendly service. If you order in, salads come on pie plates! We just dig this place.
Review Source:Best Pizza in Bay Area. Â I like to order a pie, freeze what I don't eat and reheat in toaster over, even better! Â No competition vs chains, Roundtable has no passion, MountainMikes? seriously? Â Can't wait until 4:30, it's Sunday, I need a pie to eat with my football (and Giants in NLCS elimination game).
I support local business or I can't be surprised if I'm left with only factory made chain restaurant food! Â LAMORINDA PIZZA IS AWESOME!
Wanted very much to like this pizza as I always support local businesses. Â The pie was loaded with (on my wife's veggie side) a mass of soggy tasteless vegetables and meat galore on mine.
But the crust so-so and worse yet, the sauce was completely lacking flavor and tanginess.
Bland with a capital "B". Â Round Table does a better job and is less expensive.
I had expected more of the boutique pizza restaurant style and taste. Â When I lived in Piedmont, the avenue by the same name was rich in quality pizzas, LoCoco's and Dopo to name just two!
A little disappointed. Â Ordered a large pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni and mushroom ( they were out of red onion?) . Â It was OK but I would have hated to see it without the extra cheese because there was barely any cheese on the pizza as it was. Â Sauce was good. Â I did not see a whole bunch of pepperonis and mushrooms either. Â Adequate college type pizza but not much more.
Review Source:Best Pizza in Lamorinda area. Â Take out only.
Great Pizza, Fresh toppings and crust!.. I like how the flavors have a slight variation from previous visits which to me indicates fresh made sauces and ingredients.
Looking for a great pizza, This is the place but take out only! This place could do very well as a restaurant / bar.
The best pizza in Lamorinda - easily. Only real competition in town is Round Table and Penninis...The pizza at Penninis is always way too oily and way too salty. Ugh. And Round Table..well, it's Round Table.
The best part of their pizza is the crust, which is always real crispy. The sauce is good and the toppings are always fresh and tasty.
I haven't been here in years, and knew it had new owners. Â I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
I loved my the marconi dish pie. Â My daughter didn't. Â I'm anxious to try one of their Combos. Â I think the best thing about this place is that the pizza is good, and the prices are outstanding. Â
The service was okay. Â people there weren't overly friendly as other reviews indicated. Â I was expecting the service to be outstanding, and people making an extra effort to sell their products. Â NOT. Â They were okay.
The nice thing about the old owners, they delivered! Â These people do not.
The kids get pizza from Lamorinda at school and rave about it so we gave this place a try.
Ordered a large pepperoni and sausage. The pizza was ready when promised and the guys at the counter were great and obviously excited about the product they were handing me.
Wow, what a change from the pizza I remember from 8 years ago. The thing was covered in toppings and had a perfect cheese to sauce ration. Actually, what really stood out for me was the sauce. It was slightly sweeter then what I an used to. Very tasty!
We have now added Lamorinda Pizza to the pizza rotation!
Lamorinda Pizza did a great job with our School Event! Â John the owner helped me with a large order and everything went great. Â The pizza were ready when it was pick-up time and they even helped me load them into my car. Â Great service from a great staff. Â Thank you for making our event a big hit!
Review Source:Great pizza, you can really taste the fresh ingredients. Â The sauce/cheese ratio favors the sauce, but it's great sauce (on the sweet side). Â The crust is unique, it seems to have something else on the bottom instead of cornmeal, the texture reminded me of crispbread (think Wasa crackers). Â The young man who took my order and the young woman at the cash register were great. Â I arrived a little after closing for a pick-up, and they were kind enough to stay open until I arrived. Â I wil definitely be back!
Review Source:A totally solid pizza that sits a head above the nearby Mountain Mike's and Round Table chain restaurants. Their crust here is crispy and not at all greasy, and the veggie toppings are always fresh and delicious. As for the help, the young people that work here are always super friendly and accommodating. This is just a great place to grab a pizza if you're ok with spending a little more money than you would at the other local spots. It would be nice if there was seating inside, but I can't complain too much because I live in walking distance.
Review Source:so let me start by saying that I'm impressed by your high ratings...as a person that owns a restaurant myself, I have found that often times yelp is just an area to complain and I rarely get on here to write reviews. Because i see your promise, and need in the lamorinda for a good delivery option, I wanted to send a message in hopes that you look as closely at Yelp as I do.
The girl on the phone tonight was great and bubbly. Â Very warm and accomodating. Â I was happy with my ordering choices and again, just happy to have good delivery here in Orinda. Â Just one thing that is a really easy fix, you need to make your Ranch dressing in house... Â I noticed on the menu that you send out a lot of items with ranch dressing and there is such a distinct taste difference between the pre-made bottled ranch and the ones that are soooo simple, and cost affective where you just add the basics to the pachaged seasoning. Â
Please make this change.... i would love to try your fried zuchini or mozzarella but with that bottled ranch it isn't worth it.
Great job on the pizza and produce, it's apparent you are going for fresh. Â Send it home by whipping up your own ranch dressing.
Thank you...
Aw - the good old college pizza - nothing beat their late night special, 8.50 for a large one topping delivered to your dorm room.
Seeing as how I have a real job and a 401k, I opt for nicer pizza now - but they were always very nice, quick, and cheap - and really, for that price, it was a good deal.
I don't know if they still have that, but it sounds like they still encourage SMC patronage, something enough businesses don't do in the LAMO area!
3 things:
1. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!
2. My pizza was delicious and covered in toppings! They are not shy or cheap about the amount of toppings you get and you definitely get more than what you pay for. The pizzas are relatively cheaper than Mountain Mikes and Roundtable and 100x tastier.
3. St. Mary's students get 20% as long as you tell them or show your ID card.
I usually don't crave pizza, but today was definitely one of the rare occasions that I was. My boyfriend and I decided to try Lamorinda Pizza after I called to inquire about pricing and sizes over the phone. You can check their facebook page http://facebook.com/lamo… for their menu. It's awesome. As sizing goes, the small size at Lamorinda Pizza is 12", which is a medium at Mountain Mikes and Roundtable. However, Mountain Mikes and Roundtable were never that tasty to me. Anyway, my boyfriend and I got a small sausage, mushroom, and pepperoni pizza with a SMC discount for $12.50. It was deliciousssssssss and very filling.
Lamorinda Pizza is definitely going to run these restaurant chains out of business once everyone has tasted their pizza. They're just THAT good!
Heard some friends talking about the new ownership and the new pizza in Moraga. Â It's only a take-out shop but if it weren't I'm sure it would be jam packed! Â Called to inquire about an order and was very politely handled. Â Pizza was ready exactly when I was told it would be and still warm when I got home. Â Met the owners (sorry, I forget the names!) and I could tell they love what they do. Â They've owned this since September 2010 so please disregard the much earlier reviews. Â It's a different place now.
The pizza (meat combo and plain cheese) had excellent flavor. Â There was more meat than I could have expected and it was delicious (including the wonderful sausage and thankfully lots of bacon!). Â So much topping I had to use two hands. Â The cheese pizza had a delicate flavor and the sauce was very nice. Â Tasty crust too.
I'll be back. Â So glad I heard about this. Â Wishing the new owners all the best.
I'd never been to this place under the old ownership so I can't compare. I came here Saturday night to order a pizza for my gf's and I to eat before our girls night out. I ordered an Xtra large half vegie half chicken pesto. Their veggie is to die for! You can tell they use super fresh ingredients. The extra large is huuuge by the way. It fed 5 girls for before the bars, after the bars, and breakfast the next morning :P Will definitely order from again.
Review Source:It's dinnertime. Â Whether you're a Saint Mary's sophomore with an empty mini-fridge freezer or a working parent with hungry kids after LMYA soccer practice, you know the routine: the clock says its 6:30 and you're hungry. Â What's for dinner?
If you're like me, you're looking for something quick, reasonably priced, and locally-owned. Â Forget the chains, the Round Table Pizzas and the 360 Burritos. Â When I'm hungry in the East Bay, I eat at Lamorinda Pizza.
If you value local and you value your dollar, Lamorinda Pizza is as good as it gets. Â Co-owners Adriana and John McGrath are longtime Lamorindians. Â Adriana attended Acalanes High School in Lafayette (the "La" in Lamorinda, which is a combination of the three city names "Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda."). Â John attended Joaquin Moraga Middle School where the duo now serve hot lunches, as well as Campolindo High School, both in Moraga, CA.
When the Chicken Fiesta pizza was done, we were extremely pleased. Â Homemade crust and sauce, chunks of chicken, sliced green peppers, red onion, loads of cilantro and cheese. Â For the penny-pinching Saint Mary's students, they give a 20% discount with college ID. Â They also offer delivery. Â Lamorinda Pizza in Moraga, CA answers the age-old question: "what's for dinner?"
Had a great 'hand tossed' pizza today and learned why hand tossed is better than pin rolled pizza. The sausage and pepperoni were fresh and full of flavor that you don't find at chain stores. The sauce was great too. My 5 year old ate half the pizza and I ate the other half feeling very satisfied.
Review Source:They've changed their pizza since re-opening, aiming to be more like the thin-crust "East Coast" style. It's not bad, but it's so super-thin that it bothers me. I would prefer a pizza with a little more substance to it.
The prices are in the $15 range -- slightly higher than they were before, but still good for this area (I am so sick of the $22 one-topping pizza that has become the inescapable standard in Orinda-Moraga-Lafayette, even from the franchise places). Remember that it's cash only in its new setup.
This place has amazing deals and delicious pizza. Â
My husband really likes Mt. Mikes (Also in Rheem). Â We have a discount card there and even with the discount Lamorinda Pizza is cheaper. Â The pizza tastes light and the meat and veggies fresh. Â They have definitely earned our family's business!
I'm going to review this as if I was still in high school. They had this deal where it was a one topping large pizza pickup for $8.50. Such an awesome deal. You can divide the one topping into half and half of two toppings. I liked to go with the sausage and pesto.
I've phone ordered pizzas and ate there with friends on their tabletop Ms. Pac-Man arcade.
I don't think I ever had a complaint about this place. I never had them deliver to me. Everyone knows what Lamorinda Pizza is. Their only competitor is Round Table across the street. I always went to Lamorinda.
Yep. I think that's about it.
This was the old standby back in the college days. Â They usually have some sort of deal going for the SMC students. Â All of their pizzas are good, and they are fast. Â It is take out only as the other reviewer put, but otherwise no real negatives. Â The only bad part, was back in the dorm rooms, my roommate would constantly get calls from people ordering pizza who forgot to dial 9 out. Â His number was the first 4 for lamorinda pizzas.
Review Source:*Please note: Â this facility is Take-Out only ! Â Unless you want to eat from the box with it perched on your lap as you sit on the window sill, or while yapping with the doughslingers. Â
**Also note, I haven't had but one pizza here (several times, often starting on the way back to the car, while opening the door, and halfway devoured before starting the engine). Â I highly recommend the pepperoni and jalapeno. Â It's tits and ass TOGETHER. Â Firm buttocks with nipples. Â Â no, that's disturbing. Â Â I really enjoy the taste of this pizza combination. Â Thank you
