This place seems like a beach staple in Reddington Shores. It has a real dives look to it, and always seems to have a crowd on the deck when we go by, probably a lot of regulars! We decided to give it a shot for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. My chicken Philly sandwich and onion rings were very generously portioned and really tasty. The service and vibe really was "friendly." We didn't stay for the karaoke and late night fun, but I am sure we will be back. Definitely a place to try out if you are in the area.
Review Source:Stopped in for the first time on a Saturday..read the reviews and thought we'd check it out. Outside little tiki bar is fun and they are friendly there-the restaurant wasnt busy so i guess thats why the cook hung outside getting hammered on margarita's-he was fun and friendly but it just looks bad bad bad when the staff is drinking and gettin drunk in front of customers. We never had to wait for anything and the service was very good-we had all you can eat chicken-it was ok-not the worst but not the greates either. Coleslaw had that refrigerator taste -blech! Â I'd say this was an ok place-but nothing overly special to where i'd frequent it, i dont think.
Review Source:Stopped by here for drinks and dinner the first Sat nite we were in town and loved the atmosphere. Certainly lived up to its name all week as we stopped in a few more times. Food was bangin' as well, the Seafood bisque was home-made and exploded with flavor. Will definitely return the next time we come down to these parts.
Review Source:A group of us stopped here for karaoke last weekend and it was PACKED with a bunch of semi-pro singers. Parking is a headache but the hassle is worth it. The karaoke host is the best I've met in this area: he's friendly (remembers people's names), keeps a fair rotation and seamless flow of singers up to bat (unlike a lot of drunk KJ's at other local bars that shall go unnamed). The drinks are stiff and reasonably priced (even for a Saturday night). Our waiter was also friendly and attentive despite the crowd. I dont expect much from the food when it's a bar atmosphere like this but holy crap, the grilled club with red pepper mayo was...WOW. I've never been so excited about a sandwich!
Review Source:4 stars for the fish sandwich - blackened Mahi was the largest slab of fish I ever had on a bun. Delicious is an understatement! Slaw was not soggy which is the way I like it. Beef quesadilla was enormous and had great flavor. The only thing that needed help - drink size was small and light on the liquor in most cases, but the bartender and locals make this place a true friendly tavern...
Review Source:Ultimate local dive bar. Really cheap drinks. Tons of seating. & You may get a discount if you have your AARP card handy. Ok... I'm just kidding about the last part. But just a heads up, if you are in your early twenties and looking for a hip bar, generic people, and pop music, look somewhere else. If you can embrace this place for the divey goodness that it is, then you will have a good time.
I didn't get any food here, but looking at other's plates, it looked as though the food here may be pretty good bar food. I shall return to make my own decision.
I had a great time. The service was great (friendly ;) and my buffalo wings were delicious. This was the most fun I've ever had watching karoake. Everybody sang great and chose great songs. Fun loving people, good food, cheap beer, and endless entertainment. Make sure to stop in if you're in the area.
Review Source:I'm a local and used to live down the street from The Friendly. Â Always a cool place to hang out and the karaoke was always fun for all. Â We would even go there for breakfast and read the paper - very laid back. Â The food is good, local fare, and priced right. Â You might bring the kiddies for a burger during the day, but leave them home in the late afternoon - going into evening. Â It's a local haunt and people want to gather and have FUN - not see some tourist's kid fall off a bar stool because nobody was watching her (seen it happen). Â Anyway - good food, good price, good people, good time! Â Enjoy!
Review Source:The waiter was very nice and my only experience was a goooood fish (Mahi Mahi) sandwich. The TVs were washed out and hard to see, but no big deal.
EDIT: Went back for the all you can eat crab legs - $20 - FANTASTIC! Fast service and tasty legs. The green beans were canned though, eww.
