Laser wolf? Who came up with that name? It's freaking awesome!
We walked in pretty late and only had time for 1 drink. I noticed Nirvana playing which is always a plus in my book. I ordered a drink called Zombie Killer made with mead. It was delicious. I'm not a beer drinker so i appreciate the fact that they have drinks like this. The decor was funky and interesting.

I've come here a couple a times and each time I have a great time. A friendly group of people and it's always interesting talking to others while having a fantastic beer

And the air conditioning is fantastic indoors.. at least on Wednesday nights

I have stopped at this place about three times in the last year.
First time just to check it out.
The second, to pee and for a quick night cap.
The third, with a friend- I wanted his opinion.

My first visit was a disappointment. This place is small with few places to sit. The person behind the bar gave me the condescending and overly pompous beer snob attitude.

My second visit was a quick one. I used their facilities than entered the bar only to find a full house (probably 20 people but with a place this small...) so I left.

Which brings me to the other day.
Me and my friend went there last Friday around 6ish. There was about six patrons wandering about. One was trying to get an ancient video game working- plus in my book. Another was watching a horror movie on TV- another plus. The person behind the bar was helpful and friendly. He answered our beer questions without attitude and we both settled in for a tasting.

Good points:
Location is great with a fantastic old building on a corner location.
Not a sports bar- they show movies.

Bad points:
Small, like apartment party small.
9 beers on tap and had no idea what they were.
Price: Looked the the cheapest brew was $5+.
Lots of selection in bottles- none that I recognized.
Parking is on the street- like in the hood.

Some facts about me- I like beer. I like to drink. I don't like to pretend I am the wine connoisseur of the working class. I just want a cold one at a nice price. Not some unknown limited addition IPA in a specialty designed glass for $8. If the hipster tattoo crowd wants to sit around and impress each other talking about the meaning of fermentation this is the place to do it. I am sure this place is a better alternative to all the plaid shirt grunge throwbacks to throw away a twenty dollar bill on two beers than to spend it on another piercing.

I don't want to make a statement,
I just want a beer.

I don't know how the term "dive bar" gets bandied about these days; this place is definitely not a dive. Laser Wolf, is more of a locals only spot, nestled on the far corner of a building facing the train tracks; unless you were looking for it, it would be hard to find. They have local brews, micro brews, craft beers; everything from P.B.R to a Cucumber Saison. If they don't have it, they can point you in the direction of a competent substitute. What other "Dive Bar" has its own in-house Cicerone? Kick back and watch some crazy movies, listen to some good tunes, enjoy the SNES on the black and white T.V. in the corner of the room or sniff out some captivating conversation. They have also begun hosting art shows and pop-up shops on select weekends, which can really pack the place. However, with a lack of house music and sports on the T.V. the douche factor is minimal if nonexistent. If you get beer munchies, they usually have any number of food trucks on hand. It's nice to see local businesses working together. Their motto is: No jerks, Yes beers. I can get behind that.

People keep calling this a dive bar. This is not a dive bar. If you think its a dive bar, you have never lived in a state where cows are tipped for fun.

I adore Laser Wolf. It may look a little intimidating sitting in the dark corner by the railroad tracks, but intimidating it is not! Go up to the bar, tell the bartender what you like in a beer and be prepared discover some new loves. Or just look up at the chalkboard menu full of great brews and find an old favorite. Either way, you'll have no problem drinking beer, and this is, after all, what you came here to do, right?

Seating inside is limited. Seating outside can also be limited. Beer is abundant.

This place is definitely my go-to bar and it doesn't ever get old going there. The craft beer selection is amazing at definitely fair prices. They usually have some good jams playing or a local DJ. Usually a food truck around if you want some snacks. Perfect outdoor area if the weather is nice, and a great indoor space with a good vibe. The mix of people you see is eclectic, and everyone is having a laid back good time. The best part its in the FAT Village area so you don't have to worry about the downtown hassle. One rule: no jerks allowed.

I've heard about this place a lot and my mental picture was of some hipster haven where I would barely escape with my life. Not because someone else would kill me, but because I would want to commit suicide the second I walked in the door. I almost broke off my relationship with a friend of mine when he chose Laser Wolf as his birthday party spot.

Thankfully, I set my fears aside and experienced all the amazing-ness that is Laser Wolf. The decor is fascinating, lots of yummy beer selections and staff available that actually can offer educated suggestions on what to try, and I'm pretty sure I ascended to heaven momentarily just from the smells coming from the food truck that stopped by.

Ft Laudi, we like to party! We don't cause trouble and we don't bother nobody.

Have you ever been? This is like my favorite little dive bar. It has expanded in crowd and interaction over the past few years. They now have foods trucks outside which is perf. Laser wolf is a small bar which a huge selection of crafted beers, saki and wine. Liquor enthusiast please seek elsewhere, but even YOU would grab a brew or two here. They have outside sitting in the front and around the side.

I learned recently that in the grass open area furthur down on the side, my friend set up a booth and DJ'ed there with a great crowd. Kudos bro! I love it here. Great beertenders, awesome people, and super chill ambiance.

Oh, sometimes you may catch the train passing by.

AWESOME! love the location and vibe of this place! they have an AMAZING selection of beer to choose on draft and bottles (most of which doesn't cost more than $6) which nowadays is pretty good for my taste. If you have not visited the WOLF, do yourself a favor and GO! if you have then GOOD JOB!

Chock full of hipsters but a rock solid beer joint. Laser Wolf may just be the best damn beer bar in South Florida. Not the biggest, not the best selection but the best combination of atmosphere, selection, service and clientele (well at least the after work/early eve crowd).

They also attract some of the BEST food trucks in the area. If you love craft beer and either live in or are visiting SoFlo you need to stop by Laser Wolf.

Awesome bar - off the beaten path near some train tracks. If you are a craft brew/microbrew fan, you will inevitably find something you like here. The place is small, with limited seating, but they do have tables outside and in a nice landscaped courtyard. Definitely not your typical Ft Lauderdale/South Florida bar.

Also, when I went on a Thursday night, there was a hot dog cart outside - so they may have food vendors on most nights.

I love this hidden little spot. They have a variety of good beers. It is most certainly hipster perfection. It reminds me of a good college beer/ coffee shop. You go here for good beer. Period. Bring a cluster a friends to sit and gab with or even just solo.

It is small and the location is not far from downtown. Make it the gathering spot before going downtown.

This place is pretty awesome, it's great to see such a good bar in such an atypical place. I came here on a Thursday and it wasn't too crowded was able to find a few seats out back and enjoy the weather with some tasty beer. The place is kinda small so I could imagine it getting packed pretty easily. They have a good variety of beer both on tap and bottled and it's not too expensive, but it's not dirt cheap either. Prices vary on the beer you pick.

The music was good, some old school rap/hip hop from Back That Ass Up by Juvenile to Da Dip by Freak Nasty, it was a good time. There's artwork everywhere! According to Yelp it's a dive bar but the artwork adds a lot of personality to the place, it doesn't feel like a dive bar at all, it's reminiscent of the more artsy hipster bars of BK. The people who run the place are pretty awesome, had a fun convo with the guys behind the bar and one of them ended up giving my friend and I some fireworks hah. If you're in the area I would definitely recommend you stop by.

I moved to Fort Lauderdale a few months ago and found this place via Yelp.

For me, Laser Wolf is a first-rate place. Most of all, I like the bartenders, the music, and the atmosphere. I also dig that the people who frequent are friendly. The beer selection is vast, and you are encouraged to taste a variety of beers on draught before making a selection.

I am perplexed as to how someone could perceive the staff as unfriendly-- they have all been nothing but generous and welcoming to me.

When a sign on the wall says "Jerk Free Workplace Since...." and they have literally erased and updated the amount of days since their last firing... you know you have walked into a true beer geeks bar. We love jerks. Wait, I take that back; We love real people and let's be honest most people are jerks. If I were to ever own a beer bar I would want it to be like Laser Wolf. An off the cut, tiny place, not so attractive from the outside, with limited seating, and a stellar beer list... A place that says "If you don't want to deal with us as we are then you don't really want to be here!" and that is exactly what Laser Wolf says. Come on in, order a beer, have a seat (if a seat is available) and don't act like a douche bag. There are great beer bars in FL that have the same mentality, the "take us or leave us, we could care less" mentatlity. In Orlando its Redlight, in South Beach its Abraxas and now in Fort Lauderdale its Laser Wolf.
Laser Wolf is the type of bar that is helping make Fort Lauderdale a place to go for great beer and we can't thank them enough.

I really wish this place wasn't so expensive, but every time I go here I leave feeling cheated. But if you have a more expandable income than myself then this place would be nice for you. They have a vast selection of beverages, but the downside is that there is no food unless the food truck is there.

The last time I was there, they had a organic hamburger food truck and it was one of the best burgers that I have tasted in my measly 23 years of living. The food truck was expensive though, but I felt full and happy, and I will have a grand poop session the next morning.

I ended up at this little joint on a night out with my sister (shouts to Wendy B) and her college buds. The oddly strange (that's redundant but this place is both odd and strange... at the same damn time) art on the walls, in combination with the zombie european porn playing on the television behind the bar (I kid you not, they were playing a film called Virgin Among the Living Dead... google it, it exists... and they were playing it... I don't tell lies) gives Laser Wolf a certain je ne sais quoi. Definitely an interesting crowd. I can't speak for the music playing because I was too distracted by the zombie porn, to notice if they were even playing music. They only serve beer and wine. Ladies, don't go to Laser Wolf and ask for Moscato. The bartender's response when asked for a glass of Moscato was, "I don't know what that is"... he wasn't very friendly either. The wine list is limited.... Pinot and Cab; you get whatever brand they have...it wasn't bad wine, though. Prices are normal, and vibe is very laid back. There's only one bathroom, but it doesn't seem like this place gets crowded enough for that to ever cause a problem.

Will I be back? I mean, probably not... but I did have a good time on the night that I went. If you like dive bars where you can rock your converse sneakers and a t-shirt, check this spot out. then chances are you'll love it. As for Laura B, not my cup of tea.

Far and away the best bar in Ft. Lauderdale. A true oasis in the d-bag desert of south Florida. Cool decor and a beautiful courtyard-style patio. Beer selection is top notch. Try a can of Florida Cracker, a Belgian white ale from Cigar Hill brewery in Tampa. It's got hints coriander and citrus. You'll love it.

If that's not enough, their new bartender Jacques is one of the most exceptional humans you will ever come across. To hang out with him while enjoying fine libations is a true privilege.

If you want a taste of the real Ft. Laudy, skip the downtown circus and get your ass here ASAFP.

"That place is full of f#*%ing HIPSTERS!" said the atypical bro-dude, after we were about to tell him of our magically delicious evening at Laser Wolf. Yes, the vast majority of the patrons there had skinny pants and some sort of facial hair. Conversations overheard were of intelligent design. Painted skateboard decks adorned the walls. The indie gods of the 21-38 age bracket were on the walls (Steve Jobs and Bill F'in Murray). Apocalypse Now was on the TV.

Some would call this a "hipster bar", which would undoubtedly offend the patrons. But dude...it's a hipster bar. Which is fine. The atmosphere is laid-back, creeper-free, the music was awesome (90s hiphop groups doing Christmas songs). So yes, hipster. So what? There was a 50 year old woman wearing a dress suit in there and the bartenders were treating her like she had a beard and Vans on.

I could have left my beer unattended and not have gotten roofied. The beer selection was stunning; apparently the draught taps swap out on the reg because we just missed 120 Minute IPA on draught. If you know beer, you know that's f'in crazy.

To conclude this disastrous review of a magnanimous place, me likey. Me go back again. Mmmmmm.

Incredibly friendly & knowledgeable staff. Awesome environment. Probably the best beer bar in Ft. Lauderdale. If they had a kitchen, they'd get that 5th star, but they do compensate be having food trucks on site all the time, so... All & all, an awesome place!

I was helping a friend study for the Quantitative section of the GRE in exchange for beer, when an old skool question about the laws of integers popped up. "I can't remember does a negative multiplied by a negative equal a positive?" I tried to explain it by relating to our surroundings.

"Looking into a laser can boil the aqueous membrane that protects your eyeballs..NEGATIVE. We saw 'The Grey' together, wolves are just smelly dogs you can't pet..NEGATIVE. Laserwolves protect humans by running in packs while using their light vision to tear zombies to ribbons..POSITIVE!

(-laser) x (-wolf) = +laserwolf

Laser Wolf is really a bar that has a little something for everyone, except liquor. There's wine for the ladies, sake for Japanophiles, cider for kids, and crafty brews for everyone. A special note on cider, it's a gateway beverage. Everyone loves it, you just have to find out if they prefer the dry or sweet variety. It has the same alcohol percentage as your standard Big 3 Miller/Coors/Bud but more flavor. Start people that "don't do beer" on cider until they grow a palate.

PARKING - When my friend pulled up and rolled down her windows she asked me, "Which of these rape zones should I park in? Pittsburgh [railroad tracks], Buffalo [junk yard] or Cleveland [dilapidated warehouse]?" True the area isn't swanky but I'd prefer to keep paying $5 for double digit ABV beer.

DÉCOR - It's a purposely designed dive with artwork with titles like 'Saint Steve Jobs' and 'Manicorn Glamour Shot' While you're at it you might as well grab some chalk and do what your parents always forbade and doodle on the walls. I just hope you're not easily offended because I don't know who draws more offensive graffiti, the patrons or the staff.

MUSIC - If you make conversation and have boobs or consistently tip your bartender he'll play whatever tickles your fancy. Last time I was feenin' for some 80's punk so he played The Misfits, Body Count and Black Flag --

http://www.youtube.com/w…

$35 and a six pack to my name...SIX PACK!

SERVICE - I've only met three of the bartenders, two brothers/owners and my favorite Dave H. aka DJ Commissioner. He'll know your favorite beer by how you describe your family dog, knows where to get the best roti (he's a white Trini after all) and how to put a gaping hole in a brand new Lexus.

The only problem I have is my friends always confuse the name and get lost or we have conversations like this --

Hazer Wolf? No, he's the douchey upperclasswolf that terrorizes pledges during 'rush week'.

Blazer Wolf? No, he's only the most fashionable canis about town.

You're blowing it if you go anywhere else.
And if you drink Coors Light, well, you've got problems.

+Huge variety of beers.
+Great relaxed atmosphere yet it's perfect for mingling when it gets full.
+Music is varied as much as the beer.
+Courtyard in the back, Food Trucks make regular appearances.
+You'll meet all kinds of people while avoiding (sometimes) the regular douches that hang out at regular FTL bars.
+Awesome place to relax with a few pints or go big with your friends.
+No Jerks, Great Staff!

Laser Wolf! I've been procrastinating about espousing my honest opinion of this wonderful watering hole, but now I'm putting pen to paper to extol its virtues and perhaps give some criticism. I haven't been to Laser Wolf since April of this year, so I had to go back to see what, if anything, had changed. Nothing had changed, at least nothing worth mentioning. One great thing about Laser Wolf is that there's a beer to appease the taste of any and every beer geek.

The vast majority of the beer they stock is American craft; you won't find very many imports here, although they do have a few. If I had to guess, I'd say they carry at least 100 brews, which is remarkable considering the relatively small space they work in. Their fridges are full of a great many delectable higher ABV brews like Double IPA's, Barleywines, Strong Ales, and Imperial Pilsners. Their marketing slogan is "No Jerks, Yes Beers" and I must say, this is probably my seventh time here and I have yet to encounter a real jerk. However, I have encountered many excellent, creative, unusual, and off-the-wall beers here. In other words, disregard Germany's "Reinheitsgebot" when drinking here.

Chris and Jordan Bellus are the owners of this bar, and one of them (at least in my experience) is always there. They're easy to approach (they're totally not jerks), friendly, and carry with them in their awesome brains a vast, extensive knowledge of the craft beer scene. They'd be happy to recommend something to you if you briefly describe what type or brand of beer you're into.

As far as your fellow bar patrons are concerned, you'll "get out of it what you put into it", for instance, if you go to Laser Wolf, order a beer, and act all detached, aloof, and withdrawn, you're probably not going to have as good of a time as you would if you make small talk for shits an' giggles with your craft-beer-drinking ilk. The walls of this place are decked out with lots of intriguing "outsider art". While you're here, I highly encourage you to get up, walk around (try not to stumble), and closely inspect each unique piece.

Man. As far as parking is concerned, I just don't know; reason being that I don't own a motorcoach. I just chain my beach cruiser to the stop sign post. If trains tickle your fancy, there's a train track just across the street, and often, one can hear the furious euphony of freight flying by. Johnny Cash would be proud. Another great thing about this place is that all of their beers are very reasonably priced. Where else can you get a Stone IPA or Rogue "American Amber Ale" for a paltry five bucks?! I have no idea.

One bummer is that they never play any ska/reggae music, and I've yet to hear any rockabilly/folkcore/blues/roots music there, either. I guess those sort of genres are relegated to Five Points Lounge? Probably. Also, they don't stock any Sierra Nevada brews. I guess I feel sort of nostalgic about Sierra Nevada because their flagship Pale Ale got me into craft beer waaay-back-when. Still, S.N. can be found these days at most bars that serve a halfway-decent pick o' brews, and although still an outstanding beer that's endured the test of time, it just might not be unique enough for Laser Wolf.

In conclusion, the "right on!" factor grossly outnumbers the "bummer" factor. If you're at all into beers that are currently "changing the game" in the craft brewing scene, a few "avant-garde ales", as well as some old standbys by renown American craft breweries such as Dogfish Head, Victory, Stone, and Rogue, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Update, 12/29 - Although I initially gave Laser Wolf four stars, I threw the fifth star in because this place is everything a craft beer bar should be, even sans Sierra Nevada and my fave musical genres. Long live The Laser Wolf!

The one thing I love about Laser Wolf is the one thing I had been desperately searching for around Fort Lauderdale ever since I moved away from the area for college --a hip, young adult bar with a relaxed vibe. It doesn't sound like much to ask for, but as a few other Yelpers have pointed out, in the South Florida area the atmosphere of most bars really seems to lean heavily towards an older, more sophisticated crowd (which of course means $20 tiny drinks).

Well the good thing is you won't find $20 tiny drinks at Laser Wolf. Yes, most of the beers will run you around $5, but honestly that is the standard price when it comes to craft beer. The extra dollar or so you pay basically means that you get the choice to try delicious brews such as the vanilla porter that I had which was indeed delicious. If you are not a beer drinker, there is also cider, sake, and wine to sip on.

But besides the beverages, I greatly enjoy the fact that there is free parking (and plenty of it, just make sure that you pull in to the lot on the left-hand side right after you turn in on the corner). Also, the corner lot location across from the train tracks really lends to the urban vibe of this bar. And if that feel isn't quite to your taste, there is even a lush green courtyard out in the center of the business complex that the bar is located in.

On top of everything else I enjoyed about Laser Wolf on my first visit, our bartender was also highly attentive and accommodating. I never once felt like I was at some uptight hipster bar where I was unwanted.

PS: If you use the restroom, watch out for sharks.

Too expensive. We paid $10 for two lagers (the only ones they carried that day). I like the concept and look of the place, but it's surrounded by a train track, a used car lot and nothing else. This would be a better fit in an area like Lake Worth, where there's at least a semblance of a "scene."

If you're going to pass yourself off as a beer bar, you need to carry a variety for all palates. Sure, lager isn't every beer snob's first choice, but not everyone's out for a round of stouts or IPAs. You need to pander a bit to your clientele.

I don't think I'm going to return unless I hear they've stepped up their selection.

Sick of skanks, douche bags and fist pumping? Are you tired of paying 15 bucks to park on a Friday or Saturday night? Not getting in at the door because your shirt isn't bedazzled enough? Say bye bye to Downtown Ft. Lauderdale and say hello hello to LASER WOLF, your friendly neighborhood beer bar. Don't come here expecting to order a bud light, corona or the budgeted hipster's favorite, PBR. Craft and microbrewery beer, sake and wine is what you'll find. Plain and simple.

The two barmen/brothers, Chris and Jordan, are friendly, welcoming and knowledgable when it comes to interacting with patrons and trying to find the right craft beer for you. Yeah, yeah, this place is labeled as hipster city, but who cares? Would you rather be a resident of Douche Town? I didn't think so. There's a good mix of people who come to Laser Wolf and every night is a great night here. From the local DJs spinning records, internet meet ups and someone selling vintage clothes and boutique-esque items -- to themed holiday parties and food trucks parked outside, there's always something going on here. Not to mention the quirky, fun, disgusting B-Movie flicks constantly playing on the flat screen above the bar.

So come on down, say hey and get drunk off of some high ABV, delicious beers. As my good friend John always says: "I come for the beer and stay for the train." You'll know what he means if you decide to sit outside.

Went for a second time to meet friends. This will be the last for many of us.
Seems the bar keeps the lower price beers warm so you have very little choice but buy a more expensive beer you are not interested in.
The So-called Bartender's / BEER TUB servers don't care about much except talking.
And don't bother asking them anything. A lot of nasty attitude. and a very selective service. They are screening the people they want in their bar. if you don't fit their style or friendship you might as well get ready to wait at the Bar for a LONG WHILE.

So if your thinking of Hitting this place Good Luck.

This place has a cool name, good beer selection, awesome bathroom, cool wall art and overall it's got a nice fun yet mellow vibe.

With that said, this is 100% a hipster bar. If you are not comfortable around tattoos or hats then this place will not be for you.

Also, the seating inside is very limited so bring a jacket during the cooler winter months.

I really won't down rate it yet except I have removed it from my "Best of the Best" list. It started off with a bang, but it would appear complacency is becoming evident. The last several times I've stopped, they haven't had the beers available that I enjoyed in the past and pretty much had a ho hum attitude about it. No explanation, no suggestions of another beer. Just a blunt "We don't have any" and then merely going back to bullshitting with one of his buddies seated at the bar, so I merely got up and left.

It's a lousy way to treat a customer; matter of fact rather downright rude. Maybe he was having a bad day but maybe in fact he is just as much of a jerk as he appeared to be. I'll try again and see, then report back.

It has the sounds of a rocking 80's band. For that reason alone, it exudes pure awesomeness, but that is not the only reason why it made of awesomeness.

Laser Wolf is definitely off the beaten path in a commercial neighborhood next to the railroad tracks and for that it is awesomeness.

Enough about the oddities that make it awesomeness and on to the real reason why it earns its awesomeness. Its the beer selection, down to earth ambiance, and the knowledgeable staff.

Fort Lauderdale certainly has been lacking on great beer spots and finally it has one with affordable beer prices. They offer multiple Victory Brewing beers and Rouge Brewing beers. As a beer lover, you cannot go wrong with beers made by those brewing companies. At Laser, there is a beer for everyone.

If you do not know what to get, all you need to do is ask the staff. They always make great recommendations and to boot, they are very friendly.

If you want a laid-back ambiance, fantastic staff, clean bathrooms, and rocking beer then Laser Wolf has your name written all over it.

The bf is a huge fan of craft beer so we decided to stop in Laser Wolf on Friday night for a few drinks before dinner. The venue is actually really cool. It literally a small room in an old building that has bar seating and a few tables outside so its cozy. They weree playing old movies on the tv which was kind of fun and went with the vibe of the place but some scenes made me a little uncomfortable ha but I'm not their average client so its ok. Definitely a hole in a wall chill man spot. We wanted to split one of the bigger beers and the bartender was really helpful with recommendations.

All in all, if my bf had it his way we'd go back every night but I'm not in quite as big of a rush.

I was a fan of Laser Wolf before even showing up, because, well, it's called Laser Wolf. It didn't disappoint, either. Located outside downtown in a nearly abandoned area by the train track, it's an interesting place.

The beer is good, and it's cheap. A bunch of IPAs on tap, bottled craft beers, and a wine selection, though I didn't drink any wine. Happy hour special was 2-4-1 Oktoberfest brews.

They also play great tunes, with LCD Soundsystem, Fleet Foxes, The Black Keys, and The Faint all chiming in during my time at the bar.

No frills, no gimmicks. Just an easy place to sit and drink with your friends. I will definitely be returning.

Want a Patron shot and a Corona? Hit up Himmarshee St -- there's nothing here for you, bro.

If you haven't heard, Laser Wolf is the laid-back beer bar half a mile away from the congestion and confusion of Riverfront. It's one of Fort Lauderdale's few places that serve good beer and no bullshit. It's small, curved and quaint, but lined with wide windows, it exposes iron tables, passing trains and the Mother F-ing party going on inside. Truthfully, it takes me back to the Brooklyn dive bars where I used to drink $2 PBRs until I passed out -- except, this time of year New York is cold and gloomy, while this place has an outside patio where you can pick up tattooed chicks in 70-degree weather. Did I mention they have a 2-4-1 happy hour? They do -- and it's delicious.

The last thing the owners and most of the patrons want is Laser Wolf to be categorized as a hipster bar--understandable, as the first rule of being a hipster is completely denying that you're a hipster. But after living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for the last three years, I feel I have an undisputed grasp on what a hipster is (Williamsburg is to hipsters as Mecca is to Muslims) and well, this is a hipster bar -- an inviting one (the name alone is porn to progressives). But just because there are more skinny jeans here than steroid users, does not mean it's not an awesome bar-- because it is. Actually from now on, please use that as the definition of an awesome bar.

Skinny Jeans less than Steroids = This place sucks! Why do all the bartenders have fake tans?
Skinny Jeans more than Steroids = This place is awesome! Why does that guy have a tattoo of a pirate ship on his face?

When it comes down to it, where are you going to get 60+ craft beers in a Fort Lauderdale setting that bumps music, but stays mellow? If you're tired of Bud Blah, Miller Meh and Coors Craps, stop convincing yourself that you like the bars you're currently going to and start coming out to Laser Wolf. With or without you, I'll be there -- discussing everything except social politics, bands that were better before they were famous and how American Apparel has sold out since they went public.

A Wolf + A Laser = A Great Time

Who: You and that girl with the tattoos. Tell her you're into The Smiths.

What: 2-4-1 on selected draft beer (they only sell craft beer, nine continually rotating on draft and another 60+ bottles, wine and sake).

Where: 901 Progresso Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL

When: 5pm-8pm, Monday-Friday.

How: With a degree from art school. Just kidding, they'll love you even if you dropped out.

Great beer bar in Ft. Lauderdale. Away from Downtown/Las Olas, so does not have the pretentious vibe. No vodka/redbull, Ed Hardy wearing here. Very laid back place with an awesome beer selection which- until very recently- was not super common around FtL. The owners/bar tenders are very cool and beer-knowledgeable.

My only con is that the inside layout is a little awkward. There isn't enough seating inside (although there's plenty outside) and there's this odd open space in the middle of the room. It's an old building, so it's a weird shape but it adds character. I think they could change the layout, maybe add benches and coffee tables around the edges to cozy it up a bit. I love darts, but where the board is located just doesn't make sense.

Either way, it's a great place if you love beer and a great place to go with friends, chill, and have good conversation.

Started going here around May and this place continues to exceed my expectations every time. I had heard some negative reviews and I was a little nervous it was gonna be a dude/bro fratty hangout. It couldn't be more of the opposite. Awesome owners that actually talk with you about beer and aren't snobbish, The decor is really hipster with out being hipster..ish , probably an even better outdoor area and really REALLY good American craft beers. (plus they have Ayinger Celebrator...one of my faves that's not an A.C.B.)Probably the best prices as well on all their beers! They just got a pretty favorable review in the big local (meaning non indy) newspaper so I expect an influx of business for them (hopefully minus the D-bags). They also have great DJs playing all the time including Mikey R from Radioactive records.

If your hungry there is Truckin good pizza there on the weekends.

LASER WOLF! This bar won my heart last night with its delicious sake and awesome beer selection. My boyfriend and I just got back from Colorado, home of the craft brew, and were jonesing for some good beer when we found this place.

Clean, great atmosphere, nice bartenders/owners, chill crowd, great music by the live dj...I'm sold and this will be my new go to bar. Screw Downtown and Las Olas...unless your douchebag...then please feel free to stay downtown and away from my new favorite bar!

Half empty bar the size of a bedroom with 2 bartenders and I can't get served. I thought I finally found a bar among the strip malls and palm trees that actaully seemed my style.

Do these assholes even know that Lazar Wolf was a character in Fiddler on the Roof?

Oh, Laser Wolf (LW).

i was afraid to enter the doors the first time (actually put it off a few weeks), because i have been a local post-work beer guzzler at FatCats a few years now.

my fear: falling in love with (FINALLY) a "beer only" bar in Fort Lauderdale. aaaaannndddd i did fall in love with LW (Sake & Wine served too).

PERKS (of which there are no opposite):
+ owners are laid back & rad

+ beers (bottle/tap) change frequently & are delicious

+ good music

+ provides a link to the local music & art scene

+ located in a bombass historic building

+ you can be sure to always run into a friend (just beware if you are dating a new lady/guy and wish to bring them there chances are high that old and new worlds will collide)

+ clientele are all friendly, supportive and for the most part don't muck up the communal bathroom

+ the mug club and it's leather-bound book ('book of the dead')

+ dart board

+ bike friendly

i've experienced nothing but good energy at LW. to all beer lovers i am sure you will experience the same so be sure to check it out!

p.s. i wouldn't necessarily categorize this place as a "dive". it's a solid beer bar, that's what it is.

p.s.s. Don c/o Fattiez... you still own a piece of my heart.
