My favorite breakfast spot in Indy! Kind of a dive on the inside, but the food and staff are great. The kitchen always turns out the best food and eggs cooked just the way you order them.
This is definitely the best of the La Peeps in the city, and the variety on the menu always has me coming back.
My favorites are the biscuits and gravy with two eggs over medium on top, the battered french toast is AMAZING, and when I'm in the mood for spicy it's the skillet with chorizo sausage. Also, they have coffee with REAL cream. Not those nasty non-dairy creamer cups.
They have something for everyone here!
This place is a local favorite. Â Always packed, but keeps you coming back for the food and the service.
Take out is just as good as dine in, especially for the salads. Â This summer they had a spinach salad with beans, corn, chicken, bbq sauce and ranch. . . amazing!
As far as the breakfasts, I stick to the egg dishes. Â Something with jalapenos, avocados, potatoes, cheese and covered in two sunny side up eggs. The dishes are always a heaping portion and well seasoned. Â Once you try it, pick up an entree punch card, because it won't be long until you are getting your 10th brunch free!
I'd go a 3.5- their pancakes push them up a bit
Call me crazy, but I don't think breakfast needs to be anything elaborate or fancy. Â For me, a good breakfast is just your simple meat and potatoes, and pancakes, and eggs, and.... well you get the idea.
My wife and I came out here last Sunday around the brunch time hour. Â We're still looking for a breakfast joint, and this place wasn't too far, so we checked it out.
Not a bad little joint, as we rolled up, the place was packed. Â That's a good sign right? Â Mostly families coming here, we did end up getting seated next to some bikers, but bikers in the tamest sense of the word. Â We got seated in the annex, which wasn't all that warm. Â Our server was friendly and fast.
Evidently this place is well known for their omlettes. Â With that in mind, both my wife and I ordered one. Â I got the all inclusive omlette (sausage, bacon, ham, and veggies) while the wife got a country omlette with sausage, cheese, and doused in gravy. Â In addition to that, we ordered their blueberry and granola pancakes. Â When we ordered the triple stack, our server looked at us as though we were crazy (due to the amount of food). Â We figured why not go all out.
Our food came out quickly and without issues. Â I gotta say, I wasn't that impressed with their omlettes. Â They were good, but I feel like I could've made them at home. Â The pancakes on the other hand were very tasty. Â either my wife or I could have probably ordered them as a meal. Â By the time we were done with all of our food, we were breathing somewhat heavily.
Overall- Portions were a good size, and the price wasn't ridiculous. Â I dunno, I'd say this place was good, not great. Â I can't say it's worth the wait, or even the drive, but they must be doing something right to have people waiting for a table. Â Perhaps it has something to do with their proximity to the mall. Â I dunno. Â I doubt we'll be going abck.
Chuck Norris rating- jaws of life
