I hate down town and avoid it like the plague however I was happy to see a non Brazilian place there and high hopes for it based on the good reviews. It was pretty terrible, and at closer review all the good reviews are pretty old - that explains my disappointment.

When we walked in we were the only ones in the bar. The bartender was nice enough but the cook was sitting in a chair and looked po'd we were there and like he just got out of prison.

My first let down was the menu - there were no signs of shepherds pie or bangers and mash as other yelpers have talked about, but oh well not a huge deal. The menu is very small and limited to basically just chicken apps, nachos, chili, chicken sandwiches, and one burger. I asked about the other items I had read about and they seemed to not know what I was talking about and the cook thought real hard and said they may have had them over a year ago. We ordered buffalo chicken fingers and chili. They were out of blue cheese so they offered ranch which was fine. We ordered a beer and waited for our food. And waited. And waited and waited.

While we were waiting a few other couples came in that appeared to be regulars so we weren't alone anymore.

About 40 minutes after we ordered our food finally arrived. the waitress apologized that it took so long but everything was turned off in the kitchen so it took awhile (I assume she meant the fryer). This wouldn't have been a huge deal but she should have said something to prepare us for the wait when we ordered.   The chicken was just obviously frozen from a bag then fried. The chili arrived with a glob of congealed cheese on top. Both items were ice cold which was inexcusable: (a) the cook should have called for the waitress or brought it out himself or (b) the waitress should have checked on our Damn food. We let her know it was cold and she apologized and brought it back into the kitchen. A few minutes later it arrived back hot. It was edible but not very good. As I mentioned the chicken was obviously not made from scratch and the cheese on the chili was now gone(?) And was pretty bland and tasted like glue. The waitress took them both off the bill without us asking since they were cold. I would never return though.

limey's is wicked pissa.  I really like the bartenders, the fish and chips and the bar glasses.  it's worth the trip.

Seems like a cool place, except I'm here on a Tuesday and the "kitchen is closed" so the bar tender can only cook fried food. What the hell? Isn't this a restaurant.

I have been back a few times and after reading a few reviews on the burger I am going to have to come back for one.

As for the nightlife it is a bit hit or miss.  I have been on a night where there is a band and it is really fun.  Other times it has been awkward and we have wanted to pay our tab upfront and take off.  I feel like this place could benefit from some regular schedule of entertainment.  Comedy night, trivia, spelling bee!  Whatever.

The beer selection could also be expanded. I dig the Magners and also a few of the other brews. The service has always been good when I go there.  This past visit the bartender just seemed to want to leave.  There was a random Limeys shirt hanging near the bar.  When the bartender was asked about it he replied no one has bought one and I don't even know where to find them.  Nice.  Just get rid of it?

Just walked in and out in 30 seconds. The sign (on a sat night) that read kitchen closed at 6pm due to holiday party was enough to make me want to run away from this dive. There were also 6 other people inside on a Saturday night do ugh...limeys isn't doing so well...

I shouldn't even write a review; I don't want this place getting popular because I want to keep it all to myself!

Their Limey Burger has cheese, bacon, and a fried egg. Fries are handcut and delicious. I've also tried the wings, which were awesome.

Inside is nice and clean. They went for an English pub feel with the decorations. In the back is a pool table and a dart board (we love playing darts here!).

We've come to Limey's plenty of times, as it's within walking distance to our house, and it's ALWAYS a ghost town. Even during the Bruins playoffs, the place was never more than half full. On particularly slow nights, only 3 or 4 regulars (usually friends of the bartender) are there. One time, we walked in and they had hooked up someone's iPod to the sound system to play hardcore metal. And the TV was turned to a movie. It was a little like walking in uninvited to a party. However, they were very friendly and accommodating, and quickly turned it to regular bar music and sports on the television. One of the frequent bartenders gets a little frazzled when someone orders a cocktail since most patrons just get beer. Be patient, she'll probably have to look it up in the Bartender Drink Guide (I've seen this happen, lol).

Go there. Everyone is friendly and the food is great.

Limey's is a cozy looking room, but the food and beer are both on the bland side.  There are pubs in the area with better food and delicious craft beers on tap (John Harvard's, Stone's), so even though there's nothing horribly wrong with Limey's, I probably won't return very frequently.  In their defense, they're probably targeting a college/singles crowd and aren't aiming for food and beer lovers so it may be unfair to judge them with that scale.

Well i had been wanting to visit this bar since i moved to framingham 6 months ago and am i glad i finally did.
Fellow yelpers really did lead me there. Nice pub atmosphere and the bartender kelly is super friendly. Food is good try their specials too which are off the menu and delicious.
They have a band playing every Friday i dnt know about the other days and its mostly a different band all the time except the last Friday of the month.
Just give this place a try next time you around.
I love the place and recommend it

Went in for a beer. Did not try the food. Beer (boddingtons) was gross. I didn't even finish it. BF said it tasted stale/old and probably dirty taps.
Place itself looked dirty, although the waitress sprayed down the adjacent table with a very strong smelling cleaning spray. Yuck.
The bartender was very nice and welcoming.
    We will not be back.

Clearly, I am in the minority here with my lack of love 'o the Limey.  I went to this place once and I don't anticipate giving it a second shot.  I lovingly nicknamed Limey's "Slimey's".

The faux brick decor lacked ambiance.  It  seemed a little scrubby looking (as in, it needed a scrub) in there to the point where I opted not to order food.  My friend's Newcastle tasted like "grape kool-aid" (not sure what went wrong there).

The server's were super friendly though although not attentive.

congratulations, limeys. a true oasis in the downtown lovingly termed brazilingham. i dont know where this woman came from but i was probably served by one of the friendlist bartenders last night. my company was starving--we didnt expect the kitchen to be open but we gave it a shot.  the bartender gave us a massive plate of what looked and tatsted like home made tortilla chips or something close to it. blue moon on top was served the only way it should be--with an orange slice and a smile. will definitely be back

Food was great, beer selection was very authentic British!  They really nailed the pub atmosphere.

We came for dinner on Friday and it was just us and a couple of guys at the bar. Little odd, hope this place gets some business soon so it can stay open.

Love this new addition to downtown Framingham!  The staff is friendly and they have decent pub food at a great price.  Love their fresh cut fries!  This is a great place to hang out with a group and so far there's been little competition for the pool table and dart boards.

First impression when I walked into this practically empty restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday night (and we were debating calling ahead, HA!):
"Have my fellow Yelpers led me astray?"  I am happy to report that Nay, they did not!  I have no idea why there was no one there that night, but I found nothing to complain about!

    1) Magners on tap.  Yes, please, and thank you... may I have another?

    2) REAL jalapeno poppers!  None of that cheap frozen jalapeno flavored cheese whiz junk.  These were actual jalapeno halves filled with gooey cheese and perfectly crispy.

    3) Bangers and mash!  The sausages and gravy were 100% delicious... although the bites of mashed potatoes that weren't smothered with gravy were a little bit bland.  Good thing there was more than enough of that delicious gravy!

    4) Boyfriend said his fish and chips were probably the second best he's ever had... and he is a pretty severe fish and chips critic!  Although I'm convinced that even if he did find the best fish and chips of his life, he probably wouldn't admit they were better than his beloved Ye Olde in his hometown of Woonsocket, RI.  But, I digress.  The important thing is, I had a hard time not inhaling the rest of his perfectly battered and fried piece of fish after he let me try a bite.

    5) The bartender/waitress was an absolute sweetheart.  We gave her an extra generous tip.  She was just wonderful!

Thank you Yelp for another fantastic find!  :)

Limey's a treasure to be found in Framingham, MA!

Located on a corner with decent access to parking, Limey's offers a great place to either stop in quickly and grab a beer or a destination point to hang out with friends.  Whatever your reason is for coming in, you'll find comfort, a friendly staff and a menu that will make your mouth water.

The minute you walk in, you're greeted by a cute, blond bartender.  You're welcome to choose a table or a place at the bar to sit and immediately offered a drink!  Doesn't get any easier than that :)

I ordered both food and a drink:  chicken tenders accompanied with an Almond "Jay."  Yummy!  The chicken tenders are made from fresh, seasoned chicken breast and cooked twice (baked and then flash-fried for the ultimate in crunchiness).  It's served with THE best honey mustard I've ever tasted.  The Almond "Jay" is a warm drink made of Disarrono Amaretto, Cruzan Coconut Rum and hot chocolate.  It's like nothing I've ever had and what a fabulous way to warm up and be festive for the season.

Seriously, this place is so good that I've been there twice in three days!  It doesn't hurt that the Natick Mall is 10 minutes away either (hee hee).  No more mall food for this shopper.  Take the time to eat here, you won't regret it.

A nice warm and welcoming pub, with great food, friendly service, and some robust drinks.

The interior is cozy and spacious with wood and brick decor. The bar offers seating for 10 or more. The dining areas have high tables, low tables and booths. There's a juke box, pool table and darts. It looks like a good place for parties of 1-15. Seating was roomy, and the place was kept clean. Bathrooms in the front and back of the house.

The food ranges from standard bar fare(chicken tenders, cheese fries, burgers) to more typical English pub selections (fish and chips, shepherd's pie, chip butty). We tried the Limey's Burger with fried egg, bacon and cheddar, the cheese fries with fresh cooked, chopped bacon, and the buffalo chicken wrap. The burger was cooked a nice pink-center, medium, and the egg and bacon topped it off perfectly! The buffalo chicken wrap was healthy but beefy!

For drinks, they seem to have several beers on tap, but we went with an espresso martini(with Patron XO coffee tequila) and an Almond Jay(like a coconut hot chocolate accented with Malibu rum). Both were tasty and the Jay hit the spot for a cold day!

Parking in the rear is reserved for Limey's patrons. Get there before too many other people discover this place. The staff were quick and helpful,  our food was delivered without delay, and refills were kept up.

Limey's has a scene lacking from everywhere else Ive been in Framigham. It features a very inviting atmosphere, ideal location steps from the train and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I have been there to enjoy a tasty lunch and also later in the night for the nightlife. Limey's has a great drink selection, live music on occasion, darts, pool, and cornhole. They also feature weakly food and drink specials that always keep me coming back.

I would hand have recommended Limey's to friends and family.

    Keep it up!!

Hooray for a new joint in downtown F-ham, convenient to the Amtrak station, so you can pass the time between hourly arrivals. Limey's has a really nice interior, clean & remodeled. They have a super friendly staff and solid drink selection, and they are working on getting some live music together.

The menu has a bunch of sandwiches and standard pub fare, but they are lacking in the veg-friendly food options. I got the french fries, which were iffy and they were all outta Tabasco. Still, a very cute little place with friendly locals and a nice vibe. But best of all.....Cornhole tournaments on Sunday nights! Awesome.

This place is a great addition to Framingham's downtown.  The waitresses were very friendly and their beer selection is excellent.  The place has been totally renovated and nothing is left of the Sampan (and believe me, this is a good thing).

We had already eaten dinner, so I ordered the chocolate lava cake, which was delicious, and my husband had the chicken wings, which he reported were very good.  I noticed that they had some yummy kids menu items on the menu.

Good luck to Limey's and thanks for coming to Framingham.  I will be back!

This bar is new but will become a great local for sure! A great menu with reasonable prices, good liquor/beer selection and a very clean, cozy atmosphere. The staff and owners are very pleasant and welcoming....darts, pool table, etc.  I highly recommend going in for a few pints and a bite to eat!

I'm going to give these guys the benefit of the doubt since they've only been open for a couple of weeks but be prepared. The kitchen has *not* sorted things out yet. My little wife (who grew up in northern England) ordered bangers and mash - which was meant to come with Yorkshire pudding. When it came there was no pudding. We asked and were told essentially that the cook hadn't gotten it quite right and so didn't serve it. OK. I ordered a cheeseburger. These are not complicated. I asked it medium rare. It was way closer to well done. Totally grey and dry. Not my cup of tea brothers and sisters. We gave them the heads up that stuff wasn't up to snuff and they took it totally gracefully. I have high hopes and want them to do well but things are still rough around the edges.
