One and done. Not returning. We all got pasta dishes. The bolognese tasted extremely similar to beefaroni. I'm not stretching the truth either. Either the chef boyardee works here or they have massive drums of this in the back. Others at our table got sphagehtti and meatballs. Â That was pretty boring and meatballs were gross. I can cook Italian better and I'm serious about that. Overall. Slow, overpriced, and food not worth returning to or talking about.
Review Source:There is a reason they don't have a line at this place. Â Find another place to eat. Â The service was terrible. Â One group close to us had been waiting for 90 mins for their food. Â Another group walked out after not being served. Â Went we asked to see the manager after our poor experience - she was very rude and didn't offer to try to make any accomodations. Lots of great places to eat on HHI. Â This place isn't one of them.
Review Source:I go here every year while visiting my parents for the past 14 years. This is a very nice Italian dinner served by knowledgeable and skilled staff. The atmosphere is elegant, comfortable, and sophisticated. The Host is always very friendly and you feel as though he must know us, although he doesn't. The meal is served at a relaxed pace- not slow.  This is not the place to go for a quick bite, rather a nice dinner where you can relax and get a chance to have a nice conversation.  I do not think this is a great place to bring the little one's  The food is always delicious, and we always leave very full.  There is always a great selection of veal dishes to choose from, though I find it hard to pass up their lasagna which is always served very hot!  If you time it right you can be there for a very pretty sunset, and we usually stroll through the art gallery/gift shop around the corner when we are done.
Review Source:Stopped here with the family after being turned away from our original destination (Cafe Sante Fe - requires reservations, who knew?). Â We were starving, and stubled upon this spot while walking around Shelter Cove. Â Let's just say that I was expecting Gordon Ramsey to jump out at any moment and declare this place condemned. Way, way over priced. Slow service. Â I was actually a bit worried about the health safety of the food, let alone the taste. Only saving grace for me was the great company and wine. Â Many other spots on HHI worth considering before venturing here...
Review Source:I dont even know where to start. This was our 3rd and final visit to Little Venice. Its hard to believe we liked this place, but the draw has always been the views and Shannon Tanner, but now after many visits we have decided no more. It all started with slow service. We ordered our wine and waited, we need a high chair and waited, we wanted to get an app, and we waited. Once the wine arrived it was time to order, and we did. We had 8 in our party and I dont think anybody ordered the same thing. Each person ordered a salad and we ordered on App, the prosciutto and mellon.
After waiting 15 minutes for the wine, we started to laugh, we wondered why it takes so long to get crafts of wine, it would be one thing if this place was busy, but it was NOT busy at all. As we drank the wine the bread came, it might have been the highlight of the entire meal, if fact, looking back it was the best thing we had. As we ate the bread the salads came out, and boy were they drunk. They has so much dressing it was kind of sick, unable to return anything due to the lack of service I took the liberty to pour out my dressing on the bread plate. After we finished (i mean ate some and left the soggy lettuce to wilt) our salads we ordered another craft of wine, waiting and waiting the joke was on us.
Finally after one hour and twenty minutes the app arrived. The prosciutto and mellow, It looked bad, smelled bad and tasted bad. Shocked at how poor the food thus far we joked about what else could go wrong, well the dinners came out. They got 6 of 8 correct, not bad considering the track record so far. Our server was trying hard to fix the mistakes, but it/he was a lost cause. After another few minutes the 2 other dishes made there way to out table, nobody said anything good about the dinners, but since we had waited so long, we all ate our plates. The owner was running around this place not doing anything but trying to help shockingly or not surprisingly never came over to see how things were going, or never said thank you, we felt a greeting or apology would have been nice. We actually felt any kind of attention would have been nice. Towards the end of the meal the check arrived. it was almost $300, we had been taken. Poor service, poor food and high prices, but hey at least you can do anything you want here b/c nobody seems to care about anything, especially you. Â
We will be back next year, as we visit the island every year, but not to little Venice, we made a promise to never go back, but we will remiss and laugh about our visit. Do yourself a favor and go ANY PLACE but here, unless of course you are a fan for punishment and need a good laugh.
A wonderful meal once you get there.  True Italian food prepared fresh.  The sauces were full of flavor, the pasta they make fresh.  Contrary to reviews at Urbanspoon the service was attentive, but it was a slow night. The bolognese sauce  was thick and rich.  Offered with spaghetti we were not charged for substituting penne.  Included in the price of the entree' is the house salad which is a tasty plate of common lettuce bathed in dressing with a half slice of fresh tomato.  It serves well to prepare for the main course.  Those who prefer to make a meal of the salad course will be disappointed.  There is outside dining in warmer weather, but the decor inside is warm and inviting.  Italian opera masks the conversations of other diners.  The glass and steel sculptures as you enter are the work of the son of Proprietor, Peter Landwehr.
The Little Venice overlooks the harbour at Shelter Cove,  but finding it can be a challenge for first time.  Peter guided us in with the advice "punch 13 Harbourside Lane into your GPS".  Turn off of Rt 278 onto King Neptune Way.  Park when you see a massive bronze of the Roman god Neptune.  Little Venice overlooks the harbour to the left of this statue.  Outside dining in warmer weather.
