Yes the prices are great, Stephanie the bartender is great, I went on Taco Tuesday, the Taco's are GREAT, the music was an Ipod it is a Tuesday night. not great. its like a dive way too dark and it a bad part of town...... for a lounge I've had better, now if its claim to fame is just a neighborhood bar then it's a better deal but a LOUNGE no...
Review Source:soooo....super dope local spot and it's thursday night weekly is blowin' up. Â I live right down the street from this place and have seen it change over the years but for the past bit they have been a guaranteed fun time with really good music, cheap booze, super nice staff that's attentive, not rude and really helpful. Â also, the vibe is really comfy and chill...there's artwork that changes, sometimes they have people serving food also which is totally 2 thumbs up worthy! Â sound is good, and the layout is nice, the place is split into two different areas, one bar/lounge area where u can drink up and chat with friends, and the other area which is a solid dancefloor with a dj rig, good sound, and a stripper pole (i'm always amazed at the number of places lacking a stripper pole!)...
overall this has become a weekly hangout for me and many of my friends (deep house/deep techno on thursday nights) and there's good reason for it...great music, great people, and great atmosphere is a pretty winning combo....never been dissappointed...actually, every time its better and better!
I the area and just stop by for a couple drinks and to my surprise...KARAOKE!!! I didnt sing but there were some very entertaining people who thought they could. Â Hell, who am I to judge, if you got the courage to have a few drinks and grab the mic your a super star in my book.
As for the bar. the bar tender was friendly and kept the whiskey & coke flowing. Â Lets say i was feeling dam good by the time I left. Â The place is a little hood, but the crowd was chill and friendly. I definately will be stopp'n buy again.
This is the home location of a great Thursday night Deep House weekly event that my friends throw. The bar owner Stephanie is super sweet and makes good stiff drinks. They also have Linden Street beer on tap so you know I approve.
This place has a down home bar vibe, friendly people, and every time I have been there the crowd was awesome. I haven't checked it out on a non-Thursday event but I hear they are also good.
alright, I'm not gonna lie... i was scared to come here for my friends bday. lol. i've only been here 2-3 times.and one of those times was NYE 2011... huge fight broke up, blood, some girl was on the floor...eeeeeks.... plus its right on 35th and Mac next to that Ghetto taco bell... however, when I came back a few weeks ago my perspective changed. Came here on a Tuesday night.. 2 dollar tacos! 4 dollar call drinks? 2 dollar drafts!
It's not ratchet at all. haha Its actually nice and calm inside. then again it was Tuesday.
So let's do a quick break down...
Food: Delish tacos! I really liked the korean one! Yums!
Drinks: dark and stormy . lol. It was DELISH. i loved it!!! esp for 4 bucks! the ginger syrup is homemade i believe. Also, the beers on tap were pretty good for you Ale lovers.
Service: Wonderful! People were so nice there! The bartenders actually care lol. The owner (Stephanie?) was one of the bartenders. She made sure my friends and I were all comfortable. She was super nice when we asked what type of drinks they offered. Service with a smile is all I usually ask for.
Place: I wish there were a few more seats available during the weekday, just because its more of a lounge than a club. People like to sit and talk and eat and of course drink!
the inside may be fine and dandy, but i do want to warn my fellow yelpers that it is in the ghettos. Be sure to put away all ur precious stuff in your car. and watch ur back as ur walking to and from the bar.
Overall, I will try to come back when possible! Esp on taco tuesdays!!!
My first time here and it was awesome!!! A great place to come to from a long day at work or a stressful day. The environment in this lounge is great and the bartender Stephanie she's one awesome person, she makes the best mix drinks ever and there Tuesday taco and happy hour is so fun the tacos is delicious and fun to make new friends.. If you have a chance to stop by there try the white gummy bear..
Review Source:Came here on NYE and it was pretty hoppin' or poppin' (what do kids use these days?). It was pretty crowded but nothing I can't squeeze through. The crowd was nice and excited for the new years count down and everyone was friendly. They provided food which was a plus! There is a front and back area which is pretty small but somehow provided adequate seating for all those who were not exactly coherent from the alcohol. Ahem. Anyways, the music was chill and a mix of different styles so there was something for everyone. The stripper pole made this place an interesting touch but many shy partiers passed by or took a long glance at it. I would come back for a chill, low key night.
Review Source:When you tell your friend "it's that place next to Taco Bell on Macarthur," they generally look at you with disbelief and wonder why the fuck you are willingly spending your NYE at this place and then ask if they should bring their gun/tazer/knife/pepper spray with them just in case.
Yes, 3411 is lightweight in the hood, but don't judge a book by it's cover! This is an awesome bar/lounge and I've had an awesome time with each visit. My friend DJ's here time to time and speaks highly of the owner, and it shows. Everyone here is so chill and friendly. I believe on each NYE the owner provides food for the guests (I prefer to just drink so I didn't indulge in it, but I heard it's pretty tasty). The crowd is mixed and I've had way more sleazy creepers coming around in SF as opposed to here.
The music is on point! Really good hip hop, all night long. None of that fist bumping EDM crap will be found here. The drinks are strong and affordable, and they pass out free champagne for the midnight toast on NYE. not a full 5 stars since, let's be real, I wouldn't really go out of my way to come here or make this my first choice, but it's still a pretty sweet spot to hang out.
This place is in the ghetto. I'm not just saying this because I'm assuming, even I have been a part of some shady, downlow stuff in the area. How do I not notice this place before? I guess a gem like this just isn't what you're looking for when you're watching your back most of the time.
Surprisingly cute, pole dancers and ALL!
It was my friend's birthday. He lives in the area so he wanted to do it at a place that is walkable distance from his house.
People were super friendly here. Only downside is that the main bar area only has one big lounging couch, (and the bar stools) unless you want to chill in the awkward "stripper room".
My friend got free lapdances from the dancers because it was his birthday. How nice of them :]
Ok so I'm a dork and accidentally did a semi review on a tip. But my friend and I came here on a Friday night pretty early 9pm ish, I know we are getting old! They had street tacos! Let's just say we went to the SF street food fest last week and we had our abundance of street tacos. So we decided to try the ones offered here.
We had the chicken tacos with this awesome I mean insanely good mole sauce and pepitos! Love them! But the smack your mama good taco was the Korean taco with marinated grilled pork, sweet pickled cucumbers, sriracha on nori squares! It was a foodgasm ready to happen. And it was $2.00!! Â No offense they were better than the ones at the street food fest like I said no offense.
I will definitely come back again!
I can't believe someone gave the bar a bad review for having too many girls in attendance, but I guess to each their own.
The owners of the bar are fantastic and while I've moved down South now, I still come and visit my favorite Bay Area bar. Â Always a good local mix of people, strong drinks, good vibes. Â The only downside is how hard the place is to find when you're first looking for it. Â I wish there was a bright sign outside since so many people seem to get lost. Â Anyways, I'm looking forward to my next visit.
1 star for TACO TUESDAYS!!
2nd star for the cocktails
3rd star for the prices
4th star for the service
This is the spot for taco tuesdays!! $2 for tacos & $4 for cocktails from 6-9PM!!! The owner of the bar is really sweet & is always informative about upcoming events. I recommend coming by during taco tuesdays or even for a drink & to chillax. I had the best moscow mule & blueberry lemondrop hurr. And the people have been pleasant too.
This is a secret magical place in the hood. Hehe. But then again, this didn't intimidate me since I grew up in the area. I recently celebrated my 29th birthday here. I chose to use this place as my venue with my guests in mind, location convenience. I have lots of friends and family that live in Oakland....and I knew that anyone that would attend my party would most likely get f'd up so I ruled out SF...I loved that my guests were pleasantly surprised when they stepped into this little hole in wall and saw a pretty cute place equipped with booze, a sitting area, a dance floor, a stripper pole...need I say more?? And the DJ did his thing. My friends were grooving, my friends had an awesome time, as did I, the birthday princess.
Bartenders were freakin' awesome, DJ-awesome, security guards-awesome, owner-awesome.
I'm not sure how this place is on any other given night. just referring to hosting my birthday party there, and it was a damn good time.
Fun enjoy able staff with an awesome owner who is also a bartender! They have all the typical drinks younger people love to down and price that allow you to have a great night out without breaking the bank!
They also have a great couch lounge area with super squishy couches that let you get cozy and provide a homy feeling to sit down and chill with friends while sipping on your super fatt drinks!
Then in the back is my personal favorite part! A dance floor complete with a dancing pole and a dj! They will play anything you request and not too long after you ask for it! It's all black back there with flashing fun lights an some awesome comfy benches to take a break from shaking your tail feathers!
I truly love this bar and truly recommend everyone go check it out!
TOP 3 REASONS WHY I GAVE IT 2 STARS:
1) 5:1 girls to guy ratio
2) the dj played the same 2song for two hours
3) nobody danced
but the bartenders were good at what they did, the drinks were tasty, and its not like me and my friends didnt have fun at all. So overall, i mean, its not somewhere id choose to go again, but if i had to, it wouldnt be dreadfull either.
I came here with coworkers because of the rants and raves from Yelp. I was very disappointed in the reviews. I came into this place expecting it to be popping on a Friday night, but to my disappointment it was dead. It was pitch dark in most parts of the small lounge with loud music that we can't even hear each other talk.
We didn't stay longer than 30 minutes and left to go to another lounge/bar to chill.
It's located in the strangest place. Hey at least if you are hungry hit up Taco Bell almost, you can say, right next door.
This place is great and just friendly and great drinks, great music, great vibe. Â I moved across the bay and miss this place but worth a trip across the bridge to go back again.
It's a hidden gem and you will see great mixed crowd, and cozy. Â It's definitely a lounge with fun fun fun people inside. Â Dance floor is a plus too. Â Stephanie is an awesome person and the best bartender ever!!
After a terrible experience at a local bar in Berkeley, my friends and I decided to try a local bar in Oakland, and the warm welcome we received was AMAZING.
This place is nicely set up, with a stage area walled off from the bar so it's not so loud if you're not ready to dance yet. They had killer Halloween decorations up, and they have a rotating gallery on their walls featuring work by local artists. The bartenders were both super nice, as was the doorman, and I felt appreciated as a customer. I don't know how good their prices are because a very friendly gentleman bought my drinks all night, but their Blueberry Lemon Drop shot is tasty!
I will definitely be coming back and bringing my friends!
This bar is amazing, the owner is amazing, the drinks are amazing (and strong!!) and the vibes are amazing!!!
Try the Dark and Stormy's!!! Homemade ginger syrup = amazing!!!
Threw a surprise party for a friend here and had an amazing time! We were all treated like we were high end customers and promptly served amazing cocktails. The owner was even nice enough to open an hour early so we could come and set up.
I can't say enough good things about the staff, the bar, the drinks and the feeling you get when you go to 3411. It's like one gigantic crazy partying family.
XOXOXO!
It's nice to know that there are still bars out there where customer service/remembering regulars/locals is still regarded as proper service.
Will be coming back here over and over and over and over and over again.
Love, love, love this place.
You begin with a perfectly lit bar area facing couches and tables, all surrounded by monthly rotated artwork from local artist. Exhibit like paintings are tastefully positioned and adorned. It feels urban, hip, chic and underground without being cluttered, sloppy or over the top. The sounds of House, DNB, Dubstep, Reggae or live bands set the mood as bass pulses from the adjacent room, but wait, you can still hear yourself think...
Thirsty? Of course, you did come to drink right? A lovely personable bartender greets you and prepares a stiff one. You glance at the big flat screen above- nice they got the game on, however you've been craving for a dose of the Matrix, so they respond by turning it on... The night is young yet you begin to notice the energy in the adjacent room is increasing. Hmmm. A large window behind the couches gives you a clue as to what's happening in there. So you take your final sip before removing yourself and embarking on the party side of the lounge.
Yes! People are dancing, not just mean mugging each other or trying to steal your girlfriend. Yes! You admire and appreciate the lighting and sound system. A local artist is doing live painting off to the corner. Sick! It's almost too good to be true. A lounge on MacArthur that's reminiscent of those downtown or in SF. It's 4 solid stars and 5 by Oakland's standard but let us not kid ourselves, it fails in comparison to some you've frequented in LA, Vegas or NY. "A-OK" by worldwide status but this is home and you begin to fall in love with Jessica, Stephanie and the big Samoan guy who seems to have everything on lock. F-it, you think. 5 stars it is.
From the outside it's typical "Town" business being carried out throughout Oakland's Laurel as one may think 3411 is merely another dive. Once inside and mingling with the Manager/Owner, staff and locals, you soon realize how at home you really are. In fact it's "Town" business done correct. Check there site or Facebook in advance to find the DJs or Band styles of your choice and make this place at the very least, a local pit stop before venturing out into nightlife.
I really seldom give out five stars, so when I do it should really mean something. Â
My friend and I discovered this place on yelp while looking for places still open past midnight on a Thursday night. Â We had both just gotten off work, so figured a night cap sounded good. Â Stephanie (bartender and owner) is just awesome. Â Her energy really fills the walls in this small-but-comfy lounge. Â And when I say lounge, i really do mean lounge. Â Its not quite rundown enough to be a dive bar; and while there was a live DJ spinning some smooth progressive house on a Thursday night, the music isn't deafening enough to warrant it being called a nightclub. Â Enter 3411. Â A full bar, stiff drinks, creative and engaging bartender. Â There are comfy couches everywhere for you to lounge on, and clean barthrooms. Â Oh yeah, and they take card. Â By the end of the night, we had made a few new friends and had enough to drink to call it a night. Â We'll be back very soon.
PROTIP: Â We've been told that the atmosphere of this place does pick up during the weekends, so I'm sure its much more lively Fri-Sun nights. Â Also, they play ALL TYPES of music (even dubstep for the wobble fans). Â It just depends on the night.
And here, my friends, is another example of a great local Oakland venue the pops up and delivers some booty shaking times! It's places like this that make me think of crossing the bridge to good ol San Francisco a thing of the past, a distant memory. Why the hell go to the city when you can kick it Town status?
Beside, not only is it a great local Oakland venue that serves up a a mean drink; never skimping as the bartenders pour em nice a heavy. Oh and did I mention at a fair rate? One that will not break your pocket into half and have you eating noodle bowls until your next paycheck.
You get a nice local art scene as the decor produces walls covered in great Art and a nice lounge session with couches lining one "room" (the lounge); Great for anyone wanting to sit down and chop it up over that nice heavy drink that is in your hand.
You also have a dance floor where you'll find DJ's (like myself) cutting it up and Bboys/Girls getting down. Sure you'll run into the random person who still thinks the Roger Rabbit is battle worthy, but really does it matter?
No.
And why?
Well you're in the enclosed dance floor rocking out to heavy basslines, so thick the hair on your arm raises up. You've got a DJ who is playing something other than the whack shit you heard on KMEL on the way to the club. You have dancing poles randomly tucked away as a handful of females take their turns on trying to get it down. One or two succeed with great results while the others make it a fun memory in the process.
Really you can have some of the best nights in a place like this. All in all, its this kind of place that helps put Oakland nightlife on the map.
And for that I support you!
Seriously, last night I made my way from Fremont to Oakland to check out this place based on Yelp reviews and everyone who gave this place high markings was on point. Â Its a hidden gem, and off the beaten path. Â However, as soon as you step in you're greeted w a warm smile from the gorgeous Stephanie, owner and bartendar-goddess. Â The lounge area is dim-lit, inviting you to sit back and relax on their well-worn couches and in a separate room, there's a huge dance floor w enough space to accommodate a band or dj and folks wanting to shake their bootays. Â The women's bathroom (can't speak for the men's but I'm sure its no different), and this is very important... was CLEAN. Â
As a resident of Maui, I frequent many of the bars on island and what sets these bars/lounges apart from the mainland is the hospitality, the gracious host(ess), the feel-good, no worries vibe, the unpretentiousness, come as you are kind of bar. Â And I'm happy to say Lounge 3411 is all that and more because Maui doesn't have a bar owner like Stephanie. Â I truly feel as if I've made a new friend for life, and new place to hang my hat whenever I'm in the Bay.
Last night was my first encounter with Lounge 3411.
Ridiculously good happy hour. Local microbrews for $2 -- spectacular! In addition, $4 wells, $5 calls, and $6 top shelf. Oh and they carry Hendricks! I'm in heaven. Â
Great crowd. Diverse, unpretentious, and friendly. Come as you are. While I did see some PBR sippin', this is definitely not a hipster crowd. The venue and the crowd are all unassuming. If you're looking for a "scene", you're better off elsewhere. And good riddance.
I love the floor plan. Split evenly between bar area and dance floor -- each side offering a distinctly different feel. Seating arrangements are well executed -- couches are always a nice touch. Sizeable dance floor -- and you can never go wrong with a stripper pole. Good music! DJ was spinning electronica that particular night. I'm excited to hear they play a range of genres throughout the week -- I'll have to check out the next time there's a live band!
Lounge 3411 represents everything I look for in a solid drinking establishment. This truly is a gem of Oakland. I hope it stays hidden.
Lounge 3411 has become my favorite bar in the Bay Area. Â The atmosphere is cool, the drinks are cheap, the music is good, and the people that work there are the best. Â It's a late night Wed-Sat place so after 9pm when it's open.
It's got the urban hipster vibe going with some chill couches, nice lighting, and artwork from local artists. Â They also have a separate bar and dance floor so you can find a hoppin' scene or just hang at the bar.
They have the best happy hour I've found in the bay area. Â From 9-10 on most night's the have $2 drafts of good microbrews. Â They serve both types of Linden Street brews from Oakland's best brewery. Â yes, $2 local micros. Â It's a beautiful thing.
They do a great job bringing in different djs and bands and really mix up the music. Â So whether you're into dance, club, or reggae music, they have a night for you. Â
The owners and bartender are, by far, the nicest and friendliest I've ever met. Â They always have a smile, joke, and remember you. Â Sometimes I feel like I'm in some Oakland 20 something version of Cheers. Â Maybe I should change my name to Norm-anito.
Go there, get a drink, and have a good time
Drinks are cheap. 7 for Goose and cran, 8 for a Long Island in a tall glass. Â It was pretty much just our group there, but I prefer less crowded lounges anyhow. Â Oh, and there's a pole, which is is always fun. Not like *I* would ever do anything on it ;), but it's fun to take pictures with!
Oh, and seating is pretty ample!
Wow I can't honestly believe the dirt bags that wrote poor reviews for this place. They honestly prove that you can't please everyone all the time. The people that run this bar are two of the nicest most welcoming people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The bar always serves very well made drinks and probably the best price you will ever pay for the size drinks they serve. I just wish they had some food and snack for sale haha. The bar is obviously a work in progress and each time I come I see it improving. I will gladly support these amazing people and have had a good time every time I go.
Ps anyone who says their drinks are over prices should just stick to $1.99 40's from the liquor store. You obviously don't know shit about bars or what most bars in the city charge for drinks.
Out of all of the bars in the area, this is the one I can easily say is my favorite. Â Stephanie and Adam are so amazing, and they always make you feel beyond welcome. Â They have live dj's, and different genres of music from night to night, leaving it always exciting. Â They especially know how to rock the Reggae Thursdays! They also have beyond fantastic drink specials.
Basically, if you're looking for a great vibe and fun people, you found the place for you.
P.S. You cannot forget, they have a stripper pole as well, just in case you're feeling extra risky. ;)
Ok, this review is looong over due! This is by far my favorite spot to chill, hang out, and party! Awesome drinks, check! Space for you to dance off what you drank, check! Seats for you to "lounge" (3411, lol) after dancing, check! Awesome friendly staff that takes good care of you, check! Check, check, and check! Place is pretty roomy, they even have a dance pole! lol. Not that I would use it. Hahah!
In addition, there's been a few times I've inquired about parties and Stephanie is cool and lenient! She goes above and beyond! Her and her staff are the best! Remembers my drink all the time! Hands down by far best Lounge in the area! w00t!!!
This is the best place to hangout! The owner/bartender makes the best drinks and the crowd is always great.
The place is separated into a bar/lounge area and the dance floor, so whether you like to dance or are just looking for conversation, this is the spot to be. PLUS - the dance floor has a stripper pole right in front of the window separating the bar area so people in the bar area can converse about your stripping skills!
I wish this place was closer to my area, I'd be there all the time! A couple of friends of mine are DJ's and once a month they spin there (Fruity Cocktail!!) so I drove out to go support them and have a good time. The owner who was also the bartender was so sweet and friendly!!! Didn't feel pressured to get drinks or anything, just good vibes. Also they don't skimp on the alcohol ;] The bathroom was very clean as well! There is a dance floor (with a stripper pole!!) Â and a little mini lounge area with a couch.
This place is pretty easy to miss just driving down the street but I'm sure its just a matter of time before it becomes "the spot" lol Great vibes, great prices, awesome owners/bartenders. just too bad its such a far drive for me. Will be back soon tho!
This is a kick-ass, laid-back lounge with modern decor. Â They cater to all different kinds of groups so every week is a different thing. Â One night can be reggae, the other can be stand-up comedy. Â Brilliant idea and execution. Â Definitely a better option than all of the trendy, hipster bars in downtown Oakland and the clubs in San Francisco. Â It also really helps to have a super-friendly bartender (which is also the co-owner of the joint) serving you drinks.
Too bad there isn't a bar/lounge like this in the Fremont area, but maybe that's a good thing for my wallet and liver.
THE DECOR: The place is easy to find right off the 580 with ample parking! So when you walk in I dig bar to the left casual. Â Updated decor making you feel like u at your crib, very welcoming! Â To your right lounge area behind a partion there is a dancefloor! Â
THE VIBE: Â I went on ROOTS SHACK Thursdays! Â It was dope dj on point with the reggae. Â The crowd diverse with a sprinkle of eclectics I love! Â Men and women both friendly all out to have a sublime time!
THE DRINKS: I must say I am in love with the Calimansi martini, tart, tangy, hint of sweetness and the bang to get you there or maybe bangin for later! Â Bartender was really cool I gotta post some pics he did all these tricks and what no pretty cool dude.
OVERALL: I recommend going to this spot ,as it is close to my stomppin grounds!
