So yeah...I decided to cheat on my fish and chicken only diet to get a burger. Â I couldn't help myself; I was hungry and the food smelled sooo good.
So I order my food, wait 5 minutes, and receive my order. I think the burger would have been really good if it wasn't so cold. Â They must have had it on ice waiting for me. And if you have high blood pressure pass on the salty a$@ fries. Although if you have hypertension you shouldn't be eating here anyway. :)
This is what I get for cheating. Next time I'll walk straight pass this place.
i am a fan. i got a double M Burger.
first thing i tasted was some kinda sweetness... then i realized that it was the bacon. sweet ol bacon on a good ol burger. oh my gad. so good. mmmm.
the fries were also pretty good but that baconn.
there was no line when i went, which prolly meant the workers werent overwhelmed with a swarm of hungry people, which prolly means happier workers who were nice to me.... so no complaints about that!
4/5 for awesome burgerss but not the bestest ever! sorry mburger, but i still love you!
I wanted to eat at Foodlife while on an hour lunch break from a temp job across the street. Â The line was crazy- even at 2pm- so I opted for M Burger. Â The line was much shorter and was moving along- plus you can take it to go or sit at the tables outside of Foodlife. Â
I got a chicken sandwich and it blew my mind- again. Â It is perfect. Â
The last time I came here I was actually at Foodlife and went up to the counter through that area. Â I was pleasantly surprised and excited to see that they have dipped cones now- yum! Â And they have peanut butter dipped cones. Â This made my life. Â
If you are really hungry and, unlike me at the moment, not counting your calories, here is a perfect M Burger meal:
Chicken Sandwich
Fries (perfection)
Strawberry Shake or... Â peanut butter dipped cone
This place is a mess. Truly disorganized from start to finish. Waited 15 minutes for my order when the young girl kept giving it away after I told her each time what my order was. Finally I went to the cashier and demanded my correct order, it was made quickly and with a ' charity free burger card' for my wait.
If this place is going to succeed train the staff to get orders right, and incorporate a wiser system for executing the order to the pick up. And reduce the music, when you hear what's going on the food is done right.
A good place to get a pretty darn good burger (for the price.)
This place does all it intends to do...nothing more, nothing less.
Nice little interesting seating that they stay consistent with throughout their 3 locations or so...a couple draft beers on tap, fries and meat never frozen.
Sea salt.
Feel free to ask for the cheese fries (not normally on the menu.) They put some jalapenos or something on them to spice it up a bit...they're really good.
The sauce is boss. Works well with the fresh beef, cold crispy lettuce and whatever condiments you prefer.
Again, about this lettuce...
The crispiness of the lettuce and how they counteract the beef on these burgers is an experience I can't say I've ever had before. It's quite simple yet DECADENT.
You must try. Unless of course you don't eat meat.
Then you can just stop reading this review entirely, HOW DID YOU GET THIS FAR?
This is located in the Water Tower Food Court... It isn't bad for food court food IMO.
I mean, it's no In-N-Out or Habit, but it's better than the other fast food burger chains!
The service was fast and friendly, but then again I did come close to closing and not during any mealtime rush. It's a pretty small place/area to sit and dine at so I got my food to go.
I tried the M burger with single patty and it was pretty good. I mean, the price is pretty cheap so I can't really complain! The fries are pretty average and nicely salted.
This is a burger joint in a mall food court. Considering all these things, it's pretty decent!
I am astonished my the negative reviews of this place. My friend coerced me into coming to this place despite the fact that I am watching what I eat. However, I was in love with my meal. I loved our cashier. She was so pleasant. I wish I knew what her name was but she would always end her sentences with a term of endearment like pumpkin or sweetie. She called the person behind us "my queen." I swear these terms of endearment brought a huge smile to my face.
I ordered a single patty burger with the fries. The burger was pretty good, on par with In and Out without the sauteed onions though. I wish I had gotten a double because a single patty was not enough for me. The fries were pretty good although I wonder whether they make them fresh from real potatoes like In and Out. This will be my go to place for a good inexpensive burger in Chicago.
Never have I been so annoyed by other people's reviews of a place that I felt the need to mention it in mine. But here goes...what is wrong with you people??? It's a $3 burger at a fast food joint in a food court...you're simply expecting waaaaaay too much. For the people who complained about it being crowded or rushed, it's a FAST FOOD place, it's located in a tiny space in the most crowded food court in the most popular mall on the busiest street in the city of Chicago!! So what if there's no flow or space for you to wait for your burger, booo hooo, get over yourselves!!! They needed to have some seating and they only have so much space to work with, do you have any idea how much rent they pay for that tiny space? Now on to the girl who gave this place two stars because I quote "only vegetarian item on the menu is a patty-less burger with tomato, lettuce and guac"---um, HELLO?!?!? I don't know if you noticed this, but the place is called M "BURGER" not M "VEGETABLE"--check yourself at the door, turn around and walk away because if you're going to diss a burger place for not having a vegetarian-friendly menu, you have no right writing a review for this place.
Now back to your regularly scheduled OBJECTIVE review for M Burger. For the category in which it's meant to be judged (fast food burger not gourmet burger), M Burger is pretty darn good. The patties are well cooked and delicious, love the pickles and special sauce (ketchup and mayo). Do get a double if you're hungry because the patties are super thin. Fries are delicious but a tad too salty. Service was friendly (and I was there on a Saturday during lunch). It hit the spot, it was cheap, it was a yummy bite to satisfy my post-shopping hunger. That's all.
It was lunchtime...
I felt like a hearty meal so burger came to mind. Â Plenty of people here so it must be good right? Â Long lines and a tad unorganized. Â The lines for ice cream and burgers seemed to bottleneck and many didn't know what to do.
The servers were friendly and smiled and obviously have a ton of patience. Â The M burger seemed to be a good choice with bacon, cheese, and "sauce", but fell short of a hearty meal. Â With dozens of people in line, the burgers came out a little too quick. Â By that I mean, maybe not cooked to perfection. Â A little charring would have nailed it.
Come here on a Saturday at lunchtime - you are crazy!
Just try harder. SIGH.
M Burger is like that kid in your class that you know is smart but just doesn't apply himself. C'mon dude, get it together! I should have known better - the FoodLife Court was packed, yet no one was in line for M Burger. Still, my optimism won this time and I ordered an M Burger (bacon, cheese, & BBQ sauce) and fries. I got my order within five minutes and it looked just like when that same lazy kid in your class waits until the night before the big, end of the year project is due to start AND complete it. It was a mess. All the pieces were there, but you could tell it just wasn't handled with care, nor did the person who assembled it really give a flying poo if I was going to enjoy it or not. The first bite was enjoyable, but the kid always makes the cover page look nice on his projects, doesn't he? Then, you start to flip through the pages and realize what a shoddy, rushed job he has done.
My patty was so small, I finished it and still had a huge chunk of bun and sauce left. Wah. The fries were OK, but didn't make up for the precious calories I was wasting on this meal. The prices are very affordable at around $3-$4 per burger and $2 for fries, but with this (lack of) quality, I still feel like I got ripped off.
I'm VERY torn. I live a block away from water tower and was so thrilled M Burger went in...I like that there's a bunch of seating either in the restaurant or in the general food court area.
However, something seems off about this location. The burgers don't seem cooked enough. I don't know if they are trying to get the food out too fast but the burgers ARE cooked but not charred in the least...they're kind of gray. Again...they ARE cooked but just past the point of raw. I have been 2x now at different times of day and they were both like this. Not very appetizing...hard to justify the calories.
The fries are still stellar as are the shakes. This location also has some sort of ice cream bar with toppings.
I will probably come back in a moment of starvation but I really prefer Epic Burger for the price....or a different M Burger location.
So I don't love the Water Tower place food court.... I know I am in the minority - but I was super excited to see the M Burger come in. Â On my latest shopping experience - sometime around 4 pm (so not prime time), I decided to grab a burger and fries.
Poor execution drives me insane - especially when it can be fixed by management. Â I honestly can't imagine eating there at noon on Saturday - it would take forever. Â
So as we all crowd around the counter waiting for our # to be called so we can grab our food....the women behind the counter would only read one order at a time. Â So she would have 4 complete orders (on trays or in bags) and would call out a number and only one number at a time. So if that person was in the middle of getting a drink, she would wait until that person came and picked it up before calling the next number. Â It was painful. Â
They need to go to portillos and take a lesson on how to multitask.
The burger was okay - the fries were sub par (and cost $1.99).
The Water Tower location is the third M Burger that I have been to. Â Â I've been happy with all of the locations. Â However, this is the largest of the burger joints and has its challenges. Â Believe it or not, I was there on a Saturday......
The restaurant is just outside of the Foodlife Court.  There is not a designated  entrance. If so, would people really pay attention???  However, people do end up in the ordering line.  Line generally moves quickly.  Since the orders are made to order, it may take a few minutes.  By the time you find a seat at one of the communal tables, your order is being called. Â
I had my usual meal, double cheeseburger, fries and the Cookie & Creme shake which is flavor of the month.  All very good - just like the other  M Burger restaurants.
What makes the M Burger different? Â They have plenty of ice cream to choose for a dessert. Â They also sell couple beers on tap. Â
If I don't feel like eating at MityNice or the FoodLife Court, I would definitely return to M Burger.
Nurse Betty, the only vegetarian item on the menu is a patty-less burger with tomato, lettuce and guac. Did not make me go MMMMM...
Their malts were too sugary and not the shake/malt craving satisfier I was seeking..
This is their 4th location and in Water Tower Place, right next to and within Foodlife, the Mezzanine food court.
This location is in the food court of Macy's in watertower. Â Got the Dr. Betty. Â Burger was not bad overall. Â It was nothing really special in my view. Â I liked the couple different styles they did have. Â Fries were good. Â Very thin and crispy. Â Just seems like it is a step above Mcdonalds and Burger King and that really doesn't make it stand out that much.
Review Source:I have been waiting to try M Burger and I was not impressed.
The first issue is that this place has a line flow problem. It felt like a roach motel, there was one way in and no way out. Â People keep coming in and placing orders and there was no room to wait for your order. Â People are pushing around you to try and get to the soda machine and the ketchup. Â It was a real mess! Â In fact, once you had your food, good luck trying to get to your table without tripping over someone. Â The fire code capacity is for 50 people...I think it is about 30 to many. Â They really need to figure out a way to get people out easily with there food.
The girl behind the counter seemed annoyed that I asked here what came on a cheeseburger. Â There was no comments from her like, "this is your first time here?" or "welcome...what do you need to know?"!!! Â She only cared about punching in orders...no love from behind the counter. Â She told me that the cheeseburgers came with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and special sauce. Â FYI...none of burgers came with tomatoes on them...so either she doesn't know what comes on the burger or the kitchen screwed up. Â It would probably help if there menu would tell you what came on a burger but it doesn't. Â If the staff isn't going to help the customers, then let the menu answer the questions. Â This info should be written on the menu board. Â Also, the secret sauce is not really a secret because other burger joints make the same mixture.
I also ordered one of the cheeseburgers wrapped in lettuce (totally stolen from In n Out Burger) and she looked at me and said, "Is this a personal choice or are you allergic?" Â I answered personal but I wanted to say, "None of your business!" Â It is written on the menu board. Â Why am I getting hassled now?
So I waited for my order, while getting bumped and pushed. Â It was like a human pinball machine. Â It really made the experience annoying. Â I also told the girl my order was for here...yet my food ended up in a to go bag. Â The front counter is not very good at customer service.
We sit down to eat our food and we were not impressed. Â This place is trying to be In n Out but they totally miss the mark. Â They have copied from In n Out: the lettuce wrapped burgers, burger packaging, secret menu and simple small menu. Â This burger was so tiny and thin it resembled and tasted more like a McDonald's 99 cent cheeseburger. Â This was a complete letdown. Â I can hardly even review the burger it was just not that good.
The only positives: Â The french fries were really good...they tasted like McDonald's fries but with sea salt. Â Again with the copying. Â M Burgers approach is smart because if another business is successful you want to try and imitate that. Â The booths and interior design is fun and modern. Â My favorite part is the music...they have got that down and I could sit here and listen to the music all day long. Â But the setting and mood is not going to fill my desire for a good burger!!!
