Maker's Mark Bourbon House and Lounge

Racists. Can't believe more people aren't outraged by Andre Mulligan's story.

Stopped here for drinks this past weekend while doing the "tourist" thing. Prices were jacked up, but being from Chicago was used to that. What made this place so great for this visit were the bartenders, Nicole and Allison. They were friendly made great drink suggestions and also gave us some great ideas for other places to visit during our stay in Louisville. Although many places in town had a collection of bourbons equal to or greater that Makers, the bourbon cocktails here were the best in town by far.
I'm giving this place 4 stars totally because because of the bartenders we had.

True to the reviews -- happy hour is nice, and you better make it then cause your out of town friends will want to visit this place. The bar staff were super nice, and Maker's counts for happy hour, which you'll probably take advantage of considering the Miller-Bud-Coors sort of tap list.

There were some bar nibbles listed, and it looks like the have a great wine special on Thursdays at the moment (half off bottles), so could be worth checking out. Glad we passed on dinner though -- not a vegetarian or vegan option in sight! (Side note -- I went some years ago and they were able to accomodate a vegan option at lunch off the menu ... not sure how that would go over at dinner).
