If it weren't for the view I don't think this restaurant would stay in business. The food is not very exciting. Â (I had the bone in Filet which was overdone the first time, the second one lacked any real flavor) I ordered for my appetizer, Carpaccio and instead of being thinly sliced, it was thick with fat throughout. Â Service was so- so although the manager was concerned that my second filet was cooked to my liking. The night we went the room looked " hazy" as if the vents in kitchen were not working. Â Someone must have turned on the AC because it became so chilly that I had to keep my coat on my legs! Â However, we enjoyed the piano player and yes, the view is what keeps customers coming back.
Review Source:Ambiance- great!
Service- hit or miss
Food- okay
The Rivue does definitely have a nice view and feel. The piano playing was also a plus. BUT outside of that, I really have no reason to go again.
One issue I have is that I had to wait 15-20 minutes after I arrived on-time for my reservation. The second issue I have is that the service was spotty-- our server hardly ever showed her face except to take our orders and bring out the food. Luckily, one of the neighboring servers noticed and took care of us. He brought us refills, bread and candy at the end of the night. He even took our payment. I wish I caught his name cause he deserves props for bailing out his co-worker.
Food was ok-- nothing really to comment on. I did expect a little larger portion for the price we paid.
I'm glad we went once just to take in the sunset over Louisville, but there's not enough here to make me want to come back.
