This place is casual - no wait service, very busy at noon so heads up if you're a downtown luncher.

I had never tried Ethiopian food before and they seemed to have anticipated this in their crowd as the menu boasts an Ethiopian vegetarian sampler.  This is huge so feel free to split. At $7.95 it's an excellent, cheap, VERY worthwhile lunch.

Be impressed with the food, the rich and spicy flavors, the value, the convenience, and the presentation.  Do not go for ambiance or exemplary service or even comfortable seating.

Found this place with the "Monocle" part of the app.  I am a REAL fan.  I consider this an great Lunch stop, or something you want to dash in and get a bite from (or sit out front).

A deli by design and ambiance, do not judge the food based on the simple and straight forward presentation.  The place is spotless, the tables and chairs comfortable enough.  The huge counter / where you order can be a bit confusing if there is no one there when you walk in.

But the food.  

The 'Stuffed Grape Leaves' were SO plump and filled with goodness it set off my inner child and I found myself not lifting them between two fingers to drop like a candy into my mouth, but cutting at them with knife and fork, savoring the flavor and plumpness and being transported back to old friends house who prepared them for me with the love of good friends.

The food here tastes like it is filled with passion.  With a care for presentation (even on paper and plastic) and quality - they also don't skip out quantity.  You get a lot of food for your money here.

I will be returning often to try a variety of things on the menu.

I went 2-3 times for lunch while I was in Louisville this spring for a conference. It was a quick walk from the conference hotel and was one of my favorite places (obviously!) for lunch. Ethiopian is great for vegheads, so I was thrilled to get delicious (and fast) food for lunch! I had the veggie combo. The women who worked there were super friendly. It come up that I like spicy food, so they gave me spicy sauces and powdered spices to mix into my food each time I was there. Yum. And I live in the Ethiopian epicenter of the U.S., so I know good Ethiopian food! I definitely recommend, and if you like it spicy, let them know! I definitely I dumped some spicy spicy all over my dress one day, but after some Tide stick, it came out in the wash!
