Buck's Restaurant

My husband and I recently visited Bucks for the first time.  I have always wanted to try it and with the Groupon they recently ran it was the perfect opportunity! The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially the bar with lots of glass, mirrors, and fresh white flowers.  We had made a reservation and were seated immediately when we arrived.  We were close to the piano with the musician playing and singing.  She had a very nice voice but I did feel the music was a bit on the loud side which made it a little difficult to talk.  I don't know if I got used to it or if it actually got quieter over the course of the evening but it definitely didn't seem as loud later on.  On to the food! I ordered the house salad and the filet.  The salad was delicious! I am a blue cheese lover and this salad was covered with it.  If you are not a big fan you should probably consider another salad as my husband did because it is definitely too much to just eat around.  My husband went with the Caesar salad and he enjoyed it also.  I was shocked by the size if my filet when it arrived. By filet standards it was massive.  It also came with a blue cheese topping, which I loved, and mashed potatoes and asparagus.  Maybe I just haven't had good mashed potatoes in a while but I thought these were fantastic.  My husband had the New York strip and he also enjoyed his meal.  We shared a chocolate torte for dessert and it was wonderful as well.  As I said before we had a reservation as was recommended by Groupon and I have to wonder if a lot of other tables just showed up shortly after we were seated because our server seemed to be spread a little thin as if his section was heavily seated fairly quickly.  Usually reservations help to avoid this situation and allow servers to best serve their tables.  Overall we would definitely dine at Bucks again!

I'm not a big fan of sweets, but their signature desert was Amazing.

Atmosphere 5, service 5, food 3.5. We visited Buck's with a friend  who is a frequent customer. My wife and I had the the crispy fish which was reminiscent  of the crispy flounder we have enjoyed in Charleston, but not quite as good. I loved the atmosphere and especially the piano player whose voice had Nate King Cole characteristics.
