Falafel sandwich (with hot sauce if you can handle it)...
I'm  in love with Mediterranean cuisine.. I indulged in this kinda food throughout my trip to Canada.. The Shawarama restaurants were a delight..
Coming back to Louisville, my initial perception of Yafa wasn't great, had an incident that stopped me from going for sometime.. But I decided to forget and go back..
I never had any complaints about the food.. Yafa Cafe is right opposite Sapphire, and has a good range of Veggie options.. but I will always go for the "Falafel sandwich". It serves one person well for a light meal, has amazing sauces that blend well with the soft bread.. Extremely delicious... I've never seen a cleaner sandwich, a round two piece pita bread with a slit through which they add all the fillings (not at all messy despite of the sauces that go in).
They do have hookah's on offer if you'd like to indulge in this for a late evening thing.. I have to try the hookah there, so I can't comment on the flavors, but I've enjoyed the hookah elsewhere.
Again, clean your tables when you leave, if you can.. Don't dump the glass plates (please... wink).. They provide outdoor seating as well overlooking pretty broadway streets, which I look forward to enjoy when the sun is out.. I think in a months' time, hopefully.. I miss the sun!
A nice little cafe, the decor is plane and welcoming and a bit bland leaving something to be desired, but that's not the focus here. Its food and people, and that should be fine with you. The staff didn't care that the moment we got in we started moving tables together you make enough room for our group. There's a counter to left with a cash register a few displays and your hookah options. The menu hangs over head offering of staple fairs: Shawarma , Hummus, spiced coffee, Baklava  and Falafel.  The food here is good and it's nice to have different styles of food around, but it's nothing to write home about. This is the palace gives you a lot of food for the money and it's great for friends together. This is a place that's made by who you bring with you, bring a big group and have a good time.
Review Source:When this venue first opened, I went there once, thought the hummus was far inferior to that of Safier which is right across the street, and resolved to never betray my beloved Safier again.
I thought, "How dare they go head to head with Safier?" and assumed they wouldn't stay open more than a few months at best.
Well, they've been around for some time now, so they must be doing something right. When a friend invited me to lunch there recently, I decided I owed it to them to give them a second shot. I ordered the falafel sandwich and baklava for dessert. It was delicious. While prepared differently than the same item at Safier, the sandwich was equally delightful (and cheaper). The baklava was great too.
You might catch me there again soon.
