Cunninghams is close to home, but it's not a place I eat at regularly. Most of the food is of the heavy, fried, Southern variety, and I'm rarely in the mood for meals like that. Still, I would suggest Cunninghams as a good place to go if you're dining with a large group of people. The food is relatively inexpensive, so if you're treating the party to dinner, you can do so without breaking the bank. Also, they have a decent variety of traditional, local favorites--things like steaks, fried fish, fries, and coleslaw--so it's not hard for everyone in your group to find something that sounds appetizing.
One big plus is that Cunninghams is one of the few restaurants on Fourth Street that is open on Sundays. One big minus is that, in my experience, the service typically leaves a little to be desired.
