I am currently eating their white chili, which was the special today. And it's pretty good. The bowl size is bigger than I anticipated
I was in early and getting my food to go, so I didn't get a real feel for the place. But it looked adorable. And the ladies were very sociable and talkative.
A very selective menu, but I would be interested in going back sometime and trying a sandwich and perhaps a dessert. I do love that it is so close to my office.
This is a great little weekday sandwich place. The two Miss Cs are Charlotte and Chris, and they serve good lunches -- Louisville dishes (pimento cheese, Benedictine, as well as Ham and Brie, Turkey and Swiss, etc.) with Kentucky ingredients.
None of their sandwiches has blown me away, but the attention to detail is great. Good ingredients, fresh fruit and good pickles on the side. Daily soups. My girlfriend got a slice of quiche the other day (which was a special) and it was really, really good. Tomatoes served only when in season. Everything under $8. These women like to cook, and the specials are worth a look. (They religiously update their Facebook page.)
What does knock me out is the house-made ice cream. Their "bluegrass" flavor is made with fresh mint, chocolate chips and bourbon, and it's special. But all their flavors are creamy and delicious. They had a peach recently that was excellent, but that was probably seasonal. They also serve homemade sorbets that have no peer (as far as I know) here in town. Not too icy, I think I can taste booze in there (probably to keep it from freezing solid). Creative flavors like lime basil and blackberry are delicious on a hot day.
The atmosphere is great too. The Henry Clay building is gorgeous, and they have musicians in here all the time. It's not opulent or formal, just comfortable and warm. Be sure to walk through the historic building's lobby afterward.
