We got a small Pizza House Special and 16 buffalo wings. Â I'm pretty sure they actualy boiled the breaded buffalo wings, so I took two bites and was done, threw the rest out. Â The pizza was an unsuccessful cross between a NY and Chicago pie, but the sausage and vegetables were decent. Â Recommend pizza if you're desperate for delivery, but stay away from the wings altogether.
Review Source:I'm a born and bred NY'er, so I'm a big pizza snob. That said, I keep an open mind.
This place is a simple pizza restaurant - order your food and sit down at one of the dozen or so booths. We ordered a 16 inch cheese pie with a large greek salad. There were 3 adults and 2 kids - everyone had their fill.
The pizza was cheesy - I actually gave my cheese away (wasn't really in the mood) and loaded up on the greek salad. The feta cheese was very fresh as were the rest of the basic salad ingredients.
There are plenty of other choices on the menu (gyro, lasagna, pasta dishes) and the prices are good - not bad in a pinch.
It's pretty clear why SKI MAGAZINE called this place one of the four best pizza places in ski country. That's not just VT btw, that's the whole USA! Â If you like Greek style pizza they make it great. The crust is not greasy but it has that nice soft bite to it. The sauce is neither too sweet not salty/peppery. They use the right amt. of cheese and toppings. They don't overload it with toppings, masking the flavor. Always reliable. Good price and friendly counter staff.
Review Source:I am surprised at the number of positive reviews for this place. Â Admittedly, I'm from CT and we have GREAT pizza in CT, so I can only judge everything else by comparison. Â But honestly, we thought MPH was awful.
It is greek-style pizza, thin crust. Â They're light on the toppings and way overpriced for what you get. Â (Of course, Manchester in general is expensive, but still.) Â Much better pizza can be had around the corner at Christo's. Â I don't LOVE their pizza either, but a huge improvement over MPH.
Any time I'm in Manchester, I make sure to stop at the Manchester Pizza House. Â This is your typical old school pizza joint - really solid pizza, nothing too fancy, good subs, good salads, paper plates, plastic booths. Â They must do a bit of take out because there are only a handful of tables in the place.
If you spent a day out around in the cold, this place really hits the spot. Â It's fairly narrow and small inside, and as a result it really makes you feel comfortable and warm. Â Sit down, have a beer, eat a huge pie, feel good.
It's hard to do a place like this justice because there aren't a lot of particulars to point out. Â They're not pitching new york/chicago/whatever "style" pizza, it's not exotic and they don't have a bunch of funky crap hanging on the walls. Â It's just a pizza joint in a strip mall, and for some reason once you've been once, you'll want to go back.
If you're from out of town don't waste your money at some of the "fancier" (aka sold to skiers, generally not worth it) restaurants. Â Just grab a pie and a beer and have at it.
