Three stars for the food.0 stars for the service.A teenager girl who took my order was silent and didn't say a word. When I got my order, there was about three packs of fries, almost 10 Big Macs, and one filet o fish.I didn't order a filet o fish,I have asked for one Big Mac,but the three packs of fries were fine because me,my sister, and my mom wanted a pack.Itold the girl that I didn't order a filet o fish and that she gave me way too many Big Macs. She clearly wasntt listening, she rudely interrupted and said,"hey, who cares about your order? You get what you get,so deal with it.."I told her in a polite way that the order was wrong.she said,"Now what?you gonna stand there and look like an idiot?"OMG.That was so hurtful.Im going to other places.Forget this
Review Source:Yay for 59 cent ice cream cones! Â Who knew that plain vanilla ice cream could taste so delicious! Â At first, I thought the cone size was small, but it was very satisfying and a good option for an afternoon pick me up to make the work day go by faster.
I also enjoy their iced coffee and chocolate chip cookies, but have yet to try it from this location. Â I'm sure it is good.
Needless to say, I'll be back for the cone - so cheap and so good!!
It's a McDonalds!! I'm giving this a 4-star for the cleanliness and location and hours of this place. Quite an impressive location. It is very clean, has many booths, and has a great feel to it. The customer service seemed pretty great considering I got a coffee only. But the fact they listened to what I asked for and were courteous gave me a good feel. I liked the location as well and then the hours were great. Downtown in that location to have a McDonalds open late is amazing. It actually made me want to go in and eat from there. But I held off and got a coffee only. Maybe next time. Â ;)
Review Source:Alright, so I'm a sucker for Mcdonald's... it's my guilty pleasure... Because I can use the pedway to get here from my office (don't have to go out in the cold), I've been here on occasion.
The food has always been fresh, but I question the wait time. Â There is a full staff and not always many customers, yet the service is slow. Â How long does it take to scoop fries or put water in pre-made oatmeal?!?
This McDonalds makes me sad. It's right across the street from where I work and it's hard to pass up $1 coffee in the morning, but there's always a problem.
My first issue is the line situation. The ordering counter is packed with registers, but offers no where for people who have already order to wait. I don't frequent McD's but all the other ones I've been in have a space to the side of the registers where you stand to wait for your food, this one doesn't. It makes it really annoying to walk into because it looks like there are a ton of people in line (when usually there's only about 5) and like chaos.
Also, (sorry... tangent) if there are a lot of people waiting to order the cashiers don't even wait for the person at their register to move before "greeting" the next person, they just yell over the person still in front of them. I would say it's just a rude cashier, except I have watched the manager instruct them to do this, so its either bad corporate policy or bad store policy- either way it's rude.
My second major issue is the frequency with which I need repeat my order ("good morning, a medium coffee, 2 creams 1 sugar, please"). I worked as a fast food cashier for 6 years, I get there's an order things have to be imputed in and that sometimes there's so much background noise you can't hear so I usually understand when I have to repeat the cream/ sugar ratio once. I don't understand when I have to say it 4 times and still get the wrong thing (when the cashier repeated my order back to me the second time it was a medium coffee with 1 cream and 6 sugars--??what where did those numbers come from? -I didn't say that but I thought it). It's a terrible way to start the morning. :(
I, sadly, will continue to go every so often because my eternal desire to keep as much of my paycheck in the bank as I can doesn't out weigh my need for a second cup of morning coffee
As McDonald's go, this is one of the better ones. Â They really keep the lines moving during lunch time. Â As others have stated, the seating is pleasant as is the outside view. Â Unlike some of the Macs inside the loop, this one has a self-serve drink fountain station so you can get refills. Â And it has the now ubiquitous free wifi so it's nice to catch up during lunch.
Review Source:As for the architecture: it is probably the only McDonald's in a Mies-type building. Cool idea, although the interior decorator clearly didn't understand the free plan principle at all and has tried to tie everything down in a very Starbuck's cliche.
As for the food: it's a McDonald's.
Ok, so it seems kind of stupid to review McDonalds. I mean, it's McDonalds...you know what's going on there. However, I felt the need to mention that the other day I was at this particular McDonalds and there was a woman in a brown shirt (she has to be the manager) demeaning the entire staff. She was yelling through the people, "OKAY, LADIES. WHAT DAY IS IT?" All the employees looked down or away and then she yelled, "IT'S WEDNESDAY. YOU'VE GOT TO GIVE OUT THE NAPKINS!" I don't know what this meant, all I know is that I was uncomfortable and I don't even work there. Then as I sat down to eat, the woman was walking around the restaurant criticizing not only the active employees but also the ones who appeared to be on break and eating.
HEY, CRAZY LADY IN THE BROWN SHIRT!!! We get it, you are the only decent employee McDonalds has. You have worked hard to rise above to the ranks of manager and now it is your place to put down all the little people. You are effectively managing the restaurant by yelling at and demeaning your employees and the place would fall apart without your expertise. I just have one favor to ask...can I come in and get my lunch without having to deal with your neurosis? Oh, and I just want to throw this out there, when you have one white person yelling at a dozen timid Latina women, it looks racist. Not saying you are, just saying that's what it looks like.
I walked into this McDonald's for the first time EVER today. I LOVE this McDonald's! What a jem! LUV LUV LUV LUV IT!
It is next to Chase Tower, on Exelon Plaza, and it has GORGEOUS, like, 30 ft tall windows that allow you to look out onto Jackson street between Clark and Dearborn. The view is simply stunning, especially, somehow, on a gray and rainy day like today! There's so much wonderful modern architecture on this street, and coupled with the hustle and bustle on the sidewalk, it's a veritable moving portrait depicting the vibrancy and vitality of city life in Chicago.
Obviously, you don't go to Mickey D's for, like, gourmet food. Personally, I like pate and wine, or rack of lamb, as much as Fillet-O-Fish. Incidentally, I was in a pinch and Fillet-O-Fish is actually what I ordered. But that's neither here nor there.
Boy was I GLAD I stopped in here!
Order a fracken Diet Coke if you have to, but GO to this location, sit at the super clean tables and admire the absolutely STUNNING view. It's almost poetic!
Because I was poor, I took my mothers advice in seeking a meal for two dollars or less and headed to the imfamous dollar menu displayed at the golden arches. Â It wasn't that the double cheesey burger wasn't all that I wished for and more, it was how much reefer the counter girl had obviously smoked before her shift that set me a back. Â This girl was practically drooling all over my small fry. Â She never even said, hi, what can I get for you? nothing. She just said, "NEXT!" and then handed me my change when it was all over. Â I felt like a cheap polish hooker.
