Ok, to be fair, the comics were very funny. The problem I had was with the wait staff and the food. One would not expect black tie waiters or gourmet fare at a comedy club, but can't you expect to be waited on in some timely fashion, or be given what you ordered? Â And when you point out that you did not ask for cinnamon in your beer (who does that?), can't you expect you would get a new one; NOT HERE. To add insult to injury, when food did arrive, it was awful. And I'm not talking the prototypical bar food awful. I mean the full fledged awful. Â I was hungry, so I ate it. Big mistake, without getting graphic, lets just say the food didn't last too long, or digest as expected. So, go and see some comics, but don't spend another dime in this dump.
Review Source:A group of us went to see "The Irish Show" featuring comic Mick Thomas on Friday night and we had an amazing time.  I was pleasantly surprised at interior, a lot nicer than the outside would suggest. My man and I were actually the first to arrive and made ourselves at home at the bar.  Our bartender was very  friendly and nice, sorry I neglected to get his name.  There was a good selection of spirits and beers.  The menu is standard bar fare, but actually pretty good.  We saw 4 comics total and they were all a riot.  We got our tickets beforehand specifically to see Mick Thomas, who I had enjoyed seeing first @ Governor's in Levittown. Joe Currie was another standout on the bill.  Tickets were only $18, with a two drink per person minimum.  Not a problem and they are reasonably priced! I even used a coupon from the Entertainment  coupon book where I got one ticket for free.  Can't beat that!! Great night with friends, can't wait to do it again!
Review Source:It has been many years since I have been to McGuires. Â I believe within the last year they were bought by Gallaghers.
I was happy to see that there had been improvements to the interior. Â Typical comedy club venue, lots of tables and uncomfortable seats. Â That was OK though because the comedy was fantastic.
They serve a full menu, dinner, app, etc. The selections are mostly bar food choices, but the prices are very reasonable. Â Five of us got out of there for under $100 including food and two drinks each.
I am not sure about Rob's comments about the owner...I heard there may have been a change. Â If you don't like the food here you could always grab something from Applebees or McDonalds (they share the parking lot).
ps...I heard that in Bohemia 70% of the people are thin, fit and attractive, and the other 30% go to McGuires. Â hardy har,
I found this place on line and called about 30 min before the late show to see if there was still any seats on Saturday night the person on the phone  just said come on down.  This immediately this made me think this place is going to be empty, but I was surprised it was about 3/4 full approx. 40 people.
The price during the week is $10 per person and weekends is $15 or 16 with an $8 min on food or drink. Â Our bill came out to about $60 that was 1 mixed drink, 2 Heineken's, a water, and a basket of cheese fries with bacon. Â
Let me tell you it is definitely worth you money the show started at 10:30pm and lasted until 12:00am. Â I was laughing from start to finish 3 different comics and 1 guy introducing everyone. Â The guy who introduced everyone was not really funny but not bad either. Â The nice thing about the comics it that they had very different styles our headliner was "The Coach" and he does more of an act than a stand up bit, but you will be rolling on the floor.
