Will give one star because the coffee was great! However after being seated it took 15mins to get it.  The mimosa special was also good.  We waited even longer for food, a tuna melt that was cold, cheese not even slightly melted and we asked for well done tater tots.  Though they were very hot and fresh, it tasted like the oil had never been changed...so they tasted fishy!!  We took two bites, and sent our food back. Seemed to be a theme around here today.   Noticed that neighboring table that came 10 min. After us got our food before us, ate some of it and opted to not even take it with them.   VERY DISSAPOINTING!

I've eaten at Mellow Yellow for years. It's not the greatest restaurant in the area but it'll due when all else fails.

I ate breakfast there during my most recent trip but I usually have lunch when I eat there. I ordered the $4.99 breakfast special which consisted of pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon. It was a little greasy but otherwise okay. Definitely not the greatest breakfast I've ever eaten but for $5 what do you expect?

Personally, I think it's better to eat at Mellow during the lunch or evening hours. I really like their BBQ chicken sandwiches, chili, salads and soups.

Not, not, not, not, not a good place--really wanted to try it, perhaps give it a hidden gem finding but 9.99 for subpar eggs and and salmon "croquettes" which looked like burnt meat patties....Yeah. There are better places in Hyde Park.

Like so many old gems around Hyde Park, Mellow Yellow is a mere shadow of its former self. I remember a cheerful, crowded restaurant with great savory and dessert crepes for my childhood, adolescence and early adulthood, and came in expecting more of the same. But oh my how things change.

We ordered the onion soup and got what I can only guess was one of those cup-o-soup packets that you mix in your coffee cup with hot water. I can't even say canned soup, because I've had better canned French onion soup than this. French onion soup is dark brown and loaded with carmelized onions. This was a yellow broth with a few limp onions floating in it.

Then on to one of my previous all-time favorites, the chicken and mushroom crepe. Now I know my palette has changed over my lifetime, but there was never a time that I enjoyed bland, dry food, and that's all this was. No flavor, no texture, just dry chicken chunks in a flavorless sauce wrapped in a slightly soggy crepe.

But there's still the dessert menu! The Harper Nut (and we don't mean the guy on the corner) can save the day! (For those who don't know--and apparently never will, now, that was the actual menu description that used to crack my young self up in earlier days). So I ask the server for the dessert menu, and she says, "Well, that's it over there." and points her head toward the revolving dessert case.

So lemme get this straight. You don't even write down a list of your dessert offerings anymore, you just direct customers to go look in the revolving case of cakes and pies purchased and shipped in from Lord knows here and make their pick? You can't even give them a MENU?!

Obviously the crepes were not in there so I asked if they still had the dessert crepes. She gave me a breakfast menu, which had a listing of a few sweet crepes, including the chocolate and peanut butter one which was the stripped-down version of the Harper Nut, to which ice cream could be added, thus making it  a dessert. I went ahead and ordered it, It was OK. Just OK.

Honestly, I cannot take this degree of disappointment from a former neighborhood icon. I will be going to the new Clarke's across the street and let this old glory fade away to nothing.

Not that bad of a place. Cute atmosphere. Chili was good. Two chili's took forever and it was pricey. Would go back for a drink or dinner and not for lunch.

Fast service, great comfort food, good ambiance, decent selection of beer. Damn good experience, and I applaud you for it, Mellow Yellow.

Just got back from eating at Mellow tonight. Our experience was overall a positive one. My wife ordered the rotisserie chicken with mac-n-cheese ($8) and loved it! The chicken was delicious, juicy, and well-seasoned. The mac was creamy, hot, and made with a yellow American cheese. The cole slaw was just average. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich ($10) and dug the hell out of it! The pork had a really nice bark on it, was flavored with just the right amount of smoky BBQ sauce, and came served with lettuce and tomato on a great toasted hoagie roll. The sweet potato fries that I ordered as my side were crispy and delicious as well!

The only downsides to our meal were the drinks. We ordered the 2-for-1 margaritas, and they DID NOT have much alcohol in them. At a normal price of $9.25, you expect to feel a heavy buzz by the end of them. Neither my wife nor I felt much joy after sipping down these pretty poor-tasting margs.

The food was great, service was solid and unobtrusive, but we will definitely order different drinks next time. Good comfort food (the chicken and waffles were popular amongst our fellow diners) at very reasonable prices.

PS - they put the awning back up, but, while I still despise it, it does look better than the ugly thing they had up there before! Still a good restaurant.

Have been here a few times. I always order breakfast skillet with swedish pancakes - quite good. I would like to try the waffles next because I have heard good things. My husband has had a miss here and there with the catfish and gumbo.
The servers have always been VERY kind and attentive.
Music is nice on the weekends. I wish they would take down the neon signs inside the store though, a little harsh on the eyes.

Nothing particularly fantastic about this place, but the service is usually pretty good and the food is cheap. I've eaten a few of their wraps and salads and they were good. Their breakfast skillets are good too, and the portions are huge! You'll definitely have left overs!  I also love that they do buy one get one margaritas on Tuesdays. Those margaritas are huge!

Reportedly one of Ms. Obama's favorite restaurants. If true, Michelle has better taste in men than food. Nothing on the menu is particularly good (though nothing I've had was absolutely objectionable either), and the service can be very spotty. Best bet would be at breakfast, though I think you can do better in the immediate area.

They were one of the only restaurants--maybe the only restaurant--in Hyde Park to stay open after the Great Snowstorm of 2011, so kudos for that. Still, I think Mellow Yellow is generally one to avoid. Guess I'm not mad about Saffron after all.

Mellow Yellow is an institution.  Early bird breakfast is a great deal.  Coffee sucks, so if you look for good coffee, try the tea!  My favorite omelette is the spinach and swiss cheese.  My daughter's favorites are the fried chicken salad, fried chicken & waffles, and the quesadillas (steak & chicken)  I am partial to the bar!  What a surprise, they make a darn good drink.  They also have mile high carrot cake that is one of the best I've tasted.  They are old school with crepes, quiche, a chili that is very popular and good salads.  This is a dependable place with the most friendly service.  Ask for Sylvia, she works MWF, and is a laugh riot and a sweetheart!

This seems like a place where they have a lot of menu items with only a few of them that are exceptional.
One of these exceptional items is the Vegetarian Chili.  We had the Chili Cheese Fries, and the Chili was just so rich and full of flavor.  We were totally surprised that Veggie Chili could be so good.   We had this first before we got our other dishes, which unfortunately were forgettable.
I had Eggs Florentine (poached eggs with spinach on an english muffin, served with asparagus and potatoes) and the hollandaise wasn't right (a bit sour/salty and not creamy like you'd expect).  My wife had Lime Tortilla- encrusted Tilapia, which was tasty and had a nice crunchy crust.  However, the sides were akin to cafeteria food; the veggie medley tasted like it was frozen and they heated it up.
I would give this place 3 stars, but I see myself coming back for that Chili.

Ummm  Ive had some ok food from here and food that I've spit out... I hate that this place seems so nice but the food is gross . Plus I had to wait forever. The breakfast is ok, its a good spot for a deal but outside of pancakes , eggs, and bacon I REFUSE.

salmon 0/5 - The salmon is frozen then served overcooked
    Seafood Quiche 0/5 - I almost puked
Mellow Yellow Burger 3/5 - too dry
Chicken and Waffles 2.5/5 - dry and flavorless
    hashbrowns 1/5 - dry

Reasonably priced food that is tasty. Nothing fancy, but you can tell that with one look at it. Only big issue I have is the service. It is extremely slow!

Nevertheless, was completely satisfied with my French Dip Sandwich and Criss Cross Fries, just wish it didn't take 1/2 hour to get it.

Will I be back? Probably not. But I wouldn't be upset if I did return.

If you've lived in Hyde Park long enough then you've seen the revolving door that is Mellow Yellow. It seems as though it can never fully find itself or figure out what it wants to be. Some years back they added in a fireplace to the second half of the dining area which not only ate up space, but creates a less-then-pleasing atmosphere. Same goes for the LCD TVs hanging everywhere. Last time I ate there I watched a family literally be entranced by "American's Funniest Home Videos" to the extent that they asked the channel to be changed.
All that aside the food is decent if not hit-or-miss sometimes. I find the breakfast menu to be the most consistent. Drink selection is nice, and there's enough variety within the menu to please most people. Not a big fan of their French-roll burgers however.

Honestly though the biggest turnoff these days are the TVs which invade the dining experience and add little to the atmosphere. The wait staff is nice and recognizes regulars. Worth checking out but not the best place to eat in Hyde Park.

    Two key things here...

    1) The weekday Early Bird Special is like $2 for 2 eggs, bacon, pancakes! The breakfast is good and cheap.

    2) You can add a bottomless Intellegensia coffee for $1 extra!

What what? Do you need more from me? I think not... (That's the only thing I get there.)

Mellow Yellow is a strange place. I think it's having an identity crisis or something. The menu is ridiculously huge, and my guess is they probably don't do anything very well. The décor made me feel like I was in a cave...or a cottage...or the hold of a ship. I couldn't quite decide. It's dark, with a lot of wood; there's a wood-burning stove randomly in the middle of one of the rooms; the decorations are random...nothing really seems to fit. It's like they've just been adding bits and pieces over the years and have never had a designer actually come in and try to make it a unified whole.

I came here for lunch, and the food was okay. The French Vegetarian sandwich was a little bland and didn't come with all of the ingredients listed on the menu. I ordered it with fresh fruit, which mean it came with two large rinds of melon...not exactly what I expected. The Chicken Quesadilla was actually quite good, and it came with generous portions of guac and sour cream. No complaints about the service.

Meh. Overall we had a pretty okay lunch, but I would never come here for dinner. I may try the cheap breakfast special sometime, and if it's good, I'll bump the rating up to 3 stars.

    A-OK indeed.

Went here for breakfast on Christmas Eve with 7 people.  About half of us, including me, ordered the breakfast special (2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pancakes) which is a great deal (and all very tasty) but know that you can't substitute anything, which is too bad because I really would have preferred toast instead of the pancakes.   The menu was large and I would definitely consider coming back for lunch or dinner sometime if none of my HP favorites was an option.

Service was nothing to write home about.  They were very slow about refilling water and got the drink order wrong multiple times, but mostly were pretty good about dealing with our large group at 8 AM.

Only real gripe involves the televisions.  We were the only people in the back room and we really didn't want the tvs on - they were very distracting to everyone.  Every time we turned them off, a member of wait staff would turn them back on.  Why???  No one was watching.  If there had been other people in the room (or if they had been connected to other tvs in the restaurant, which they weren't) I would understand, but this just seemed ridiculous.

"He had three beers at lunch.  That would make anyone sleepy." -- Lenny talking about Homer, on the Frank Grimes episode of the Simpsons.

Now, i'm a big fan of the liquid lunch, especially on a work day.  Mellow Yellow has $1.95 mimosas, which can help that cause.  Being responsible, we stayed away from them, but promised to try them another time when i don't have to be too coherent at work.

I got the french dip and it was aight.  Nothing special, just basic diner food.  The menu is large, and I think I just ordered wrong.  If I go back i'll definitely try their breakfast options, which looked good.  And definitely the mimosas.  I just can't risk being sleepy in the afternoon.

You get what you pay for here, so don't expect to be wowed off your feet. That said, the menu is huge, I've never been disappointed with a dish, and the price is right.

Don't come here for a first date. Don't try to show off Hyde Park to your folks here. Don't expect your pallet to be challenged. Don't come if you want servers fawning over you.

Do come here if you're in the mood for comfort food. Do come if you want breakfast for dinner. Do come if you want to meet with friends and have a good meal.

Come with some patience and an expectation to have some "home cooking" and you'll really like this place.

    {Tip: if you're annoyed with any aspect of Mellow Yellow, just cross the street to Pizza Capri and you'll find your antidote}

Mellow Yellow is the type of neighborhood place which serves up down home, comfort food.  The menu is very extensive ranging from broiled catfish, to seafood crepes, to breakfast skillets.

I opted for the French toast.  They provide the option of choosing white, wheat, or Hawaiian bread.   I was in need of some thick  French toast so I chose their Hawaiian version.  It showed up with six thick slices.  The price point is right on as well.  This whopping serving set me back $5.75.  As if I didn't have enough carbs in front of me, I also ordered a side of their fried potatoes.  There wasn't anything special about them.  They were pretty much breakfast potatoes without seasoning, but good enough to tame my carb craving.   To accompany my breakfast/brunch, I had several of their mimosas which are made with freshly squeezed orange juice.  Those set me back $1.95 each.

My companion ordered the catfish which I just had to taste.  It was catfish.  Again, nothing out of this world, but satisfying.

The service was a bit off.  I'm going to attribute this to the fact that Mellow Yellow was slammed with table upon table of half-marathon runners who just completed the race

Overall, this isn't a destination place, but suitable for a casual bite to eat when in Hyde Park.

It is always painful for me to see someone so miserable with their job...

    While this place still has:
    - A huge menu
    - Good special deals, particularly early in the morning
    - Decent food for a reasonable price
    - Within walking distance of my pad

    It also still has:
    - Achingly disgruntled staff (which a while ago seemed to have gotten better- but there is something wrong- maybe a complacency with management?)
    - Horrible seating arrangement (sign states "Please Wait To Be Seated" but when we wait we are given a stare of death and are told "Well- just choose a seat anywhere you want...")
    - Kitschy decor... In that awfully outdated and ugly kind of way

I'd still come here because it is cheap and I guess I should know by now that it isn't going to be a place with smiles and friendly chitchat. Then again, I could just go two doors down to Valois... Counter service in a cafeteria style means not having to deal with angry employees.

Upon leaving, we notice the song "Mellow Yellow" come on over the speakers...  As a part of their music rotation...  It was kind of creapy actually...

On so many levels...this just didn't work out well. We had the feeling that maybe we should leave even before we ordered, but I said, "let's give it a chance."

When we walked in we noticed only two tables were occupied and finishing up we asked, are you still open? It took the guy a second as if he didn't understand or was confused, he confirmed they were open. He grabbed a couple of menus and sat us down.

He then asked us if we wanted something to drink,  my husband ordered an iced tea and I inquired about their shakes because I saw some stuff plastered on the windows about their shakes. I guess they have some breakfast shakes, I asked about chocolate since it wasn't on the menu, he wasn't sure then blurted yes we can but same price.  I asked for a moment to decide. Not knowing what I'd get I ordered iced tea.

When he came to take our order, my husband ordered a medium rare cheeseburger, that came with sharp cheddar. Then my husband asked if he can have something other than fries, he started to tell use, "no that's how it comes" I then pointed to the menu that, you could choose fries, side salad or fruit. Then he said, yes you can choose one of those.

At this point I began to question that either he was very new or there was a language barrier, however he seemed to converse well enough.

So my husband picked the salad and asked what dressings they had, the guy  rattled some off and vinaigrette was one of them, when asked what kind of vinaigrette, he didn't seem to understand, so we just told him give us the fries.

I ordered the crepes florentine,  I wanted to keep the order simple with no questions.

A moment later, he came back to ask my husband what kind of cheese for the burger, shaking his head the reply was the one that comes with the cheddar.

Food arrives, the burger isn't medium rare, and it's not round. Yup. it's this rectangular shaped burger on a roll, okay perhaps I'm being nit picky about the shape. It also came on to small of a plate, the bun overtook it the fries falling off all over. But most important the meat just tasted funny and I thought it had a strange odor.

My crepes, they were okay kinda hard to mess those up. However, aren't crepes florentine supposed to be spinach in a creme sauce, my guess is that they used Swiss cheese? All I knew is that it was real cheesy, I would have mistaken it for stuffed spinach pizza if there was sauce on it.

If that wasn't enough, they started to clean-up for the night, one of the waitresses was sweeping up a dust storm, not sweep sweep, more SWEEP! SWEEP! She should have put on a swine flu mask to avoid the dust, then before we were done, she started to mop. I don't know, this is fine in a closed section, but just feet from you?

I really hate leaving one star reviews, and I try to look for something redeeming, but from service to the food to the cleaning up, the whole thing seemed to be not executed well.

Mellow Yellow: many enjoyable options but few masterful dishes.

I had the 5-way chili my first time in, and it was definitely above average.  I'm used to Skyline (Cincinnati, anyone?) or Steak and Shake (um, stick with the burgers please).  My second time in, it was time for the garbage burger, which was great, except they had run out of guacamole. Hrm... I had a toothache anyway, so I was more concerned with painless chewing than whether or not my guac was there.

Service was OK--I've only been in in the afternoon/early evening, and it's never been busy.

An excellently HUGE menu, and I have yet to sample Mellow's breakfast selections... but I will be back, multiple times.  Count me in!

Their menu is all comfort foods, but a WIDE VARIETY!! Burgers, entrees, breakfast all day, crepes, desserts, Mexican food, exotic food, appetizers. The menu is like 10 pages thick. And their drink options are huge too (although not so much alcoholic options.) Lots of floats, sodas, shakes, etc.  Seating is some booths, some little bistro tables & chairs. Parking is tight with a few street spots in front, and a parking lot in back that is shared by the entire Hyde Park downtown

This place is good for groups as well.  Note- service isn't speedy (at least whenever I've been there.)

Pros: Great menu, good variety, cheap prices!!
Cons: One step up from a neighborhood diner.  (But that's not necessarily "bad")

Almost everything about this place is consistently 3 stars.  Food, service, prices--nothing spectacular but definitely solid.  I gave them an extra star because the menu is enormous and diverse.  It's extremely difficult to maintain consistency with that kind of menu.  Also, lots of desert options and a full bar.

If you're with a group of people who all want something different to eat, this is the place to go.

The quality of this place has declined exponentially over the years. I can remember when this was a "destination" spot for the crepes and for the roasted chicken. Now the food is just terrible. The dining room is often dirty and the service is horrendous, even when it's completely empty.

I wouldn't recommend this place anymore. Go down the street to Valois. or across the street to Pizza Capri.

Mellow Yellow has an oddly extensive menu, with all of the food being average. Its pretty boring to tell the truth. You'll probably find something you like to eat on the menu, and it'll be ok. You can eat it, in fact, parts of it you might even enjoy. But you are not going to be jumping in your car to go back.

The service is usually pretty bad, and during breakfast busy times it is even worse. Luckily, the place is cheap and you do get a lot of food. They also have a full bar which is rare in Hyde Park.

Mellow Yellow is in the neighborhood so we enjoy walking to get a bite to eat at this quick sit down place. The prices are reasonable and I actually enjoy the exposed brick walls, and haphazard decorations, It's not outdated or tacky, It's just not put together by a designer, and Its not really meant to be a hot trendy place.

Every time I've been, there have a been a good number of customers in. I've never not enjoyed my food, perhaps I am lucky, but our food has always been excellent. Their menu covers a lot of different types of cuisine, which can often be risky for a restaurant, Here I think they manage to do a good job with just about anything.

As for the service, yes, I've had some slow waiters, or waiters that can't seem to understand what I am saying, but the food, the atmosphere, its a very casual comfortable place, usually makes up for any lacking in the service department.

I recommend: Steak quesadillas, or broccoli cheese baked potato dinner (It's huge) and makes great comfort food. The chili is excellent as well.

    2.5 stars

I went here for lunch with really low expectations. Right before the food came out, my friend noticed the neon margarita sign in the window. WHAT?? THEY SERVE ALCOHOL?! I assumed that  1) since it was a "diner " and 2) since our server didn't give/offer us a drink menu, Mellow Yellow did not serve alcohol.

Can you tell I needed a drink?

And by the way, what server doesn't try to run up the bill by pushing alcohol?

Food was okay. Decor is confusing. Service was kinda slow. I think I would only come back here to try the breakfast food.

The song was playing in my head the whole time I was here....went with a co-worker after picking her up from Midway. The place is obviously stuck in some 1970's love triangle complete with suspended wood burning stove in the adjacent dining room. Had the rotisserie chicken and it was smokin' hot and somewhat bland but that is how I like chicken. (I know I am strange). Mashed potatoes were a little salty but again, I liked them. Coleslaw was not good but not bad. All in all a satisfying meal. Similar to what I would have at my mother's so.....

Our server was really attentive and the crowd is typical Hyde Park mix. The floor is filthy and the bathroom could use a remodel but the food was totally worth the price and I got full!!!

After a trip to the local bookstore, Mellow Yellow was a convenient spot to have dinner. It looked like a regular restaurant with food that wouldn't be too surprising. It's just your average restaurant that is a step up from a diner.

The food was OK. It's not the best rotisserie chicken that I've ever had, but it hit the spot. The fries were fresh and hot. The chicken was well seasoned and just nearing becoming too dry.

Our waitress was the best. She always refilled our drinks right before they were emptied. She brought the appetizer and asked if we'd like certain sauces. She just kept checking on us, but not enough to be annoying. Honestly, her service is the best that I've had in a long time, so I left a $10 tip on a $23 meal.

I wouldn't be opposed to eating here again. It wasn't my favorite place, but if I were in the area and hungry, I'd drop in.

Mellow Yellow..... So I used to chill with a girl that lived across from Rib's & Bib"s or w/e the name was. She suggested Mellow Yellow, i said sure. Ok i want to really complain here but put forth the fact that I eat certain things and like things that i eat a certain way etc etc. So anyway. I am a vegetarian, I didnt expect much vegetarian friendly to be on the menu but i figured i would find something. so i got a veggie quesadilla. It was the worst quesadilla I had ever had. I didnt complain i just ate some of her fries and at like a piece of the quesadilla. I ordered gingerale. It was the worst gingerale I had ever had in my life. So, we leave. after she is done eating.lol.

So Im with her again, I'm starving, she suggest this joint again. I figure ok it's breakfast it should be cool. So i get an omelette with mozzorella onions and spinach. The omelette, looked like...i dont even know. it tasted absolutely horrible. I ate my toast and i had a side of grits. the grits and toast were delicious. how could u go wrong with them? so then i got gingerale again. it was the same disgusting gingerale not only that, but  the cup had a sweet n low empty packet inside ...which i hadn't used sweet n low. I completely stopped drinking and she was done eating her food and we left. she enjoyed the food i guess. but that was the worst food that i have ever had ....i want to say in my life.

When I went in, I wasn't really expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was a special that night on Margaritas; The glasses were huge and I thought it tasted great. The food took a little while to cook, but it was also quite tasty. Service was a little slow, but I wasn't in any rush so it didn't bother me.

Edit: I came back for breakfast. They had a nice selection and it was quite tasty, but I felt that it was a little overpriced for just breakfast food.

Have you ever been to Fish Creek Wisconsin (infamous Door County)? The Pelletiers own a restaurant there which serves a hearty breakfast. The Mr. Pelletier who used to own Mellow Yellow died recently and while reading my Hyde Park Herald, discovered he was from that same Door County lineage.
All that to say - try the Swedish Pancakes with lingionberries (sp?). The best I've eatten outside of Door County. I think they are better than Tre Kronan Rest. in Swedishville!

    Three strikes and you're out.

This is a place I was really excited to try.  My boyfriend grew up eating there with his father, and he had fond memories of it.  While the food was pretty good, and priced very reasonably, the service was so appalling I was prompted to write my first-ever letter to a manager.

The first time we visited, it was New Years Eve around 9pm.  The service was horrible, but I was okay with that because, well, it was New Year's Eve.  I have a soul, my heart is not black, I understand the last thing on their mind was me at that moment.

The second time we visited we literally had to get up and find someone to get us the things we needed.  Ketchup?  Refill? Check?  Hello?  No one home.

The third time we went, we waited 15 minutes at the door and were ignored by exactly 4 staff people.  We were never, greeted, seated, or waited on.  Of course, we left.

The food was good, but the service was so reprehensible...  I can't ever give it another try.

I walked in without much expection. Luckily it was uncrowded and I got seated right away. The Decor was eclectic and inviting for this rather seemingly small place(Lava lamps, a large chalkboard, funky signs, a stoplight, etc). The Menu was LOADED with stuff I could hardly make up my mind, plus they serve breakfast all day.
I ordered a Lemonade which is free refills (along with soda/coffee) and the Chili which was great and come out fast.
The Big Caveot is service, My lemonade wasn't automatically refilled apparently they expect you to ask. The server didn't even suggest that my drink get refilled. I know I'm not a wildly exciting guest for a male server, but hey at least he was polite, right?
Go here for a less expensive sitdown place to eat with really great food choices, but you may need to buddy up to the servers to get better service.

Mellow Yellow used to be such a hallowed restaurant in Hyde Park, lauded citywide for it's chili and great breakfasts. Unfortunately, Mellow Yellow has not kept up with these standards in recent years. Unfortunate because this used to be a family favorite of mine.

Mellow Yellow's wait staff has gotten sluggish over the years. I am not sure who they are recruiting and hiring for wait staff, but the kind of help customers are getting here these days tends to be a little more lazy, and less friendly than their counterparts of yesteryear.

I will say that the breakfasts are still good, but if you really want a great breakfast, for a cheaper price, you're better off going to Valois next door than spending the average time of 1.5 hours for a breakfast the normally should take only 20 min to make.

Three stars for staying in business this long, their breakfasts, and their iconic status in Hyde Park. Be wary though; this place is on it's way down.

    Great food, slow service.

We go here for the pancakes. Since some already mentioned it's 70's theme I want say much. But they have crepes and Swedish pancakes!! And a great breakfast menu. While I was pregnant I love to eat here. (and afterward too)

They have an early bird special. Ummmm. I am salivating right now thinking of it !! Whenever a family member would come to visit they had to go to Mellow Yellow!
