Mesa is pretty awesome! Â As soon as you walk through the door you can smell the delicious food. I don't care for the way everything mexican comes with onions and.or Guatemala but you can get it 86ed.
The portions were big too. Â At least on the burrito and Nachos. Â My wife and I got those two items and were full by the time the Nachos were gone. Â The Burrito was GREAT! (Even better for breakfast the next morning.)
The decor of this place is, well, out there. Â I'm not really sure what they were going for with it. Â Especially with some random old and 'distressed' wood doors hanging on the walls. Â It's a hodge podge of decorating that seems they grabbed all they could from the discount/discontinued area of the home depot and did some of the store.
However, I won't let the odd look keep me away from the best Nachos I've had in a LOOONG time! Â The Chicken is AMAZING! Â I may have to try a burger next time I go. I hear good things
I definitely enjoy some mesa fresh from time to time. They have tasty, mostly very fresh mexican foods. Everything I've had there has been good even their hamburgers and fries are surprisingly good. The cashiers are always friendly and helpful. The decor and dining area are what you would expect from any chain place. Overall, I've had great experiences there and would recommend.
Review Source:An interesting blend of background music that ranged a pretty wide spectrum of genres. Anywho... the food was good. One of the more enjoyable meals I've had with Mexican cuisine, and probably a bit cheaper per unit volume than chipotle (at least chipotle in the cities). They've also go milk shakes and burgers. Perhaps trying to have something for everyone.
Smother your burritos. Do it.
Mesa is good, but not great. The staff is lovely and the service was good. In fact, it looks like my buddy is the GM and I can get behind that.
It's a normal mexi-joint. Good fresh food. Anything you get will be good...but...
The portions left me wanting more...and it was a little salty which happens from time to time in these places.
If I'm in charge? Let the freshness speak for itself and put salt on the table, dammit!
I went here last weekend on my way home from shopping and I was VERY pleasantly surprised! Â The food was fresh and made to order. Â It was also very quickly made which can sometimes be a bad thing but it was actually kind of amazing how quickly it was made and how delicious it truly was. Â I ordered the Tostada Salad with veggies and the veggies were cubed making it much easier to eat than Qdoba or Chipotle salads. Â
I read that some people thought the music was too loud but I did not find this to be an issue at all. Â The music was pleasant, although it wasn't what I would have expected. Â Some XM/Sirius station with a mix which I always love. Â
The also have a station with sauces which I totally appreciated because I like to dip and try, not have my food slathered by the food makers.
If I lived closer to this place, I would be eating here weekly.
We go Mesa bout once a month. Something for everyone, and its all A-OK. I like the fish tacos, Missus JJ gets nachos or fajitas, the little J gets chicken fingers.
Somebody hid a burger joint inside our Mesa. One door, Dos Menus. The burgers are much better than your garden variety fast food and I prefer them to Five Guys or Zacs. The fries can be perfectly evil if you are like me and love crinkle cuts with whiz and ketchup, or load em up with chili, gravy, buffalo style or even PB&J.
Now, I wish we had a Dos Pesos (Houston's finest drive through mexi) but we don't, and I like Mesa way better than Chipotle, Qdoba and most of the others, although I used to hit a Baja Fresh in Bethesda that was really good.
So, if you are in Marple, the Mecca of Mexican (Moe's, Mesa and Taco Bell all within about 1/4 mile, wassup with that?) Mesa gets my vote for best place to fill-a your tortilla.
It was OK. Â Not bad, not outstanding, but just OK. Â Compared to Baja Fresh, or Moe's Southwest Grill, it is good, but just fell short on several items. Â Yes, your order is cooked fast... Â the way the menu reads it and no more. Â I like Moe's because you can tell them each and every ingredient on your salad. Â And I'm totally picky on my food. Â Then there was the exercise in ordering from the hyper cashier, who apparently had six too many espressos and was pinging off the walls. No Starbucks for you. Â EVER...
Review Source:I went here for takeout on a Saturday at noon. The line was long-ish but the staff was super-efficient. The cashier said my order for 4 people would take 4-7 minutes. I went to the restroom, and when I got back, the order was ready! Super fast! I felt like there was no wait at all! I had a steak salad in a tortilla bowl. Everything tasted really fresh and yummy! I would definitely go back and try other items on the menu!
Review Source:Why do I keep coming here? First of all, the music is loud - not Mexican music - more like Metallica. Secondly, the mango chicken salad was bland! How is this possible? We both noticed that the salsa tasted more like a pleasantly spicy marina than actual salsa.
The people were quite friendly. They did oblige our request to turn down the volume (by turning the music off). The service is quick and my husband likes the food. However, I'm partial to Qdoba over Mesa Fresh. I think they've lost their edge.
We are so happy that there is a place in Springfield to get great Mexican food!
My husband and I order from here at least once a week, usually twice. We've had the burritos, chicken fajitas, and the chips and queso (which will knock your socks off). It's good to great, not excellent, based on the day and time you order. Take out only takes 5-10 minutes, and the food is always fresh.
Best Fresh Mexican place I've tried in the region. I've been to Baja Fresh, Chipolte, and others, they have the best food! by far
Atmosphere - Kinda Southwestern feel to it, but being in the Southwest before, Â I say they try a little too hard. Plenty of families there, but that's because they have healthy food. Parents need to control their kids when they're out at any restaurant, not the restaurants fault.
Staff - No servers, based on an 'order up' menu system. Clean restaurant and one of the more immaculate bathrooms when I go. Cashiers are friendly and can recommend good parings of food or quality of something you may not have. Cooks are always quick and not long for waits during lunch/dinner rush.
Food - BEST part about Mesa, one of the best burritos I've ever had! El Norte burrito is packed (can get chicken, pork, or steak) and all FRESH ingredients. Generous supply of homemade salsa can be requested at no extra charge. Wife loves the fresh guacamole as well.
Intangibles: Fresh sides for your food (cilantro, jalapenos, onions, even lemon for iced teas). Packaged together with a "Joe Spuds" restaurant, but that's a different review, stick with Mesa Fresh. Warm chips and salsa with every meal are a nice touch and delicious to boot.
Overall: A nice place to get some great food that's affordable and delicious. Have two other locations as well, which is great for anyone in the region to have close by. If you're not a burrito fan, try the fish or shrimp tacos, both are really, really good and hard to find something like it in this area.
Went for dinner on Sunday. Â
Cashier was a bit rude - made us feel like we were taking her away from something more important. Â The place also has all of the atmosphere of a food court at the mall. Â The food also took quite a while - far longer than their competitors like Quoboda or California Tortilla.
All that being said, the food was quite good. Â I'd still pick California Tortilla over them, but I'd eat there again.
only a few things come to mind for this place....
1.) wayyyyy to many parents who need to go to mcdonalds....or something......
2.)this place is a good ole fashioned Mexican food, though the variety, was a bit small.....its authentic, fresh, and good
3.) BYOB!!!! YOU CAN BRING WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!! that's why this place doesn't need kids...i see people drinking wine and beer....and pushing baby strollers. nonsense!!! the staff is all about cooking and serving that's it....but i mean, babies galore!!! and wine too!!!! my b.f. and i love this place, but the only real downside are all the babies running around. that's it!!!!! support this place folks!!! its great!!!!
Pros: It's not Taco Bell. Everything they make taste fresh. They teamed up with Spudz (I think that's what it's called) who makes American food (burger, fries, etc.). Price is cheap. Portions are relatively large, especially the burritos.
Cons: Nothing so far.
Recommendations: Carnitas Mexican (if you like pork)
I stopped into Mesa Fresh with a friend after some shopping last night. If you've ever been to Baja Fresh, it's a lot like that (I don't know if the two chains are somehow connected though).
I got a vegetarian burrito with pinto beans. It was cheap, very delectable, and very large! -- had to eat it with a fork and knife. It came with a side of fresh made tortilla chips and freshly made salsa, which honestly was my favourite part! There's nothing like fresh salsa, if you ask me... one of life's simple (food) pleasures.
If I saw another Mesa Fresh somewhere, I'd definitely stop in. You definitely get some good food for your money -- plus free refills on drinks. :-)
