I've been going to pool halls in Delaware County and Philadelphia for a lot more years than I care to think about. Drexeline Billiards caught my interest a long time ago because I saw a tournament on a Tuesday night where anyone could win. You don't have to be a fabulous player and you can beat much better players because they utilize a fair system of handicapping. This gives everyone a chance to win.
I like the very clean no-smoking atmosphere, good sandwiches and the friendly repartee. People are willing to share their knowledge and tricks about how you can improve your game.
Bob Maidhof, the owner, runs a tight ship and is one of the best players you will ever see.
You can even relax and play a little chess while enjoying your pizza or hot dog or piled high turkey sandwich.

Wow, I was transported back to the 70's
Wood paneling and lots of it.
A good friend who is also a pool enthusiast recommended checking this place out. Â It is located behind a shopping center and it's very tough to find if you don't know what you're looking for. Â The outside of the place almost makes it look shady. Â
Once you walk in, you see that it is truly a pool hall. Â Thank God. Â 9 foot tables, good felt, and sticks that are actually usable. Â They have a small kitchenette where they make pizza and hot dogs. Â We grabbed hoagies from WaWa and brought them with us. Â The place is definitely frozen in time. Â They have a crazy old analog machine that keeps track of how much time you've spent on the table. Â It was pretty amazing.
An honest, straightforward pool hall. Â I loved it.
