This sports bar is huge. Â Bonus is they have a walk up window and you can get take-out quickly or they sell lunch specials thru there. Â On Wednesday they had a lobster roll for only $8 take out only.
The back area behind the bar was cooler than the front section where we first walked in. Â We came for 1 thing and 1 thing only on a Wednesday night. Â Lobsters! Â That's right, $12.99 for a lobster how can you go wrong!? Â Broiled/Steamed 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb lobster with a salad, a side and coleslaw. Â
How could we go wrong? Â Well first of all my friends salad came out with cheese, the opposite of what she asked for. Â Then the french onion soup came out really thick and salty. Â Then our friends rack of ribs came out before our lobster entrees. Â We should've know, bad things come in three's. Â Next the food runner brought out our lobsters in a take out bag. Â Our waiter had no idea how that happened! Â It wasn't his fault, the kitchen and food runners kept messing up our orders. Â
After we received our lobsters and an apology from the manager on duty, we were happily eating. Â It did take a while for them to correct their mistakes. Â But the prices were reasonable, so I'm willing to come back and give them another try. Â They have daily specials, on Mondays you can get a full set of baby back ribs for only $10.99. Â They're better than Dallas BBQ which is in the same outdoor mall. Â Drink specials are a great deal too! Â You can get a huge glass of Miller light for like $2. Â
I'm hoping they're working on getting their kinks out, since this is a new place in Rego Park.
It is what it is - pretty on par with your typical Red Lobster, Outback etc type of restaurant. If there's a game one I'm sure it'd be awesome because of the sheer amount of televisions mounted - I couldn't count how many there were!
I had the seafood medly pasta and it had tons of seafood! Two clams, two scallops, 6 mussells and a lot of shrimp. Everything was cooked wonderfully and not overdone. We ordered mini burgers from the kids menu (well done) so for my taste, it was dry but I wouldn't order anything less than well done for a child! Â We also had blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich which was very dry as a sandwich. I wished there were sauce or something to compliment it but it was just a fish filet on a bun. The fish was delicious though!
I'd like to mention that I'm a fan of the ginormous cups! I prefer not needing to find the waitress anytime I need a refill. To that note, my waitress came by with a new cup of soda before I finished. The second cup is noticeably smaller which I appreciate. Sometimes I just need a little more for the rest of my meal, not an entire cup which I feel is just a waste...
Our waitress was polite and accommodating which I appreciated. She couldn't really explain the difference in the way the fish was cooked though.
The booth we sat in was huge - great for a big family or just a family with two kids that like to run around!
I will definitely be back - Â I spied a raw bar on the menu.
Prices are for sure better than Red Lobster, Outback etc.
