ok so, we walked in on a saturday night, place was pretty empty, we took it as a good thing, no wait for a table, should have known otherwise. while the food is decent (excluding the fried rubber they call "fish and chips" they messed up our drink order, which was taken by one person and filled by another, so we understood, but after it was straightened out  it took another 30 minutes for the correct order of drinks to come (then 20 minutes later, someone form the bar comes looking to serve the incorrect order anyway). then we ordered out entrees, and my mother ordered french onion soup (which was good) and my father a salad, the salad came with no dressing, and it took a while before he got the dressing (he got a second salad accidentally before he got the dressing).
There were several burgers ordered, (3 burgers, 2 bistro, and one British,) upon bringing the burgers, the waiter (not our actual table attendant) called out the wrong name, gave the wrong burger to the wrong person, confused us when he said he had 3 bistro burgers and  when asked if he could repeat the name he said
"Bistro Burger, i said it twice, damn"
then he got his wings, which he ordered with extra Blu Cheese, he got none. the fish and chips were ordered and were rubbery (thankfully the staff took care of it and we were not charged) it took 3 different times asking for to go boxes. very slow service, very mixed up kitchen. thankfully (some) of the staff was kind and could handle all the problems. other staff members were rude. very disappointed and wont be returning.
I would like to recognize Alejandro for doing an outstanding job playing the role of manager, host and server.
Manager on Duty, never saw them.
Host, looked bitter and horrible customer service.
The 1st server, was in training and was slow.
Not her fault. This is basic manager 101. Someone needs to shadow her to ensure quality of service.
15min from seated to when we received our 1st drink. At that point we were begining to leave, when Alejandro swoops in and convinces us to stay and allow him to correct all the wrongs.
As advertised Alejandro delivered. He really knocked it out of the park w his personality and customer service.
He is a Stellar Employee;BRAVO.
The food was mediocre. The chicken in the nachos tasted just boiled. No seasoning.
Fajitas, no flavor. I had to bring them home to fix them for consumption.
Calamari was impressive.
A disappointing 1st time visit.
More like NMB fAle House.
Not worth the fisit. Plenty of other places in the vicinity
Can't complain, lots of portions --- and the prices are great, too.
It's hilarious, though, there was a see of 65+ somethings enjoying their $10.95 Wednesday Lobster special.
One had a bib with a picture of a lobster on it.
He was Cuban.
Bring your friends, your family... your date, and enjoy a plethora of food for generous prices.
Been coming here for a few years now. I actually think this place is more of a 3 but I've always preferred Ale House food over Miami Prime or Duffy's food down the street. Duffy's food is too bland or too salty compared to Ale House and as for Miami Prime . . well, their not-so-current situation says it all.
Great lunch specials, which changes every month! I prefer their wings over a lot of places. You can never go wrong with the Shrimp Scampi Pasta, Spinach Dip, Fiesta Nachos, Bahamian Dolphin, Southwestern Bistro Steak Salad, and oh man, the list continues. I could go on and on about the menu, lol. But let's not do that.
Great drink specials - always something different every night. Such a great place for groups! My friends and I have had so many celebrations at this restaurant. Service is not always great/consistent here but sometimes you get that one server that will go the extra mile to make sure you feel like you're actually welcome to come back.
Tuesday nights are kids-eat-free nights! Other nights, they're only $4.95 which includes the drink AND a scoop of ice cream. They even hire a clown for the night so they can go around and make balloons for the kids! Free of charge, but tipping is always encouraged :)
This place is definitely one of those review-after-you've-been-here-a-couple-times situations. You can't sum this place up after one visit. They always manage to surprise you and hence, the 4.
Where do I start? Sooo I came along this spot from recommendation from a few friends. I was told to go on Thursday night which is college night, they have drink and food specials. The food was great but the free mixed drinks were not to die for. The Heineken were $3.00 and appetizers were $5.00.
Now let's get to the service part, our super friendly waitress for the night was either on something or she was already drunk for the night. It was ladies night and on Thursday night ladies drink free which is a plus! (Forgot to mention that) One of my friends doesn't drink any alcoholic drinks so the waitress got really friendly sat at our table and told my friend to order a free drink all she had to was take it to the ladies restroom and sit it on top of the napkin dispenser, she will drink it on my friends behalf. She was nice but a too weird!! Lol
I will return on college nights, but I think I will sit at the bar next time.
Ok... I have been to a few of the Ale House locations... never commented on them before... but this one is well worth a visit. Â There are two managers here (Nick and Hobert) that have made me feel like a friend when I have been in. Â Both take the time to talk to you, which is rare in this town. Â The bartenders (Alex and Tara) are great and good conversation. Â
It is not fine dining and I am giving the stars as a result of the staff's care that they have shown me... but the food is pretty good for the price and the drinks are dirt cheap. Â I have to laugh at the comment made by the lady about having to pay $10 to get in. Â I was there that night... it was the Pacquaio/Margarito fight.... and there was not a place in Miami you could go that would show it for free... and even in that busy crowd I still felt like I was treated like a king!
Solid place for Football and good bar food. I think I have literally had everything on that menu since I pretty much go there every Sunday to watch football.
Everything is good and the drink prices are simply unbeatable. They have specials every day of the week and I believe on Thursdays ladies drink free till 11 or midnight.
I highly recommend it if you are looking to watch some sports in a nice no thrills setting!
This place gets 4 stars now that I've been here a few more times.
The spin dip, zingers with BBQ sauce on the side, and basket of fries are consistently good. Zingers reheat well too. Two thumbs up!
If you come here when there's a major football game on, make sure you come early or be prepared to wait. People are not leaving in the middle of a game.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Â For years this Ale House was my "go to" place for good food, cheap drinks and a fun time. Â Then I bounced around the world for half a decade. Â When I returned to SoFla late last year, Ale House was one of the first places I wanted to hit.
My first time back was less than stellar, as was the second, third, fourth... Â I honestly don't know why I've given this place so many chances. Â Perhaps nostalgia has something to do with it, but that can only take you so far.
They can't do "well done" wings to save their lives. Â Every time we order them it takes several trips back to the kitchen to get it right. Â The bartender's don't seem to understand the concept of a mixed drink either. Â They fill your glass with mixer and then wave the bottle in front of it as opposed to the other way around (which I greatly prefer). Â Stick with beer to avoid disappointment.
Most places go through a phase of "bad service", it's just the nature of the beast, but Ale House's has lasted so long I'm strongly considering striking it from my list.
It was a regular day.. nothing serious.. until I got my entree (Chicken Parmigiana) while Ralphie still waited for his. Our waitress Adrienne or Adriana (??) seemed energetic and cool at first, but just like Ralphie said, "her energetic personality really SLOWED her down" because  every time she passed by us, she would be like, " Ohh, I forgot!", "Ooops, I'll be right back." and kept giggling and chatting up with her other customers.
Finally, when Ralphie's Big Red came, the chicken turned out to be smaller than it usually was. Are their grilled chicken breasts smaller than the breaded kinds??I guess so. He seemed pretty annoyed and not full. If you're on a diet and don't eat a lot of meat, that's what you should order.
I had to wait for her to bring me some parmesan (I just love to have a lot of cheese) to add on my entree.. but she just took so long.. after coming back 3 times forgetting about it, the food was already getting cold.. Ralph already finished his. At that point, I didn't even bother to get myself an alcoholic drink.
We asked for our check, and she brings that one back surprisingly quicker than water refills and simple thing like parmesan. We wait for another 5 minutes.. She takes the card and then we wait again.. When we get back the receipt, we sign it and leave her a more than ok, generous amount tip (I'll have more singles next time.. big mistake.) She doesn't come back for a long time..
We wait, and then we see the hostess girl come to the table and take it away.. Ralph goes back and asks her to hold on and he wanted to double check his receipt. She was picking it up for her, which was nice of her but why even do that? That's not her job! She's supposed to pay attention to the people that came in and those people by the way felt ignored and walked away and looked for a table themselves. She just ignored them and came into our table after we almost left.
I don't know what happened to the nice staff.. Â I give it two more months to see another nice staff again..
Yea nothing special just regular bar food with some specials. Not impressed  ive been here about 10 times because its so close to my house. Its a cool chill atmosphere but i dont think food is so good...very bland..no flavor...blender was not working and still charged us for snowball drinks.  Try RACKS OR MIAMI PRIME which are both close and way better food, people and atmosphere.
Review Source:Going into this place, you will get what you expect. It's not amazing and its not horrible, but its a good place to grab some food and beer (they have a LOT of beer on tap) and watch a game.
But the one thing i seriously recommend getting are the jalapeno poppers. they actually might be some of the best jalapeno poppers I have ever had. They actually have real slices of jalapenos in them instead of mixed in with cheddar cheese. Also instead of cheddar they use real cream cheese. my ONLY issue is that for like $7 or $8 you only get like 6, because i could eat an entire basket by myself.
Usually have fish n chips which is good for the $, but ate fried fish for lunch at capt jim's (3.5 star food) so tried the wings and ribs. Wings are juicier than others but not much meat; but that's wings right? Â Get a side of hot sauce to dip wings in. Â The ribs were ok, not juicy and not succulent, hence the lower rating. Cap Jack desert is a must try, but we split 3 ways due to calories. Â Draft beer at another ale house wa flat so I didn't try it here.
Review Source:As far as a bar nightlife goes, probably not a place for me. Tho the beer is SUPER cheap and they do have Newcastle Brown Ale. So they get points for that.
But my thing about this place is the food. I LOVE their menu!
Everytime I come here, i might get different snacks, but i ALWAYS have their Southwest Bistro Salad. I've never had such an awsome salad in my life!
I'm addicted to it!
We love it.
Our typical visit goes like this.
Its a crazy day running around for both myself and my husband, usually doing some business we have to do together and we are beat but need to do a little more talking and we KNOW if we go home we will crash, but the kids need dinner and we need to take some notes about the day.
So we pick up the kids from the sitter and head here because they acutally have a big varied selection on their kids menu, and for me its all about feeding the little guys a good meal they will actually eat. Â
Usually we are seated right away in a booth, sometimes if its super busy we will wait but I've never waited more than 15 minutes and that was with a group of 6. Â
Service can be spotty, but there is so much SPORTS on the different tv's we never seem to notice or let it bother us. Â We're off the clock now and its family time. Â Its funny though, we all sit down, and then we all swap seats so we can see whatever we want to watch on the TV while talking. Â Last night was a Man U game and the baseball which my husband wanted to watch and he could see both from my seat. Â The kids and I were watching some Nascar action and the Yankees game.
The food here is probably always 95% spot on for us. Â We like to start with the Zingers. Â My favorite is the Osso Bucco but I am also partial to the Jambalaya or the Seafood Medley. Â
Kids meal is a great deal for about $4.95. Â Meal, Soda (with free refills) and a scoop of Ice Cream. Â
Family from Ireland LOVE this place. Â They love the beer and dinner specials (last night was a lobster dinner for something like $10 and change). Â They love the whole American feel and they LOVE the desserts.
OK its not gourmet cooking, but the price tag of  dinner for four for about $40 which includes two beers - you can't go wrong with that if it saves your sanity which the Ale House always does for me.
I absolutely love going to the Ale House. I always have a great time, they have awesome drink specials, they play great music, and there is always a good game on to watch.
So, I go almost every week because of those reasons; however, there are some things that always seem to make my experiences there less than perfect. Recently, there was a great waitress there that my friends and I loved. She was prompt, friendly, and just had a great personality. Unfortunately, we found out she was fired for apparently missing some shifts. All of the other servers we had there, have been awful! I've had slow service, rude service, and there was even a waiter that got fired for charging more on people's credit cards (he did it to a friend of mine).
The food is pretty good bar food. We love the zinger mountain melt and the nachos, and I've heard that the fish and chips is really good. The drink specials are phenomenal. It keeps us coming back almost every week.
Late at night, kids are not supposed to be in the bar area, but management doesn't seem to enforce this, which I don't really like because the parents end up drinking too much and letting their kids run all over the place. It isn't a big deal, just something I've noticed. My only big complaint with this place is the service. For a while, I was really optimistic when we had that awesome waitress, and I will continue to go there because it's fun. I just hope that management works on the quality of the wait staff.
I really like the Ale House. They have good food, great prices, and a full bar with drink specials that can't be beat in South Florida.
When I go the the Ale House I tend to get a Big Red, which is a basically a buffalo chicken sandwich with cheese. I have strayed away from my #1 choice and still enjoyed my meal however.
My wife gets something different every time but loves going on Mondays for their Tequila Sunrise for a $1 deal. Everyday they have a different $1 drink deal but beyond that they have all kinds of drink deals. From buckets of beers to absinthe drinks they have a menu just for the specials.
The restaurant is broken up by the bar in the middle. There used to be a smoking side, with the pool tables, and the nonsmoking but now that it is not legal in Florida you might get sat in the louder section. If you are looking for a quieter experience, even more so when there is a game on, I recommend sitting on the side closest to the door.
If you are looking for a great place to hang out with friends, gets some drinks and a bit of food, this is the place to go.
Living in the neighborhood, I wanted so bad to make this my " local hangout " spot. I mean, the food is not that bad ...... its just the service ! I would compare this place to an old love / hate relationship with an ex-girlfriend........ I've been pretty patient and tried numorous times to make it work, but there's no point.
In the beginning, when we moved into the neighborhood, we would go at least twice a week, hoping it would be our " 19th " hole after a round of golf . Everytime we swung by like a bad " slice,'' we would always go and sit at the bar . You'd think after a few months of  stopping by, they would at least remember your face ? I wouldnt expect  the bartenders or servers to remember your name, but who can forget a Notah Begay look-alike ?? And as far as the service ?? ...... It's like being stuck behind a foursome of retired artists watching paint dry.
All I can say is, avoid this place if you're thirsty for a beer and talking story after a round of golf with the boys .... but a good place if you're not in a hurry and if you lost a bet on the course. This place has good drinks specials for those with a light wallet ..... FORE !!!!!!
One reason I have continued to come here despite the sub-par service: their chicken wings. However, months ago we dined here but the service was really bad so we never came back. That was until we were driving past it about a week ago and  noticed a "Under New Management" sign. So, I figured we'd give it one more shot. Unfortunately, the new management hasn't seemed to improve much.
My chicken wings came out hardly dipped in any sauce - so why bother offering 6 or so different flavors if they are skimping out? A shame too, because I get cravings for their wings drenched in their honey mustard sauce (or hot sauce depending on my mood).
The only upside was ordering a sangria that was actually quite good. However, the service again was exceptionally long and being that the boyfriend and I aren't really sports fans, we've decided to knock this restaurant off our rotation list.
The beer selection was basic, contrary to what you may believe from the name. I was expecting something more along the lines of a microbrewery or the Hop Devil Grill in the LES of Manhattan, but was disappointed.
The food was comparable to Ruby Tuesdays. Again, nothing special even though the Zingers seemed to be their selling point. Personally, I think you could find their Zingers from Costco...
I left full and had a buzz, so can't give it a 1 star.
I ate at the North Miami Ale House for the second time in my life last night. It was not bad, it was not great.
Our waitress was nice, very friendly, perhaps overly friendly.
I ordered the zinger tacos, which is a new menu item. They were good. I should have thought that I'm not a big fan of buffalo sauce, but hey, my hubs is and I saved one for him, which he had after his burger and he loved it. Thought it was better than the burger itself. It had medium sauce, and according to him it was the right mix of spicy and mild to not cause your stomach to explode.
He had their main burger, can't remember the name right now, the ones that comes w/the onion ring. It was alright, I've tasted better - but don't take it from me, I'm not a burger person.
Anyway, Ale House = Bar Food
You don't really go wrong with that.
Oh yeah... As long as you like sports, the TVs all around the place will keep you entertained if the conversation runs out.
You can't go wrong with a Miami-area "Ale House". You know what you're in for when you walk through the doors...a cookie-cutter beer joint with decent food and reasonable prices. Had their clam chowder for the first time yesterday and after some crackers and a dash of tabasco, it hit the spot. There's a drink special for every day of the week, however, they looked at me like I was from another planet when I ordered their prominently displayed "$6.95 pitcher of Miller High Life"--guess it's just for show.
Review Source:A place like this has no business calling itself an "Ale House". It's basically one of those places with that uncanny ability to have a dozen or so beers on tap but basically no selection! What's worse, very few of them were actually "ales". Sure, they had Smithwicks and Blue Moon. Technically speaking, those may be ales. But they're certainly not very adventurous ones.
Why should I ever return to NMB Ale House? Does it have anything to offer besides an inviting name?
I was looking for some good, cheap bar food after kayaking all day at Oleta State Park. Â I really didn't expect too much... maybe a good burger. Â It's funny how bad this place was -- from the minute I walked in.
I stood at the door for a good two minutes. Â Two servers walked past me, avoiding eye contact -- probably not on purpose -- but still. Â Finally a manager-looking guy strolled up and sat me. Â Ok, whatever, it's a sports/beer bar, not fine dining.
The place kinda smelled like stale, spilled beer and the longer I sat there the less of an appetite I had.  Well, I figured fish and chips would be a safe bet -- it's always a good thing at  a good beer bar.
Worst fish and chips I've ever had. Â The batter, or whatever you call it, was soggy and one bite just tasted like flour. Â The last couple of pieces just melted together into a blob of soggy batter, fish, grease and wax paper at the bottom of the basket. Â The salad I ordered came at the same time as the fish.
The salad was edible and the fries were decent though they were just your garden variety frozen fries. Ore-Ida?
The place just seemed completely mis-managed. Â While I was waiting for things -- and I waited a lot -- I saw food delivered to the wrong tables twice.
The assistant-manager-looking guy came to bus my table. Â As he walked up, the plump guy popped something in his mouth and asked me if I was done while chewing on it. Â Really??? Â That's how the manager acts? Â No surprise considering everything else.
Steer clear of this place and don't let the "Ale House" name fool you, it's hardly a true beer bar. Â If you're coming from anywhere else in the country don't expect ANY local brews or even any brews not from the major beer producers.
This place looks EXACTLY the same is the Doral Ale House. Â I knew it was a chain, but everything is the exact same, down to the placement of stacks of cocktail napkins on the bar.
Solid sports bar, they're always drink specials and lunch specials. Â They just added fish tacos to the menu. Â I had them last night. Â They weren't bad for a sports bar. Â
Service was slow though. Â I think I had a rookie bar tender. : /
While visiting my parents for a week, my wife and I decided to go out while our two year old was sleeping. Â I had been to NMB Ale House about ten years ago with my cousins for dinner. Â It was right around the corner from where we were staying and I wanted to catch some hoops, so I thought this would be the perfect place. Â
I suppose reviewing NMBAH is a bit tricky. Â It depends on what you are looking for. Â For just a sports bar setup its probably four stars. Â They have an excellent beer selection and big screens everywhere. Â That's the only way I would give NMBAH four stars though. Â The service although friendly was sub-par. Â The server had absolutely no idea about anything on the menu. I am from Chicago, and I like to try locally brewed beers where ever I am. Â I asked her what is a good locally brewed beer (this is an ale house after all) and she told me Anchor Steam. Â Her rationale was that she had never heard of it before moving to Miami, so it must be local. Â Unless San Francisco and Miami are now considered the same area of the country, than they are not local. Â The only connection I know of is that my first cousin's favorite NFL team is the 49ers and he lives in Aventura. Â That wasn't it. Â My wife wanted spinach dip and asked the server if she thought it was good, she said she would give theirs a seven, but Houston's a nine. Â OH! Houston's we ordered a bean dip, ate and called Houston's, Â Awesome,! Â they are open late. Â We left and went to Houston's.
If you want to hang out with the guys, have a few drinks and watch the game, Â NMBAH is a great spot, but if want some grub and sports mixed together, I would hope there are better choices.
If you went to North Miami Beach Senior High and want to have awkward run-ins with your old classmates, this is the place for you. It's also the place for you if you like no-nonsense sports/beer bars. Games are always on and beer is always flowing. The food is okay; nothing to write home about as far as pub food goes.
They have a good draft menu and specials almost every weeknight. The crowd tends to be a little young, 18-25, but at least the place is a destination in and of itself (there's nothing fun nearby, so people hoping to have a beer or 2 before going clubbing will be in for a rude awakening).
CHEERS
This huge ale house with lots of television sets in the very spacious dining room and bar is a good place to hang out with friends, have a drink (order a bucket of beer or something) and get some grub. You can also play pool here.
Most food here costs under $10. When I came here, I wasn't even hungry but decided on ordering a kid's meal that was not even more than $3. About that... let's just say that I know why kids are obese now since I left stuffed and had to scrap my plans on making dinner.
I had never been to Miami before but I was told about a Superbowl party that was an all you can drink/eat affair and it would only cost 50$. My buddy booked our reservation a few weeks in advance and we got a great table which was tucked away in the back of this rather large bar/dining hall. The food they had out was amazing a vast buffet of fish, pork, chicken, pasta, brisket and tons of other treats. It was completely packed as was to be expected on the one day of the year considered "The True-American Holiday".
My friends and I each took a few trips to the buffet and were truly satisfied with the food. It was delicious but nothing out of the ordinary just damn good. Our waitress was absolutely awesome and would take drink orders whenever needed. Since there was a non-stop flow of drinks it was amazing she remembered everything and was very prompt in serving us no matter how rowdy we were while watching the game.
I wouldn't say Miller's is a place to take a girl on a first date but I would definately recommend it to couples or people just looking to go out for a good time in a cool party atmosphere with decent prices and good drink specials. I would suggest checking their website for nights with drink specials because I do remember seeing a sign advertising for one of them and being surprised at how cheap it was.
Tip: 1) As is the case with most restaurants I found that our table was good because it was in a low traffic area which was close enough to the bar to be seen but out of the way enough to not feel like you are having drinks on the side of a freeway.
