I have only been to this place once so far but I have every intention of going back. My wife has been there more than once and always come back with something good to say.
The décor and look of the place are really nice. The Chicago theme was well received by me. I am also looking forward to spring to see what this place is like with the doors opened up.
The specials are really special. They have some of the best drink specials in the neighborhood depending on the night.
The Thursday night I went the place was packed for a Blackhawks game. I have to assume they were understaffed and didn't anticipate the amount of people they would get. The Blackhawks at the time hadn't lost a game and they had dollar Miller Bottles. So need less to say the service was slow. I will say that despite the slowness they were as attentive as they could be and they were still very nice.
I did not eat the food but I did see and smell enough of it to guess that it is typical bar fair with some highlights and lowlights.
The parking lot is small and only has one entrance/exit so that completely sucks. There is ample street parking. The bathrooms were fine.
All in all, I will be returning for the specials and will give the food a shot...
I really wanted to like this place since I heard so any good things about it from friends. My wife and I including my daughter was looking for a place for an early dinner so we thought we would give it a spin. The day we went was Saturday, January 12th about 4:30 in the afternoon. We walked and was unclear on what to do, seat ourselves or wait to be seated there where no directions on what to do. So we walked into the bar at sat ourselves. Within 20 minutes of sitting in our seats and numerous eye contacts with many of the servers it was like we did not exist. I actually got up and walk back to the entrance to see if we made the mistake and sat ourselves in the wrong part of this establishment to see if there was a dining area. I then walked back to my family and they where still sitting there with no drinks no menus and still no one to serve us. I have to mention that there was about 20-30 people already being served. So, my family and I finally got up and walked out. It was a very disappointing visit to Mo Dailey's.
Review Source:Finally had a chance to check out Mo Dailey's after passing by it so often. I wish I would have kept driving. The decor is decent - its a nice little pub - but the food is simply revolting! My husband ordered fish and chips and when the server brought it to us we were immediately struck by the most foul fishy smell. It was so pungent that we had trouble even eating the French fries. It was simply not edible and the experience left us feeling quite sick the whole day. How could they have not noticed this when they were preparing the food? We will definitely not be giving ths place another chance.
Review Source:The decor and atmosphere of this place is terrific, just what this area needed! Â Gotta talk to Mrs. Mo, she works there and will tell you the history behind everything that is in the joint. Â This is not a place that was decorated by a trip to the flea market, the uiforms and even the woodwork on display are a part of history, awsome stuff! Â Wait/Bar staff were perfect. Â Very friendly and genuine; not what you always get in other establishments. Â Had the Fish Sammy. Â Never had fish rolls on a burger bun before, kinda difficult to eat actually. Â Basic whitefish and not really fresh but was the special and AWESOME fries wih it! Â Great addition to the neighborhood!
Review Source:Second time there.  Had the sliders and fries.  They were o.k. (little too greasy for my liking).  Ordered a glass of iced tea, but unfortunately, they ran out that morning.  Now for the interesting part.......we live nearby and it is one of the places we could think of with outdoor seating.  After noticing  a lot of available outdoor seating and asking to be seated there, we were told no because the entire outside patio was reserved.  So we sat by the windows inside and observed the few people sitting at tables by themselves.  THEY WERE CONDUCTING PHONE POLLS FOR OBAMA!!!!!  Noticed the Obama pins they were wearing.  They were talking on cell phones and filling out forms.  And they were only drinking water.  When I asked the server WTF was going on (in a kinder, gentler way), she confirmed our observations.  She also added they are a regular group who usually sits in the back room, but that room was taken.  Isn't this place supposed to be Police and Fire Friendly????
Review Source:I'm really glad there is a place like this in my area because my part of the neighborhood is very boring. I moved around here in October and saw there was something new and cool opening up so about 2 months ago I checked it out and I wasn't disappointed one bit. They had a burger special all burgers 5 bucks so I had their famous mo burger. It was one of the best burgers I ever had. So for 19 bucks I had the burger and two beers. My aunt had their chicken caesar salad and a beer and they gave us like 3 complementary house made orders of potato chips. Great overall service.
Review Source:Took my parents and kids here. Â The atmosphere is fantastic. Â The place is a tribute to CPD and CFD and the inside is a tribute to them. Â Â The wait staff is also very friendly. Â The food however is just ok. Â It took a while for us to get our order and when it arrived I was a little underwhelmed. I guess that's because the atmosphere inside the place gave me high expectations. Â I will be back though. Â Great place to grab a beer and appetizer. Â It's still pretty new so I'm hoping the food will get better once they get in their groove.
Review Source:I have visited this establishment twice now and have been very satisfied. Great atmosphere and great servers to add to the great food and drink. Priced very reasonable. We enjoyed there burgers, appetizers (Beer Nuggets very yummy). Family oriented, and a great outdoor area. Great for sporting events and private parties. Stop over anytime and feel the vibe.
Review Source:Stopped in tonight with the family for our second visit. Â First off my husband is creeped out by germs, so he was disgusted to get a jar of mustard instead of a squirt bottle (he once found some nasty stuff in a mustard bottle at a restaurant that came from someone's dirty knife being dipped into it), so he asked the waitress if they had any squirt bottles instead of the jar. Â Her response was no, but we later noticed squirt bottles at other people's tables and eventually snagged one from the bar area. Â I know, not a huge deal, but she could have at least tried to help us instead of just guessing or not trying.
Then comes dessert... We ordered the "Oatmeal Bourbon Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich". Â We had our young son with us, so she brought us three spoons, one for each of us to share the dessert. Â My son took the first bite and winced and said it was yucky. Â Turns out the thing was doused in bourbon! Â It was literally sitting in a pool of pure bourbon!! Â No way would I have thought the waitress would have served pure bourbon to a child until I asked her about it and she confirmed it was soaked in pure bourbon!! Â She didn't seem to acknowledge anything was wrong with this either. Â I have a feeling we won't be back for a long time. Â So sad too because we live within walking distance and the chips are really good...
I don't drink and I'm not a bar person, but this place was pretty decent. Â I went there for a friend's birthday this weekend and was impressed with the decor... everything is dedicated to police and firefighters. So obviously the place was packed with cops and firemen! Â Even the waitstaff and bartenders wear shirts that look like CPD uniforms.
Food was good... The fish and chips was outstanding... fish was perfectly cooked and the fries had some sort of parmesan coating. Delicious homemade coleslaw too. Now it was nowhere near being REAL Irish fish & chips, but it was still really good. Â Nachos on the other hand were icky. Â Almost no toppings, some sort of bruschetta like crap plopped on top, and most of it was just plain chips with nothing on them. Â I was disappointed. Â My friend had a burger and said it was good. Â Food was a little pricey for the amount you receive. Â For a burger, fish, nachos, and 2 cokes it was almost $40. Â
I can't comment on drink prices since I don't drink. Â I know my friends racked up quite the bar bill though...
Also it was SO LOUD Â you couldn't even hear the music playing.
Stopped in here on a gorgeous March night where the night weather was in the 70's. It was nice because they had all the doors open an there was a nice breeze coming through.
Overall, food was okay. I had a steak sammy which was quite stringy. My husband had fish and chips which he said was perfect. Typically we wouldn't really come here for the food! haha
But really, we'll swing back here for sure during the summer... just a laid back, chill place to hang.
Spent St. Patty's Day at Mo Dailey's and had a great time! Â There is a very large patio with several TVs facing outside so you can watch a game. Â There is definitely no shortage of TVs. Â
Had the Mo Burger and it was delicious. Â My whole group also ate and everyone was happy with their food. Â The food and beer was also very reasonable.
It is also very conveniently located next to a Metra stop, so easy access from anywhere in the city. Â Will be back very soon!
A beautiful day for a motorcycle ride. We thought we'd venture out to Mo's for burgers and beer. Much to our surprise they had a $5 breakfast buffet. The food was very good. The staff friendly, especially Zorona. I wish we lived closer, as I could see it being somewhere that we would frequent. Â
The parking isn't the greatest. They definitely need an opening at the other end of the parking lot. They may have to give up a parking spot or 2. But well worth it to avoid the inconvenience for the customer.
Sat at door for 5 minutes while staff walked past us multiple times. It's a very narrow bar with two sides. While this might work for a bar, it does not for a restaurant. It appeared like both sides each had a party going on leaving no room for anyone else. Chaos is the word I would describe it. I know this place is new but there is no excuse for staff who ignore customers standing by the door for over 5 minutes. No room in the narrow parking lot... You have to back all the way out if you can't find a spot. I'm trying not to nit pick but after all the rave reviews I was totally unimpressed.
Review Source:I ordered the Mo Burger. It had very good flavor and was cooked just right. The meat was juicy and full of flavor. The toppings were fresh and there were just the right amount. Yum!
The french fries were OK. They could have been cooked a little more, they were cooked through, but weren't brown on the outside. I may try the chips next time.
The price was a little steep. This alone could hold me back from returning.
The people were nice and they have a vast selection of drinks. There are plenty of TVs around the place.
Would I return, Maybe...
I work in a building nearby and we've been here three times for lunch since it opened.
On the positive side, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and is beautifully done. The woodwork is gorgeous. There's a lot of attention to detail. The owners did a great job honoring Police & Fire. It will be a fun place to come for March Madness with all the TVs and the great drink prices. The restaurant attracts all types of people.
On the negative side, it seems like the chef/kitchen has been having a little trouble and the menu is hit & miss. Each time, we've had to send food back for being incorrect, undercooked or served cold. We're hoping they're just on a learning curve and things will improve over time.
The flatbread pizza was nothing special. The bangers & mash didn't look great. Portion sizes for both were very small. I enjoyed a house/side salad, but my soup-of-the-day was served cold and I had to ask for it to be re-heated.
Out of everything we've tried so far, the burgers are hands-down the best bet, tasty and large, but make sure they cook it to your specification. Mine came out rare when I asked for medium. I like both the chips and fries.
This place was talked about in the neighborhood for a long time so I went to check it out the second day it was opened. I was very pleased with the establishment as a whole. Had the buffalo wings and wisconsin cheese curds while my girlfriend had a burger and fries. Everything was very good, I usually don't like fries as they all seem the same but the fries here were very good. The crowd was mixed with all ages of people and it made the atmosphere very comfortable. The place is big enough to dine and chat on a date or party with friends. I will definitely be going back there again soon.
Review Source:I stopped in on Friday, their second day open. Â It was great, packed with lots of people, but not too crowded. Â There is a free parking lot outside. Â I had a seat at the bar and Crystal took great care of me. Â The decor is a mix of an old barn + an Irish pub + a firehouse. Â I had the corned beef sandwich which was a big pile of meat on bread. Â Exactly what it should be. Â I recommend it. Â Drafts were $2.50, great price for a weekend. Â They have Guinness on tap too. Â
I had so much fun Friday I came back on Saturday. Â At 7:00 I got the last bar seat and tried the steak sandwich. Â Too much bread and not enough steak. Â You should get the chips instead of the fries. Â
This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I'll be back often.
Place is great. Â What an amazing tribute to CPD and CFD. Â Staff was friendly and helpful. Â had a work lunch, so no alcohol for me, but they brought so much soda, I thought I would float away (this is a good thing). Â We all had burgers with fries and chips. Â So good. Â Big burgers, perfectly cooked. Â
Also, not a bad seat in the house for watching the TVs. Â The one behind the bar is one of the biggest I've ever seen.
Music was great (until someone chose a crappy song on the jukebox). Â
This place should do great. Â If you havent been there, get there and try it. Â and check out all the cool CPD/CFD stuff.
Came in for opening night and could not have been more impressed. The atmosphere was just amazing-- awesome and truly unique decor. Sports lovers will definitely appreciate this place-- tons of televisions! The food was unbelievable-- we shared the Big Ben Burger and Margherita Flatbread Pizza. The Big Ben was the star and the pub chips that accompanied it were also a tasty surprise. This restaurant is not exactly close to home for us, but we don't care-- we can't wait to go back!
