Brandy's is a Greek-at-heart fast food place with a huge menu (almost overwhelming, really) of food items: gyros, souvlaki, hamburgers, pizza, hot dogs, Italian beef, steak sandwiches, pasta, salads, a whole Mexican sub-menu, pork chops, fish, ribs, breakfast items and on and on. Â I stood there like a deer in the headlights while staring up at the dozens of menu board signs hanging up near the ceiling. Â I mean, there's 32 meal combos listed, alone.
Brandy's is part of a small local chain: Brandy's in Des Plaines & Chiggy's in Hanover Park making up the rest of the group. Â It appears they all have the same menu.
I went in at lunchtime on a Saturday.  The place was packed, with many families and kids, most seeming to be having a good time.  And yeah, the place was LOUD.  You order at the register near the door, than wait for your meal at the pick up window down near the soda pop machines.  My order came up within minutes  Seating, though not a huge amount, seemed adequate, with standard 4-top booths along the wall and some high-top tables in the middle of the room.  There's outdoor tables for nice weather, along the reasonably large parking lot.
I had a very nice lunch combo for $7.99 (plus tax, no tip necessary): a large overstuffed gyros in pita with onions, tomatoes & tzatziki sauce, along with a large order of standard fries and a fill-your-own cup of soda (I chose Minute Maid lemonade, though most Coca-Cola products were on the spigots).
With so much coming and going, the doors were constantly opening and I found the place a little drafty (this being late January). Â The restroom was very clean and functional.
Overall, Brandy's is a nice place to go for cheap fast tasty food. Â And there really isn't anything like it for a mile in any direction, on this largely residential stretch of Harlem Avenue.
