J's Sports Lounge

Was absolutely disgusted when I heard last week of an elderly gentleman from the neighborhood who was asked to leave the premises because we wasn't up to "dress code", really??? Really disgraceful, and a Veteran on top of it all, shame on you J's, not cool!!

I had a lot of fun at this bar, although it seemed like a lot of Euro kids which is weird, but whatever. I did not like the bartenders at all and that is a reason I will most likely never go back. Or if I do go back I will not spend any money there. I ordered 2 drinks for my friend and I. When the girl made them the glasses were only half full so I asked her why she is charging me for 2 drinks when she didn't even fill the glasses up all the way. She said that I ordered 2 shots, which I absolutely did not. Then this other male bartender said that if you add ice to it then it's a drink and then proceeded to pour a bunch of ice in my glass. I couldn't even believe it. I shouldn't have even tipped them but I did because I'm a nice person.

My friends and I head to Edison Park on weekdays or if we want to stay "local" and don't feel like driving into the city. We usually head to Snuggery, but have been to J's a few times as well. I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with my last experience here. When I came here martinis were a $5 special. So I ordered one. The bartender brings it back to me and I hand him $5 + $1 tip, not realizing it was after midnight. He gives me a weird look and says "its $7..its after midnight". Now, maybe this could have been my fault for not paying attention to the time, but considering it was around 12:10/12:15 it would have been nice for him to remind me BEFORE ordering the drink. It's $2, no big deal, but still it caught me off guard. Other than that, I do like the music and the atmosphere here, which is why I am most likely to return eventually.
