Review Source:Decided to stop in here for a quick bite and cocktail last night. Â It was our first time there. Â The host was very friendly and greeted us right when we walked in the door. Â We sat at the bar and the bartender was great. Â My girlfriend and I just wanted to talk and he let us be but was there when we needed him. Â He made a great dirty martini also. Â The crowd grew as we were there and the place was full before we left. Â Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Â The grilled calamari and the ribs were excellent! Â I am glad we happened by there and decided to try it as we were really pleased with the entire experience!
Review Source:Funny how the best things happen / are found by accident. Â I was driving into the city (Chicago) from the airport (O'Hare) on Wednesday evening about 7 PM. I know that I stated that I was driving but considering the bumper to bumper traffic, walking would have been quicker.
On my flight into Chicago, my thoughts were to order room service but given the 3 miles I have covered in the last 45 minutes.......Later for this.....I may as well pull off the highway and have dinner somewhere.
I love the GPS on my smartphone. I honestly don't know how many of us (especially the road warriors) have made it all these years without this wonderful convenience..........anyways....... I requested steak restaurants. The two nearest were Outback and Elliott's. Â I do not have a problem with franchised restaurants, but it is always nice to experience a locally owned establishment.
Elliott's is really an "old school" steakhouse.......exposed brick, comfortable seating, subdued lighting, fireplace. Mind you, this was a Wednesday....there were few empty tables and the bar was packed.
I was not very pleased with my "dirty martini" but my steak sure made up for that.
I had the Ribeye. This sucka was over three inches thick but it was perfectly cooked to a medium as requested. I also ordered the blue cheese crust on the steak. This was a 22 oz steak. When it arrived at my table, I planned to eat at least half and take the rest with me. I wanted to but could not stop eating this steak......nuff said
