I had the Wintergreen Salad and the Prosciutto Pizza (gluten-free option). Â The salad was very good. Â The pizza was the best pizza I've had in my life, gluten-free or otherwise.
The staff were super friendly. Â The restaurant and restrooms were clean and brightly lit. Â The nutrition information printed out on my reciept.
I am in charge of scheduling meetings at my job, and I'm scheduling them here from now on.
I have to write another update, these guys nailed it with the homestyle plates. Perfect portions at the right price.
The smashed potatoes are very flavorful and the right texture. The chicken and steak (I've tried both) are moist, tender, and juicy with plenty of flavor. Add a drink and Yelp discount and it comes to just over $10 and you leave full, with a nutritious meal and no grease left on your plate.
It's also the little things they do here that make a big difference - real ceramic plates, real glasses (chilled!), silverware (no plastic), friendly staff that seem to really enjoy working there.
Room for improvement - add at least one more vegetable/soup/dessert option for the homestyle plates. Â If you had a monthly plan where you can pre-pay for x number of lunch or dinner meals, almost like a cafeteria, I would visit more often. Â And you need to open a location Downtown (Ballpark/Rino/Upper Larimer area is booming right now)
This place has been packed every time I've been in the little shopping strip. Â I decided to finally bite the bullet and wait the line-out.
I enjoyed this place, the food tasted fresh and healthy. Â Downside is that, as usual this is one of those "check me out, i'm at whole foods" type places where it's overpriced. Â I guess if you're an affluent person who doesn't mind paying an extra $2 for something that you could find in plenty of other places, then this is your spot.
My husband and I stopped in last night for a quick bite. Â The staff was all very friendly. Â We split everything: gorgonzola steak sandwich, a salad with goat cheese, walnuts, green apples and roasted potatoes tossed in a vinagrette dressing and pizza. Â The salad and sandwich were delicious and I would definitely go back for either of these items. Â We were excited about the pizza because of their wood burning pizza oven, but it was not very good - even after they put it back in to try to crisp it up. Â Wine and beer for reasonable prices were offered and I would go back to try out their rotating menu.
Review Source:I am not much of a salad guy, but I was impressed with this place. Â I checked out the menu online before heading over and was struck by how fresh everything looked. Â Now I know those photos are usually taken by food pros that can make a Carl's Jr burger look gourmet, but food looked just as good in person.
I ended up with a chipotle steak sandwich but my colleagues got the salads and they looked amazing. Â My sandwich was tasty, could have been a bit bigger but very good. Â The Farmer salad looked pretty good and that will be my pick for next time.
Place is crazy busy at lunch time and despite a good sized space, seating seems limited. Â Better in the summer as they have a patio. Â Felt like people were hovering waiting for us to leave, and that kind of freaks me out.
Overall, very happy with the visit.
I did not have a great experience the first time I tried Modmarket, for the reasons my previous review explains. Â The owner contacted me and offered to comp my next meal to make up for my unsatisfactory experience. Â I greatly appreciated his gesture, but I did not take him up on it for the obvious reason: how would I know if they REALLY addressed the problems that I had mentioned, or if they simply took special care on the free order and then slacked off from there on out? Â Paranoid, perhaps... but I take my Yelp review very seriously and I want them to be as accurate as possible. Â I'm always annoyed when Yelp reviews lead me to expect a 4-5 star experience and I end up with a 1-2 star experience instead.
In any case, I have been back to Modmarket several times since my initial review and I am very happy to say all of my complaints have been addressed. Â On each subsequent occasion, an employee bused the entire eating area every 10 minutes. Also, my food was very good and correctly prepared. Â I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for freshly prepared, healthy food
Here in Denver on vacation and looking for something "lighter" the day after Thanksgiving.... WHAT A FIND! Â first of all, they post Nutrition info on the menu (at the counter where you place your order), a nice feature from my perspective.
"Wood Fired" Pizza - whole wheat or gluten free available. Â You can order a half order of anything.
Soup - Butternut Squash for wife (excellent) and tomato for me (also excellent); Â share the goat cheese pizza... yum! Â loved it!! Â shared a Thai Salad with turkey breast; I am NOT a salad guy, but this was outstanding!
I wish they would franchise this place (3 in Co. and they said 3 more coming); I'd love to see this place in Saratoga NY (I'm going to tell my restauranteur friend about this place... and hope he can get a franchise)
BTW, the staff in here couldn't be nicer or more helpful, so much so that I went back to drop another $5 tip in the tip bowl.
also, their soda fountain is "not your usual". Â this place is about FRESH and Natural, even the soda.
Fast, fresh and satisfying!! This is what I like to eat. For about the price of going to Panera, which no longer tastes that fresh to me, you can have a real meal. First trip for dinner, we ordered 2 pizzas with side salads. Fantastic and light! Â Crust is great and we tend to be picky pizza eaters. Dressings are all homemade and the ingredients taste like they're from our garden. For our second visit we had lunch and got salads and soup. Again, delicious and satisfying. Love the tomato basil soup. The line was a few people deep but the staff is prompt and keep people moving through in a laid back way. Plenty of seating and you can do pick 2 combos like 1/2 pizza, 1/2 salad or 1/2 sandwich combos. You can't beat this place. We will be back at least once a week!
Review Source:This place is terrific! Â This new food business knows how to do it right! Â They treat their customers very friendly all while preparing fantastic food. Â Keep an eye out for coupons for this place in your mailbox too. Â I feel the food is a little overpriced, but that is likely due to the great, fresh quality of the food. Â I really hope they expand into more locations because I think they have some serious potential with their ability to market and treat customers so well.
Review Source:Mmmm.... Modmarket makes farm fresh salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and soup in a fast, casual environment. What's not to like about that?
I've had a variety of items from here and always enjoyed them. Things like the Fall Cobb Salad (bacon, avocado, gorgonzola, roasted squash, spicy pecans, romaine, buttermilk ranch) or the BLT +A Sandwich (bacon, arugula, tomato, avocado and basil aoili on sourdough). But, the food is fairly seasonal so you never know what might end up on the menu.
You can easily eat in here as there are lots of seats and a patio. Or you can take it to go (order ahead online if you'd like to take it to go really fast.) The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Yep, I'm a fan!
I just found Modmarket and love it! I ordered one of the pizzas and it was great. So good that I went back the next day and tried one of the salads, I think it was called the Flatiron, couldn't believe it had strips of steak grilled perfectly. Â Next time I'm getting the steak sandwich.
Keep up he good work!
I'm a new Modmarket customer and in utter fascination with the healthiness and freshness of their food. Â
The menu is just big enough to have something for everyone, not too big to where it takes 30 minutes to decided on something. Â Sandwiches, salads, pizza, and soup. Â The ability to easily spend less than $15 for a substantial and filling portion of food that satisfies a craving.
On my first visit I decided to do a half salad and half sandwich. Â I ordered the Sweetcorn Sandwich with chicken, chipotle sweet corn, pickled onion, tomato, and arugala on sourdough. Â This was a perfect size half of a sandwich and every ingrediant could sing within the sandwich bringing it's own flavor and all working together in harmony. Â I also got the Fiesta chicken salad, we've all had one of these before. Â I ordered a half, and I'd hate to see a full size one, a half a salad here is pretty darn big. Â I'm pretty sure there was a whole avocado in my salad, really loving that.
The food is fresh, delicious, healthy, and fast. Â Nutritional information available on the menu and on your receipt so you know what you're eating.
Modmarket found a new fan in me. Let me see, when can I return? Â Hmmm....
Finally, tried Modmarket. Â I had a coupon, buy one, get one free pizza or sandwich. Â I've been holding on to it to use with another person but decided to stop by on my way to run errands and use the coupon since it was about to expire. Â
I thought I would try the pizza as it holds up well for later. Â So, I got the M'rita and Goat pizza. Â I had a slice of each in the restaurant as I got a glass of $2.00 wine (yep, no HH special, just $2), while I waited for my pizzas. Â They were both very tasty, although the Goat was my favorite. Â Just personal preference, as I love goat cheese. Â
I love the concept of the restaurant and it's a great value for the money, even without a coupon. Â So, I got 2 - 12" pizzas and a glass of wine for $11 (including tax). Â That is several quality meals. Â You couldn't make it at home that cheap. Â And it's real food not some processed franken-food from a fast food restaurant. Â
Can't wait to go back, and I'll be back (said in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice), to try other menu items!
I could rave about this place forever, so I will make a list of my faves:
1. The food - SUPER fresh and delish! The thai coconut salad is fantatstic- on of the best salads my mother has ever had (she has her own garden and tends to be snobbish).
2. The prices - for 2 for lunch it was $20.
3. The portions - half sizes are plenty
4. The nutrition facts are printed on the receipt!!!
4. The ambiance - inside is modern and clean. The outside has patio, which could use a little warmth, but at least it is clean and there are umbrellas for the tables!
My only complaint - that there isn't one closer!!!
Decided to try something new on a whim and yelp led me to a great place. Â This is a neat little place with lots of space/tables to sit and relax. Â They serve salads, sandwiches, pizzas and cool organic sodas/drinks. Â The service people are quick, nice and super helpful. Â Best of all, 10% off if you check in, and they said with each receipt, you can use it to get another 10% off on your next purchase as well!
I tried the basil chicken sandwich. Â It was pretty delicious--the chicken was super moist with nice flavor and the arugula complemented it perfectly! Â I definitely want to go back and try the pizzas, which look delicious as well.
This was my third visit to Mod Market. Their decor lives up to the name with LCD screens and a modern and open decor. The service is friendly and helpful.
I tried one of their salads for the first time, the Thai Coconut salad and it was awesome. I got the regular size and it was falling off the plate huge. Â At first I thought I would not finish it, but the subtle unique flavor of coconut, sweet potatoes and mango peanut dressing kept me wanting more. Â I definitely could have gotten a box and taken half home and it would have been plenty. Â I will definitely try this salad again as well as their other salads.
If you feel stuck in the Panera rut (and I really like Panera's salads) give Modmarket a try.
Tried this place for the first time today after passing it countless times on my way to Pinkberry (I have an addiction). Went with my 6 year old and my 9 wk old. The 6 year old got the kids' pepe pizza and devoured it. I ordered the Farmer's salad and thoroughly enjoyed the two bites I got to take before the baby woke up and insisted I stand and rock him.
There were lots of things that stood out about this place; great food, $2 glasses of wine (of which I will partake when I go back for a meal with adults. God, I miss adults...), and they print the nutritional info of your meal on the receipt! Mind: blown. BUT what stood out the most to this mildly overwhelmed mama was how helpful the staff was. One of the young men there saw me carrying both my baby and our tray and quickly stepped in to get the tray and take it to our table. He checked on us a few times, yukked it up with my 6 year old and was just downright nice. I appreciated that a lot. I don't go out too much now that I have a fussy newborn to attend to, but my experience here was great. And yes, I went to Pinkberry after.
Will definitely be making this a regular dining spot.
Modmarket is the organic local fast casual spot you would expect from Boulder but located right in the middle of Colorado Blvd. Great food, super consistent. Way better salads than Mad Greens and much healthier. Westword just did a writeup on their SuperFood Salad. Good amount of seating but they also do takeout.
Something you should know:
-They serve natural sodas which means yay gingerale and no diet coke, this made my mother very disgruntled.
If you don't mind fighting the crowds on Colorado it's a great lunch spot.
Two things we HAVE to start of with:
$2 glasses of wine.
Everything can be made into a half order.
Sold.
The pizzas here are uh-mazing. Â Like for real. Â The options are great, Â they have homemade pesto, it's all cooked up nice and crispy in a fire stove. Â I just recently tried the goat cheese pizza and if you at all are interested in pesto, theirs is the besto. ("Friends" reference anyone??)
The other great thing is that they list the nutritional value under the menu items so you know exactly how many calories you have to plan to work off tomorrow.
There are a lot of fast casual places that claim to be healthy, but once I look at the nutritional information, I'm left thinking, "how so?" I think it would be more appropriate to call these places "healthy style" you know, like "Kosher Style"? It looks Kosher, but it really isn't?
This isn't the case with Modmarket. While I wouldn't say the pizza is healthy, their salads and sandwiches certainly are, and they proudly display the nutritional information on both the menu and your receipt. Everything about this place says fresh, while I was waiting for my sandwich, one of the employees was pulling roasted chicken breasts out of the oven, and  they bake their own bread.
I went to Modmarket for dinner for the first time last week and got the Eggplant Goat Cheese Sandwich to go. While I'm not a fan of goat cheese, I am a fan of everything else on the sandwich so I decided to give it try. It blended nicely with the veggies and balsamic dressing. Plus, the homemade Ciabatta bread was delicious and didn't overwhelm the sandwich fillings. Next time I'd like to try one of their salads.
Perhaps my only grumble about Modmarket is their locations, none are really that convenient for me. I hope they open more soon. The US, not just Colorado, needs more places like this.
Headline: Â farm fresh, meet delicious
We came to Modmarket because it was close, and we were glad we did. Â The urban interior gives this place character, but the food really shines. Â Options like half portions and gluten free are much appreciated.
I ordered the Chimi Chicken sandwich and cup of tomato basil soup as a combo. The sandwich was spicy; the soup was nicely chunky and everything was flavorful. Boo on the pickle spear though - something a little different would have been nicer.
My wife had half of a Pepe pizza - the pepperoni was among the best she had tasted. Â The side salad with balsamic vinaigrette was a nice salad, but the vinaigrette was of a high standard. Â The salad was only "greens" - some other components (tomato or sprouts or something else) would have been appreciated.
Sodas - a fountain machine with Boylans was much appreciated. I love the creme soda.
Definitely a keeper
Yummy! I love this place. Their food is great, although I wish their sandwiches came with some sort of side. I love that they print the nutrition information on the receipt, but do keep in mind that not ALL of the food here is low-cal. They just tell you the damage!
It is easy to put together a tasty, sensible meal here if you know what to look for, and I love them for that.
Wow what a neato place, albiet hipster-city!
The food is made before ur eyes, but not a in a cheap "subway" sorta style. The ingredients are super fresh and delish! I got the thai coconut salad. That was a killer taste sensation! We also got some pizzas, good, Â but not great. Mu hubby got a chicken sammich. Loved it! And their "fountain sodas".... yeah no coke or pepsi products here! They haz fancy sodey-pop on tap!
The best part is how low the food was in weight watchers points! Score!
This place - go here NOW.
The food is so delicious and fresh and the menu changes frequently. I am loving the steak sandwich and salad right now - so tasty! I haven't had the pizza yet but plan to do that soon! And sandwich or pizza, either can be made gluten free.
If you're feeling really hungry, order the combo - it's a small salad of field greens with a light balsamic dressing + a bag of pop chips. It's only $1.50 more and totally worth it.
Modmarket also offers $2 glasses of wine - ALL the time! Not just for happy hour!
Another cool thing Modmarket does is to list all calories/nutrition on the menu (which are like, Apple computer monitors) and also on your payment receipt.
Service is quick; decor is fresh and modern, as well. Â
(If you go to the Glendale Raptor's rugby game, your ticket has a Buy One Get One coupon on back!)
My mom was in town and she found Modmarket on Yelp. I can't believe it took my mom to bring me to this ultra-hip, upscale version of Panera.
We decided to split a half salad and a sandwich. When the Mongolian salad arrived, Mom asked them if it was a half size because it was so big! I loved the slightly spicy dressing and the flavorful tofu (yeah, it can happen!)
The interior was so modern and eye-catching that I need to take my husband back just to see it. Loved it!
My. Goodness. Unheralded, without fanfare, devoid of glitz, glamour, pomp and circumstance; Mod Market will knock your socks off. Both of them. Cleanly. And you will love every second of it.
I'd driven by ModMarket probably two dozen times, thinking about stopping in every once in a while but never doing so. Finally on a night when I just didn't feel like cooking but knew I wanted something healthy for dinner -- it clicked. Why not finally try ModMarket?
I went in, loved the atmosphere and quick friendly service. I ordered the Chipotle Steak Sandwich combo, with a cup of green chicken chili. All was glorious.
The sandwich takes a couple minutes because it's fresh. Fresh and amazing. Tender pieces of steak, great chipotle mayo, fresh greens, awesome bread...So great. Also loved the bed of fresh greens with the sandwich, and some sort of balsamic dressing that I'm not positive isn't made of fresh angels.
Good prices, healthy natural food and a great atmosphere. I was very impressed, loved the food, and am incredibly eager to try more.
Had lunch here a few weeks back with one of my really good friends and we both wanted to try something different, so we decided on Modmarket. At first waking into the door, there was an immediate smell of freshness that I cant say that I've ever had before upon entering any eatery. Or at least not one of this kind. Of course the place was crowded, every table was taken except maybe 2. Luckily there was no one ahead of us in line, so getting a table wasnt going to be a problem.
I ordered the green chicken chili and a basil chicken sandwich. (Apparently I was in the mood for chicken, go figure). And she ordered the Farmer salad. Needless to say our meals were excellent. I was quite impressed as I really wasnt sure what to expect, trying a new place. All I ever knew of Modmarket before is that this place was always packed.
Fresh food, good food and the service was good as well. Definitely a place that I will be coming back to. Thanks Modmarket for showing us a really yummy time! I wonder what I will have the next time I'm there? Maybe something off the breakfast menu!
THEY SERVE BOYLAN'S SODA, FOUNTAIN-STYLE!!! I don't mean to yell, it's just that in all my years living in NJ, I never saw this NJ created/located company's beverage served in anything but its customary bottle. I shared my amazement with the owner (I think), he told me how hard it was to get Boylan's to ship the fountain from the East Coast. Modmarket gets 5 stars just for pulling that off. Oh,if you are wondering, the Orange & Root Beer are my 2 faves in the fountain, but the Black Cherry is my fave in the bottle.
The food was mixed bag - the Farmer salad was OK (a little salty, but not sure why/how), but the Cashew Butternut Squash soup was quite tasty, and on the thicker side, which I liked! My friends seemed to really like their pizza. All in all, there is a better likelihood of returning for the soda than for the food...
