I heard great things about this place from a co-worker of mine who lived in Honolulu years ago. Therefore, my last day in Hawaii, I thought I should give this place a shot.  I don't believe my co-worker has low standards, thus, this place must of gone down hill. I ordered something simple, chicken Caesar salad, and what I received was raw chicken. I told my waiter right away, and she came back 20 minutes later (!) offering to buy us a round a drinks. We took them. We received them another 20 minutes later with a bill. Turns out they expected me to pay for the raw chicken, I didn't eat.

Sadly enough the worst part wasn't the raw chicken. It was the service. There was only one other party of 3 while we there, and I still had to get up and serve myself water. Perhaps they need to hire more people or better train their waiter to be able to serve two tables at once.

However on the plus side, the Hawaiian Punch was excellent!

I come to Moose's for their chili cheese fries and chili cheeseburgers all washed down with beer. I eat it sober so it's not my drunken munchies giving this review. Haven't tried anything else because I don't feel the need. I always get the same server in the afternoons, Moe. I rate them so highly because they provide exceptional customer service quality (drinks always filled and any needs met), great food quality (tastes great and I never get sick, so that's a good sign), quality atmosphere (friendly staff and plenty of tvs to keep me occupied), but above all they create a memorable service which leads me to frequent there when I'm in the area. There is no pressure to finish my food, I've hung out there for hours and was never bothered to move. Service is excellent from the time I walk in is exactly how I am treated from the time I leave.

This was quite a disappointment. We were in the mood for some good bar food, and this place had a good rating. Unfortunately the food is lacking.

We ordered the Combo Pupu Platter. It comes with potato skins, spicy moose wings, nachos and onion rings.  Each item was lacking flavor and freshness. We added pork to our nachos but that failed to improve them. The chips had good flavor but seemed stale. There was not enough cheese or pork. I have had better pork out of a packaged container at the grocery store. The wings were OK, but certainly could use some help in the flavor department.

Our server was friendly and genuinely nice. It appears to have a fun environment if you are looking to do some drinking. I would just not waste your time eating here.

    "OMG, like SERIOUSLY?!?!"

Those are the words I uttered last night, along with my sidekicks, several times. This place sucked beyond belief!! Words cannot describe how long it took for us to get our drinks but the closest I can come to is indeterminable. To begin our little stop at this hip-hop club, we of course stopped at the bar and were met with a total vacancy (apparently every bartender was on the -other- side, leaving the half of the bar I found myself on utterly abandoned. So because the guys I was with were desperate for more alcohol, we waited, and waited, and waited. It got to the point that we genuinely considered leaving because, clearly, we weren't going to be served drinks anytime soon, and I even threatened to jump over the counter and make some drinks for the deserted night owls like myself. (I didn't but trust me, it was tempting.)
Finally, after daring to join the dance floor a couple of times to giggle as I boogied terribly (to be quite honest the music was uninspiring and more suited for gangsters attempting to show their cred; girls like myself struggled to sexy dance with the tunes that sounded the same beat one after another), one of my friends managed to get three of the House's drink special and handed them over. The house drink of the night was some kind of vodka, brown sugary syrup, and soda water. It was, wait for it, DISGUSTING. One of my friends dropped his drink almost instantly, letting it shatter on the floor. In most clubs that I've gone to, most much more packed than Moose's, that drink would be cleaned up quickly and the glass gathered to keep people from getting cut. None of that occurred, in fact, security ambled by uninterested. And on my way to the Ladies room, I discovered another pile of glass and liquor. Once my friends downed that one drink, we all bolted; it was time we left in search of the mojo taken by Moose McGillicuddy's.

Lunch, yes lunch and not partying, quite the opposite!

I was a bit sketchy to come to a pub for lunch...maybe they'll have good bar food? Meh. My sisters heard they had good loco mocos, I don't care for that stuff... so I got the fish tacos. Big portions, better than anything I had in SD, but way too much batter on the fish... There wasn't enough flavor on the fish itself, but the sauce in the taco was dripping everywhere, so it was hard to eat and got soggy and fell apart fast. Also my sister wasn't too fond of her loco moco, she said it was too bland... but the food is decent here.

Happy house is great though! We ate lunch and managed to sneak in a couple drinks on the happy hour menu. And happy hour is all day, but different specials.

Oh man, I haven't been here in a minute and nothing has changed. The same crowd every time. Some locals but mostly visitors at night, and lots of military men if thats what your into.

The drinks are decently priced and tend to be fairly strong so your getting your moneys worth. There is almost always a cover for upstairs and there is a semi-enclosed smoking area, but its pretty hot and cramped in there so your better off going downstairs to grab some fresh air while you get your smoke on. Seating is pretty limited, but if you can snag a booth or high top, you should try to keep it all night. The music is usually very good.

If your going there to party make a plan to leave about 30 minutes before last call because its crazy time trying to get down the skinny stair case with everyone leaving the bars. They are open till 4am so if you need somewhere to drink late while out in Waiks this is a good spot. Be safe and take a cab.

Living in Waikiki- Saturday night partying often requires a good Sunday
Morning breakfast. Unfortunately, our tourism market caters to an older demographic, so it's hard to find good, cheap breakfast in Waikiki for a younger, non-tourism audience. I'd say there are just a few limited options- Eggs and Things (which gets too crowded these days and I don't go to much anymore), Lulus (which is my preference, but is a hike from where I live- 11 blocks?!) and Mooses (the cheaper, lower quality, but fulfills its objective option). There are probably other options my friends or others know about, but these were mine.

Menu is a hit/miss. Friend rice is the worst I've had on the island- stay away from that. They do have Mexican breakfast options however that aren't so bad. Omelets are standard, diner style- greasy, meaty and may do the trick for a hangover cure.

My selling point- Hangover mornings require either a Bloody Mary or coffee. Bloody Mary's here suck. Coffee is amazing. If I don't need/want a Bloody Mary, Mooses becomes a good, cheap option for me.

This is my fav  spot for happy hour!!  great music,  great atmosphere, friendly staff and cheap drinks!  If you haven't been to Moose's and or first time on the islands, I highly recommend this place to hangout.  They're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  This place always have a good crowd but never get too crowded to order drinks or to dance.  There's usually a line outside but it's worth the wait.  One of my recommended place in Waikiki.  Their food is good too!

Back in 2003 when I came here the food was awesome. It is very much so lacking now but hey its bar food. The dancing is great and the staff is super nice.  There are more than enough bouncers so if you're looking for a safe place to hang out here is the place. Oh and there is an amazing hot dog stand outside for when they shut down at night. Double bonus.

Lets see....what was it I had for breakfast??  I remember the blood Mary's and leaving full....I guess it doesn't matter because I left happy and ready to kick off my day!!  Did I mention they had awesome bloody marys??  They were kind of spicy, kind of sweet, completely good.

Came to the Moose for a late night dinner to satisfy a burger craving. While we were a bit bummed out that drink specials were only for upstairs.... we ordered the maui onion rings to start, and the royal canadian burger.

Sadly, the onion rings were severely over battered and lacking seasoning. They came with some super tasty ranch for dipping. While I hate to depend on dipping sauces, these onion rings really needed it.

The burger came medium rare as we requested, and topped with a fried egg, cheese, fresh sliced tomato and yummy crispy bacon while the bottom was adorned with lettuce and thousand island. What a combination. So delicious!

The staff here is super friendly, but service can be a bit slow even if they're not busy. When we were done eating, it was a bit of a challenge to find our waitress.

    Overall a pleasant experience.

    Good Drinks
    Fun Dancing to good music
Good Bartenders with lots of bar space!
Had to wait in line outside for a little while but it was only the time it took to ID and take the cover charge $5.
It definitely helped that I was female when ordering a drink! My buddy was standing there for a while then pushed me and in of him and boom got the drinks  *mini inner goddess happy dance*

First time ever going to Mooses! And boy I definitely have not been missing anything there. I honestly did not like the crowd and I wasn't into the music that the DJ was playing either.  Mooses was full of tourist (which isn't a surprise, cause it is in Waikiki). The dance floor was rather small, but it didn't bother me since I wasn't feeling the place anyway. Please don't get me wrong now; I'm sure many people come here regularly. It just really wasn't my crowd for cup of tea.

However, I did like how they had cheap drinks! Everything was $3 till 11PM! Woot Woot! Definitely a plus in my book when bars/clubs serve cheap drinks :3

    Note: Saturday Night Club Review

LONG LINE!!!  Although I should say I went there at 11 pm.  Expected?  Even though there was a long line, the transition to get into the bar/club was pretty fast and simple. I don't think I waited more than 15 min.

Parking: of course it's in Waikiki so it's going to be hard.  I recommend parking on Ala Wai or a hotel and walking towards it.  We live near Waikiki so we just walked over.

There's a $5 cover charge to go upstairs to get your freak on, but if you're a local and have the I.D. card, its free! I didn't know at the time and ended up paying the cover :womp womp:

The place is super crowded, but if you wanted to get your moves to the dance floor, it's not impossible.  Ladies, the guys are here to PLAY!!! they will surround you.. it almost becomes like an animalistic jungle fever in here.  One girl will be dancing, 10 dudes will surround her, do their little mating dance, and one will become a winner.  The guys are not SHY.. I repeat not shy!

Company makes a difference and I had fun!

Went there last week for a snack and sodas. We got the pulled pork sliders and they were delicious. Went there for dinner a few days later. Got the kahlua pork quesadilla and it wasn't very good. It was extremely salty and I couldn't eat the whole thing. I mentioned how salty it was to the waitress when she brought the bill, she didn't say anything. She could have at least acknowledged what I said. Second and last time I'll go there when I'm in Waikiki.

This is not your Lahaina Moose.  We had breakfast.  The wait staff was horrible, I had to walk to the bar three times to get the items we needed.  No cream was brought to our table for the coffee, we asked three times, They never came over to refresh our coffee, again I walked to the bar for fresh coffee.  The food was only so so.

I stayed very polite to the staff, so I don;t think it was me.  I will never go back here again.

As you can see, most of the reviews are about the happy hour and drinking...because the food is not very good.  Don't come here for the food.  I'd give it five stars for the ambiance, crowd and bar...but only two for the food.

Went for breakfast. Prices are reasonable, service was quick, food was nothing special. The daytime atmosphere was not pleasant, just a dark stale smelling bar. Much better, nicer places for breakfast. I would not return for breakfast again.

We went on a Tuesday night (around 11pm), so dinner was no longer being served.  The line to get in was fairly long, with a mixed crowd of military, tourists, and college-age locals.  We waited almost an hour to get in, paid a $10 cover and were on our way.
There was a sign outside that mentioned drink prices for the night (which were crazy cheap, coming from CA):
    * Shots of Jager, Jack & Coke = $2
    * Long Island Ice Tea, Sex on the Beach = $3

It gets shoulder-to-shoulder crowded and sweaty inside, as there is plenty of dancing upstairs... so maybe pack some paper towels in your pocket or a hanky in case someone sweats on you.

Bartenders are nice... security, not so much.  Definitely a casual place, so don't expect bottle service.

So I went there on a Tuesday. Took a few minutes to get in, $10 cover and $1 $2 $3 drinks all night.
There's a long list of drinks to choose from. Not bad!!
The music was pretty good too, kept us dancing all night.
Place gets prettyyyyy packed, you'll bump into a few drunk jerks on the dance floor but that's expected right?.
Nice restroom attendant, cleans restrooms.always a plus.
I'd definitely go back n shake my booty!

Went for breakfast a few days ago and it was pretty good. There is a BOGO free in the hotel guides that advertise things to do and places to eat.  The coupon makes the meal dirt cheap for Waikiki prices.  Happy hour started around 4:00 and we went a few times with family and we had a good time. The place starts filling up after 5:00. We never went late to see the place get crazy but  for us overall the food was decent, the happy hour drink prices are great and the staff was nice and attentive. Its a good way to start the evening before you head out for dinner or whatever you may have planned.

Moose's is ok. Drinks always seem a little high, or I just don't get there in time for drinks. ALWAYS crowded! It's almost a little ridiculous. Maybe I just need to find a different bar to hang out at.

They have food there?? Huh, weird, didn't know they did have food.

Every time my friends and I come to this place... we have fun. Waitresses were kinda cocky but what do you expect, they have to deal with a bunch of drunk people all through out the night!

Come early to get a booth so you don't end up standing up all night long. You will want a place to put your drink down and to rest your dancing feet.

Drinks are normally under $10.. Long Island Iced tea is about $7 and on Tuesday nights, they have $1 drinks.. We always meet random drunk people, we always have a good time. I always recommend this place to my friends! GOOD TIMES!

The bouncers are looking for a fight. How else can any reasonable person explain viciously assaulting somebody, outside the bar, after closing leaving them with a broken jaw that had to be wired shut?  Furthermore, this scared coward ran down an alley to avoid being arrested. Boycott this establishment until justice is served, and forever. There's a myriad of other bars, that aren't a perpetual sausage fest, in Waikiki to visit

Burger Name and description: "University Burger - highly ranked bacon & intelligent cheddar on a set of coed buns"

Ingredients: Bacon, Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Burmuda Onion, Thousand Island Sauce

    Table Additions: Ketchup

    Served with: Fries

    Price: $10.45

Comments: Sommer our waitress served us a mean burger meal for our first burger in the USA. Very good beef patty and cheese, was let down with the extras unfortunately, but still enjoyed the s*#t out of it. Twas the perfect quick yet not too big meal to accompany our bud lights on Superbowl Sunday while watching the game.

Burger Name and description: "The G.O.B. Burger - Our Fabulous Grilled Onion Burger with Sauteed Mushrooms and Jack Cheese"

    Table Additions: Ketchup

Served with: Garlic Fries & Ranch dipping sauce (extra $1)

Price: $10.45 ($11.45 with chip upgrade)

Comments: This was my GF's order and another good delivery from waitress Sommer. I obviously didn't eat it all as it was her's, but the 2 bites i had were a real f*#kin treat. Again as with my burger, the beef patty and cheese were yum-f*#kin-o, but everything else was just OK, so points had to be deducted, but by no means did it ruin the burger. And I tell you what, the cheesy garlic fries that accompanied it were quite splendid, even if we were smelling like vampire slayers for the rest of the afternoon...

The first time I came to this place was in 1984 and it's still as cool as it was back then!  We bellied up to this place about 3 in the afternoon and hung out for a couple of hours before the 20-somethings bum rushed the doors.

I used to come at night and now I prefer to come in the afternoon but either way I still love this joint...

Come to Moose's for a good time.

    Terrible place!!!
They have dirty THUGS for bouncers! (That's why they don't last very long!)
One manager in particular was a real BITCH!! Her name is COURTNEY. STRAIGHT white trash! . She has a boyish body, yellow straw hair and teeth SO fucked up you'd think the bitch was british!!! You'd recognize her if you go.
They charge people to get in then kick them out 5 mins later saying they are too drunk and they refuse to give a refund simply because they gave you a "discount."
What  they SHOULD do is hire experienced bouncers (Not just any FAT FUCK off the street who's looking for a job) that can turn people away at the door instead of STEALING their money.
Too many GOOD bars in Waikiki to end up in this dump!

Not a bad bar/pub. I was dragged out by a friend who used to live here and she said this was the happening pace... First night we get there, they had a Bikini contest... Then good music and more drinking afterwards... It was nice to people watch :-)

Second night, wasn't bad... although a dispute nearly broke out, someone diffused the situation before it got outta hand (2 military dudes one was being rude to the chicks, the other way trying to put him in check) etc...

Drinks are great, met some great local or people who were there traveling for work, not a bad place for night life... something more upscale would kinda be Rumfire in the Sheraton hotel...This place is casual pub bar, not bad though...

My boyfriend really likes to go to the nightclub upstairs.  I don't.  It's sticky, the crowd is  mostly military meat-heads and mainland frat boys trying to grind anything in a skirt.  The male to female ratio was heavily in the sausage fest zone every time I have gone.

On the plus side, the happy hour is decent and the drinks are strong and the wait staff doesn't ignore you.

If you're a guy, you like dive bars and cheap drinks, this is definitely your place.
If you're a chick and being propositioned on your way to the bathroom offends you, don't come here.

Okay the only time I come here is when there are friends visiting from the mainland. I would never come here on my own or choose to come here. I have been here a couple of times after midnight and my experience was super icky. I guess this would be considered the dive bar of Waikiki. I must say that I am a little biased because I rarely like to go into Waikiki.

Not a fan of the crowd here. Not my style. It can be a little decent during Happy Hour because there are no crowds and cheap drinks. I didn't even realize there was a bottom floor since we always got pushed to the top floor when its busy at night. I must say the service was pretty good though.

Not my cup of tea but I will go there for the friends.

...Quest for the ultimate happy hour continues...

We last left our hero as he was awakening from the previous nights shenanigans.  The rising sun awakens the slumbering man from his blissful dreams..   Alas, it's a new day with a new happy hour to be vanquished!

But who would be so fool hardy as to test our brave protagonist?  There is talk amongst the people in the villages of just such a contender.  A destination of bad decisions, alcohol, and a test of ones mettle.

The stories are all the same...  They all speak of a time entering this match...

Moose's enters as a heavy weight contender offering a variety of drink and food specials from 7p-closing and 4p-10p respectively.  The specials for both change daily.  The website CURRENTLY reflects:

Trust me.  HH here = Cheap drinks and getting slizzard.  It's popular amongst visitors and local barflies.  It's one of the last hole in the walls that feels like your old college bar.

Everyone I know talks about the food here as well.  Personally, I've only had one experience with it and wasn't too impressed.  But, if you're going to have HH drinks, you gotta have HH food....  Here the offer:

MONDAY - You're a wing nut. Free wings with any 2 entrees, burgers or sandwiches
TUESDAY - Tacolicious Tuesdays 2.95 tacos kalua pig, or chicken. 3.95 tacos mahi mahi, calamari, steak, or shrimp. Best tacos west of Acapulco

Overall, the place is great for a cheap drink if you're doing a bar crawl in Waikiki.  Central location and late night hours on deals make it hard to resist.  I work in the area, so it's a convenient spot.  Would I drive into the heart of Waikiki to come here???  Doubt it.

Whenever I go down town,,, I must stop here. Yes, then name is quite hard to pronounce and to try and GPS (after you had a few drinks) but it's a great place to hang out. I cannot say much about their food because I only go there to have drinks but their cocktails are quite awesome! The atmosphere is real relaxed, it's a bit small upstairs but it is still quite fun. They do have a down stairs area that is a bit more relaxed than the upstairs and often have live music. This place is my top choice, I highly recommend!

P.S. There is a cover charge of $5 (at least on the weekend)
and there is an ATM inside (upstairs)

I have made it clear to everyone I know that I do not go to Mooses. Mainly because I don't like the crowd. Most of my friends go here on Tuesday nights when the drinks are cheap. I tend to shy away from joining them even if cheap drinks are always tempting. I did not come to Hawaii to hang out with mainly European people so Tuesday nights are a no-go for this girl.

I have tried going here during the weekends too but I really can't see why people like this place. And I have been in all stages of drunkness here. I've been sober, semi-drunk, very drunk, drunk to the point where I don't remember anything... but I don't like it in any stage.

I always feel like the bouncers have a shady attitude towards me, I never have a bad attitude walking in. I smile when I give my ID and I happily (not really) pay the cover. Yet they have commented on my ID more than once (saying it was fake - idk if it was a compliment saying maybe I look younger?).

Some of my friends have gotten kicked out even though they weren't even drunk (trust me, I can see when my friends are drunk), yet they got thrown out because "they were too drunk". Really? I've seen girls falling on the dance floor, barely being able to stand up and they never get thrown out.

I wish I could say that I like this place because it has potential, but nah, I can think of other places that will satisfy my thirst without paying a cover.
