Morgan's Pier

At first, I was a bit set back by the $5 cover and the 3 whole minutes the bouncer took to scour my ID in every way, shape and form. But I was instantly a fan upon entering. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is pretty decent. What got me, though, was the incredible view of the Ben Franklin bridge! It's an ideal location and I think Morgan's Pier did a great job with utilizing the space and making it dance and group friendly, along with really good music. Lots of people (was there at 11pm) and the bathrooms were pretty clean in comparison to some of the other bars in the area.

Didn't like how wine was served in plastic cups though. C'mon! Drinking from a glass is half the reason why anybody buys wine anyway.

Sorry to say my high hopes of a good time were dashed before I even sat at the bar. My husband & I went on a Saturday afternoon.  It wasn't crowded at all. We HAD planned on apps and drinks.  When we approached the bar, the woman bartender (sorry I don't know her name) ROLLED HER EYES! I was surprised that my husband noted it too.....So he had ONE beer and I was handed my 3oz wine with ??? disgust that we were in this establishment!  What a huge let down.  We left and argued over the fact that my husband left a crappy $1 tip...I would have left 0!  I am a former food and drink server & have NEVER done that before. The day was salvaged shortly after we left and headed down to Cavanaugh's River Deck where they were busy, but very personable! Nice even! All 's well that ends well, just a shame for Morgan's because we spent our money elsewhere & won't ever spend ANY $ there.  Save your efforts & go to Cavanaugh's!!!!

Came with a few friends a few weeks ago. Long line to get in, way too crowded, poor bar service, and over priced drinks. I had to pay a $5 cover and then soco and lime shots were $7!? Will never be coming back here again. Worst bar I've been to in Philly.
