Great fast lunch! I love avocado and I'm into the TAPP sandwich. Sometimes delivery is a little slow but being close to downtown and lunch time rush,  I understand. Price is reasonable too.

Extremely fast delivery, especially for the lunch rush, and best bread in the Denver sandwich area. Fresh daily, it'd so good they have run out before. House made bacon, marinara, soups and chili.

Sandwiches are awesome when they know how to make them.  They messed up my order not once but twice in one visit by first not listening and then not knowing what goes on the sandwich.  I would drive miles for their sandwiches but was too pissed to drive there a third time.  Their C team must be working these days.

BLT. That's all I have to say. So much delicious, thick-cut bacon that you almost get TMJ eating it. And you get a free cookie your first time in. And you get free chips and a fountain drink if you come between 3 and 6. And the staff is so friendly. AND they were playing amazing gypsy swing music! The only thing that would have made it better would have been someone to dance with :)

Calling the Colorado Derby of sandwich races:

". . . And coming around the stretch to the finish line, it's Snarf's in the lead, with Vert Kitchen on BLT and Masterpiece Deli on Cubano running shoulder-to-shoulder. They're one length behind and closing . . . but wait! On the outside, coming up quickly, it's Mr. Lucky riding 7th Avenue, making this a 4 horse contest . . .."

Now you're left to decide who's going to win this one. These places all make seriously great sandwiches.  The 7th Avenue at Mr. Lucky's is like a gourmet banh mi with sliced pork tenderloin, jalapenos, cilantro, and pickled asian onions, all on a delicious baguette slathered with sriracha mayo.

Me? I'm gonna have to replay this one with Mr. Lucky ridin' a different horse "cause I hear he stables one mean BLAT as well as a great "Mad Cow."

So I'll get back to ya on my final selection. In the meantime . . . we all get to enjoy the race.

This is the closest thing I've found to Publix subs out here! If you're from the Southeast, you know that's the biggest recommendation for a sandwich one could give.

    Staff = super friendly.
First time in = free cookie.

    I'll be back!

This place has good sandwiches and GREAT potato salad. However, even though they appear to have a big menu, many of their sandwiches have very similar ingredients. I'm not a big fan of turkey sandwiches, so that immediately eliminates over half of the menu. I think they make good sandwiches, I'm just not into a lot of their combinations. I wish they offered some kind of chicken cutlet sandwich!

Awesome BLAT. I'm dreaming about it now...and I still have 2.5 hours to lunch.

Parking sucks.  Sammich was pretty good, though.  I might go back if the timing is right and I find a space nearby.

once again I have had another great hero at Lucky's.  Their meatball and sausage hero is great and Italian, and BLT too. They have a dining area now so can sit and eat.

I absolutely love this place.  I have been getting the Bird and Bacon for at least 5 years now. lol Always consistent and delicious.  I now  live in Evergreen and every time I come down the hill I bring a few sandwiches back for my friends.  They are sold as well!

I used to live in neighborhood, but thankfully this was my first visit in all of my 5 years. I looked past the fact that their menu doesn't list prices, and
assumed a sub can't be more than $8. My order was rung up $10! Quite a premium for a club served on a dry (yesterday's) bread. Low on sauce, & low on toppings. I ate the first half, then shared the second half with the trash can. Yeah, Rhymes with "Lucky".

Not the greatest sandwich but not the worst. Super friendly guys though. Bread was a little hard for my taste, could've used more condiments, a little dry, but meat and veggies were fresh. I didn't know about the free cookie thing, I was just chatting with the owner and told him I'm new to the state and before I knew it I had a cookie in my hand. If I'm in the area I'll return though since I like to support local small business :)

I must say - this is my second review.  If I had not been here before - I wouldn't go back.  I have been raving about their sandwich ever since I had it 7 months ago.  I work far from there but I begged a guy from work to go and pick them up...  Both sandwiches were completely messed up - even down to forgetting the Italian dressing; when I asked for extra - so I had a thin, dry, plain sandwich and was really disappointed - as was my coworker who drove 30 mins to get it...

I could eat (multiple) sandwiches for every meal, so I'm always on the lookout for the best sub place in Denver.  I thought Snarf's was hands down the winner....until I tried Mr. Lucky's.  Now I know where I'll be going to fulfill my never-ending cravings for a top-notch sandwich.

I can't believe I had never stopped in, after living 6 blocks from this place for several years-  I was really missing out.  I ordered the Italian, and I have to say it gives every other Italian sub in Denver a run for its money.  Stuffed full of several meats, cheese, pepperoncinis, and mayo spread throughout the delicious bread....I'm dreaming of another one right now.

And, like everyone else said, first timers get a (huge) free cookie, which is a nice treat.  Friendlier staff than most places too :)

Where I go when I want a deli sandwich.  Mr. Lucky's will make whatever the hell you want.  You can also choose from their menu of inspired sandwiches, like the 7th Ave (pork loin, marinated onions, sriracha-mayo, jalapeno), the Pizza Sub, or their Mad Cow (a damn fine roast beef sandwich).  As a first-timer, I walked away with two free (and delicious) cookies, and I've been back several times and converted several others in the process.  There's a swanky and spacious seating area to sit down with friends, or you can park on 6th and take your sandwich to go.  Their staff is helpful, cheerful and fast.  Not stingy with their meat and cheese, and their veggies are fresh.

Stopped in here while visiting friends and was very impressed. The owner took our order and apologized that he couldn't give us cookies--standard protocol for first-timers--because he had run out. Instead offered us each a bag of chips.

The sandwiches were delicious, with the key being amazing homemade bread. I had something with turkey/avocado and it hit the spot.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The food is great the hospitality is even better.

    Thanks Mr. Lucky.

Great pastrami; friendly staff; good location.

I had the pastrami sandwich with cheese. It was awesome. I didn't realize there wouldn't be any veg, so I suppose I'll order it WITH veg, next time. But the meat was tender and full of flavor -- and there was a lot of it -- and the bread was superb.

Parking can be a problem, for those who don't live or work in walking distance.

Mr. Lucky's makes THE BEST SANDWICHES I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I always, always, always get the "Bird and Basil". Omg, to die for. It's definitely a busy place but that's expected with the amazing food they make! Everyone is so nice as well! It's funny- they literally know my MIL by name because she orders there so much. When we visit we almost always order delivery! Plus- the prices aren't to shabby either. The parking kind of sucks, but its totally worth parking a block over! Go there asap! you wont be disappointed :]

So I'm usually a big fan of this place but recently they have been really skimping on their meats.  I have been getting the Calirado Club a lot and the last few times I have been in I was given one piece of ham on top of one piece of turkey.  That's the kind of lack of care that I expect from a national chain or a grocery store but certainly not a 9 dollar per sandwich place.

Please change back, Mr. Lucky.  You used to be good.

This place makes a really good sandwich. I had the pleasure of speaking with "Mr. Lucky" and after listening to him it was clear to me that he really likes making sandwiches. It definitely shows when you taste one of his sandwiches.

The meats are really flavorful and apparently the result of a lot of in house preparation. From the roast beef, chipotle mayo, and giardiniera. Each bite was full of flavor.

The only real negative I have to say about Mr. Lucky's has to do with his baker. Why on all of God's green Earth does City Bakery NOT have a retail location??? At least sell to a grocery store or something!  Again this is more about City Bakery rather than Mr. Lucky.

IF you have NOT yet tried Mr. Lucky I will add that first-timers get a FREE cookie. They're pretty good cookies.

I live 1/2 a block away from Mr. Lucky's and was a very regular customer.  WAS being the key word here.  We frequently order for delivery when we're feeling extra lazy and don't feel like walking.  It always comes in 10-15 minutes.

However, today after 35 minutes went by, I decided to call, just to make sure everything was okay with my order.  Who knows, maybe they wrote down the address wrong?? I was very polite on the phone.  Whoever answered the phone began to berate me.  "You ordered 35 minutes ago and you don't have your food?  This isn't Domino's.  This just blows me away..."  I told him I didn't think I deserved to be yelled at and as I was trying to explain, he hung up on me.  It is NEVER okay to treat customers like this.  EVER!  Never once did I raise my voice or speak in a rude tone.  I just don't understand this kind of customer service.  I was so angry that I made my husband call back and cancel the order.

Mr. Lucky's, you have lost a very regular customer.  You make sandwiches.  There's no cooking involved.  You can put a sandwich together in 30 seconds.  If you were incredibly busy when I made my order, all you had to do was simply tell me that it would take longer than usual.

Save your money and go elsewhere.  Customer service is a big part of the food industry and paying customers should never be treated in a manner like this.

I have given this place 2 tries and I'm just not into it. The last time I got a sandwich with avocado as one of its main ingredients and there was none, not even a trace. It was the reason I chose that particular sangwich so it was a bummer.

Otherwise I got the chicken salad and it was just kind of bland.

Seems like they are out of bread a lot too.

This review is only based on my recent cravings to get a good hot pastrami sandwich.

First visit: They ran out of pastrami.

Second visit: They ran out of BREAD. Isn't this a sandwich shop??

Third visit: Finally got my pastrami sandwich. It was decent, but not spectacular. Basically, they put cold pastrami slices and cheese on bread and ran it through their conveyor belt oven. When I think of hot pastrami, I picture piles of thick juicy slices swimming in it's own juices. While I wouldn't describe it as dry here, it is definitely not juicy and there's not a whole lot in there.

It just doesn't get any better than Mr. Lucky's. I absolutely love this place! Quick and friendly service plus outstanding sandwiches. My favorites are the Italian, the bird and basil, the santa fe and the avocado and almond. Oh, and the BLAT is great too. I hear that the mad cow is also amazing.

When I first started eating at Lucky's, I made a rookie mistake. I ordered my sandwich on whole wheat. Mistake! They make their own delicious sub bread and it is totally worth extra carbs and calories.

They've expanded now and there is room to sit down if you want to.

I've probably had at least 50 Lucky's sandwiches and I've loved every single one. Sometimes on the weekend, we make up excuses to go to Denver just so we can eat here.

I went here for the first time last week and got the WRONG sandwich. There were 4 people in the lobby and some guy just handed me a bag. Took it home and not even close to what I ordered. I called back 20 minutes later. "oh, sorry."
So went back today, because mistakes happen. No problem. I wanted a BLT with avocado and turkey......because of the extra meat, they wanted over $10.00 for a five inch sandwich? !!! I said, hell no! Why gouge the customer and people, why the 4 and 5 stars for this dump?

The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
It went perfectly with the tomato sauce, meatballs and sausage "50/50" sub.
    Super friendly service.

While recovering from a sprained ankle, I had to order a lot of takeout. A lot.  And I was lucky enough to find this gem not too far away from my house with great, fast delivery (free) and a cheap, tasty veggie sandwich (5 bucks) that I loved.

I have to say, I love the bread. Also, when I say, just a a little bit of mustard, only a little bit is added. They actually listen to their customers.  After I could walk, I stopped in to check the place out. It has a great little sitting area, the staff is friendly and fast, and it was clean.

The only thing: the chocolate chip cookies don't do it for me here. Not sure why, but they are only okay, not out of this world.

Holy God, this place is awesome. I had the chicken salad sandwich, and I have literally been craving it every day since I had it. My friends had the BLAT and the club, both of which were super delicious.

At first I wasn't so keen on not having whole wheat bread as an option (yep, I'm one of those people), but I really didn't care anymore after the first bite. The bread is amazing. I could probably eat like 20 loaves and still want more.

The staff is extra friendly - which I LOVE. I don't care how good the food is, if the staff is rude I will never go back. Luckily, I will definitely be visiting here again.

Oh! And I told them it was my first time in, and they gave me a free snickerdoodle! It was buttery and delicious.

Best chicken salad sandwich in Denver!!!

Very "cool" staff. They will chat with you and are very appreciative of your business! You even get a free cookie on your first visit.

Everything I've had so far is awesome!

    Pros: Fast friendly service
Cons: Don't call after 7:30- they aren't happy about delivering late, another con- they're only open until 8!

I just recently tried this place out and was very impressed.  Since moving to Denver in 2008, I've been searching for a solid SUB sandwich spot.  This one is definitely high on my list.

First off, I love their bread....their baguettes are just what I want for a sub.  Firm on the outside, soft on the inside.  I've tried 3 or 4 different sandwiches so far and all of them have been very solid.  They are well constructed with appropriate meat to veggie ratios.

Definitely a great spot that I'll be hitting up any time I am in the neighborhood.

Day drinking at Don's Mixed Drinks needed something before I could get started. I'm not super familiar with the area but saw that there was a sandwich shop next door so I went there first. "People love us on Yelp." Good sign.

They could tell I was a rookie by the way I was looking at the menu. I ordered a turkey sandwich with bacon. The guy behind the counter asked if it was my first time here. I said "yep". He said, "Great, have a cookie on us!" I declined so he offered me a bag of chips...that worked. I asked what kind of bread they had and he listed off a bunch, but the baguettes were staring me in the face so I went with that.

I killed that sandwich. It had no chance. It was delicious. Firm, soft bread. The right amount of ingredients. Perfect.

I may have to go back to that neighborhood just for a Mr. Lucky's Sandwich!

Mr. Lucky's has expanded! They bought the space next door, knocked out the wall and created themselves a little dining area. So now you can get your amazing sandwiches for there and enjoy them with your friends.

I personally like the BYOV - Build Your Own Vegetarian - sub because I can pile on all kinds of veggies from sprouts to jalapenos. But I can tell you that I've never had a bad sandwich from Mr. Lucky's.

This adorable little shop on 6th is delicious.....well, their sandwiches are....I haven't tasted any of the people there. Annnnnnyway, I stopped in there yesterday and got an Italian and it was pretty darn good.

I got a "Lucky's Card", and I will soon to be back to try a toasted sub :)

Things You Must Know About Lucky's Sandwiches:

    1.  Small place.  Not eating inside here.  Has a few stools if you HAVE to eat it there.  This is a pick up and go place.

    2. Locally owned.

    3.  Right on 6th.

    4.  Nice menu with some great specialty options so make sure you visit their website to know what you want beforehand.

    5.  All of there ingredients are extremely high quality.  This includes their veggies, bread, and meat (their bacon rocks).

    6. Sandwiches are expensive.  They are about 8 inches long.

    7. Average price is $7-$9 without drink or chips.

    8.  I would never pay this price usually, but the quality of their ingredients, including their bread, truly seperate them from their competion.

    9.  I wish they were a bit cheaper and this would be a hallmark of my diet.  Because they are not I eat here about once every 2 months.

It's a sandwich.  Yet, even a sandwich can get a five.  They are good recipes, absolute best value in the entire cap hill area, you can pick up, take out, eat in (if you are Lucky), and they have great sides.   They have everyone's favorite sodas to go, and now in cold weather, soup.

If you want anyting else, faghettaboutit.

Well, I didn't get lucky but I had a pretty satisfying sandwich at Mr. Lucky's this week. It's funny, because a sandwich isn't usually my first choice for lunch, but somehow I always end up ordering one. (I feel the same way about cookies as dessert items.) I ordered the Cali-Rado sammie and all I can say is it's huge - I finished the other half for breakfast this morning.

Note: if I were to become a regular, I'd phone in my sandwich order and then come pick it up. The shop is pretty small and gets crowded when there's just a few people in line. Just sayin'. Oh, they will also deliver to local office within a few mile radius. Score!

Picture me singing like an opera singer when I say this: "I loooooove this place!" Why an opera singer? I dunno.. because it's Sunday and I'm in a funny mood. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regular of this sammie shop.

The employees are cool as soon as you walk in. They greet you, make small talk and suggest their faves. You might need their help because there is a gang load of options on the menu. They offer sandwiches, wraps, salad, soup, chili!, chips, potato salad, brownies and cookies. You can even create your own sandwich. I hear if you name it they will put it in their menu! How about a Yelp Sandwich? Deeeelish!

I ordered the bird and basil which was served on a tomato basil wrap. The ingredients are turkey, basil cream cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts, cucumber and oil & vinegar. It was yummy. I also ordered a small chili and DAMN it was good! The manager/owner? also let me pick out one of their huge cookies because it was my first time in there! THANK YOU! How did he know I liked cookies? They have all of the regular flavors like egg, tuna and chicken salad, a pizza sub, french dip, meatball, and Reuben. One of the more interesting picks is the 6th avenue made with sliced roast beef, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, onion, Giardiniera peppers, chipotle mayo, and chipotle dressing. They even have a Frito Pie sandwich!

If you need sammies for your office, they do offer sandwich and dessert trays as well as box lunches. Delivery is available within 2 miles with a $10 minimum.

This is another fab find in Denver. I have to thank Tiffany and Nick again for letting me in on one of their favorite spots. Check it out yourself!

Mr. Lucky's serves up a great sandwich served on a lovely baguette.  I had the B.L.A.T. with a slice of cheddar and it was pretty darn good.  I would definitely go back to try some of their creative sandos but I was craving some bacon this particular morning.

The Calirado sounds amazing with ham, turkey, bacon, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, avocado, sprouts and sliced cucumber.  So does the Mad Cow with medium rare roast beef, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, spicy brown mustard and Lucky's Horseradish Mayo.

They cater and are open 7 days a week.  The customer service was great too.
