Paid a visit to Vermont for a quick weekend in the off-season. Â Loved it! Happened into Mulligan's. Â The huge 25oz Long Trail Beers were so refreshing and fairly priced. Â The frosted glass stayed frosted or at least cool for the entire drink. Â The bartender was old school and I appreciate that. Â Very knowledgeable. Â Crowd was lively and mixed ages. Â Tried the lobster roll - could've easily eaten another one it was so good but filling. Â Loved the jo jos or potato wedges that came on the side. Â Boyfriend had chicken parm and it was a huge portion. Â Great place, great find. Â Check it out.
Review Source:Mulligan's is your average pub with decent pub fare. I got a root beer float, which was sufficiently float-y, but weirdly lacking in root beer flavor. For appetizers, we ordered potato skins, wings, and mozzarella sticks. They were all good, but nothing special. For the entree, I ordered the lobster and asparagus quesadilla, which I enjoyed a lot - more creative than your average pub fare! The portions were generous, so we didn't have any room for dessert, but they all sounded very good.
Overall, a solid place.
People in Manchester seem to rave about this place, but really I don't think there is anything to rave about. Their food is terrible. I have had the hummus and guacamole wrap several times and it is still gross. "Let's just stick a half a cup of hummus on this wrap and call it vegetarian." I tried their veggie fajitas on a whim too, but was disappointed there as well. This is one of those places that you can easily pass up and not miss out on anything.
Review Source:Another year goes by bringing another ski season. We stopped in this establishment last year after are long journey from New Jersey. Having a favorable experience in the past we stopped in again. Good bar and big menu. My wife and I were not disappointed. I discovered that the owners also own Mulligan's pub in the Stratton Mountain Village. This Mulligan's is much better then the other establishment than shares the same name.
Review Source:Good place to stop for lunch on a rainy Saturday. We had struck out on being able to hike and enjoy the outdoors. Done with a bit of shopping we headed to Mulligans.
The hostess was awful to the bar staff, trying to sell tickets for the Belmont stakes.
Decent beer selection with a smattering of local stuff. With all the great beer in VT you'd think they could spread out a bit more.
Food was average at best, Reuben, perogies and a special sandwich of the day. The fries were pretty good.
Mulligans looks like a tired old run of the mill pub. (Although the green library lights at the bar are pretty awesome.) I wasn't expecting much, and was very pleasantly surprised. The cob smoked wings were amazing; tender, but with crispy skin and tasted like smoky bacon. So good. The chicken pot pie was also delicious. Tender homemade crust, and a hearty flavorful filling. You can tell everything is made with love here. The servers are also really nice.
Review Source:After a day skiing or shopping we've visited Mulligan's a couple times. Each time having a large group they have been pretty accommodating.
Onion soup is disappointing. For $8 I would have expected this to be much larger and filled with onions and a tastier broth. It was bland and unfullfilling.
My husband got the chicken fajitas ($15) and I got the steak and mushroom bake ($12). That was awesome! Meat in a delicious gravy with mushrooms topped with a mashed potato crust.
Our party of 11 seemed to enjoy their meals. The service was good. Food is good.
3 stars
We took our teenage kids to the place. I'm guessing the beer is fine, Â but for food...beyond poor. Â I'm not sure how you screw up food this bad. Â Wife had fish, couldn't finish it, nachos were decent but over baked. Son had a burger overdone and too much sauce. I had a greek salad with chix. Â The chix was like airline food...salad was ok, but overall really bad.
Review Source:I'm surprised by the mixed bag of reviews for Mulligan's... we had a pretty dang good meal here. Actually, the big thing holding me back from a higher-starred review was our rather expensive dinner check. (One hundred bucks for dinner for 2 adults and a teenager... at a bar... and the only alcoholic drink(s) were a couple of beers? Yup, a little steep!)
Dan had the Kobe beef burger, which was good, but not great. J. had fish and chips, which were gone before I even saw them, so they must have been tasty. I had the Long Island duckling, which was good, but a little overcooked, and I felt lacked a more flavorful sauce. (We had some really yummy wings to start, and the fries that accompanied the burger were soooo good!)
Very attentive and kind servers and waitstaff, and I would probably go back again, but try other things.
(3.5 stars for now.)
I tried Mulligan's on the advice of a local, in spite of 1 bad review here. Â
My wife and I sat in the dining room, rather than the tavern, and there were no tv's, just a nice oldies soundtrack. Â The parking lot was a tough go, though.
The menu was surprisingly large, and there was a good selection of bottled and draft beers, as well as reasonably-priced wines by the bottle or glass and even single-malt scotch whiskeys.
Most of the menu seemed to be very good value, although a serving of mussels was not. Â New England clam chowder was respectable, although mine had a little bit of grit. Â I think that if you are expecting haute cuisine, this is not the place for you. Â If you stick to basics, you'll do ok. Â The service was friendly and attentive.
I went to Mulligans with some clients because they insisted that it was not to be missed while I was in their hometown of Manchester, VT. Â My expense account and I were imagining some fancy shmancy place with mucho delicioso food (I was not aware that the place was a pub - I was only told to meet them at "Mulligans"). Â Fancy shmancy it was not and as for delicioso..well, it was so so. Â We went on a Tuesday night and it just so happens that Mulligans has all you can eat fajitas on Tuesday nights. Â For $11, you can eat chicken, shrimp and/or steak fajitas to your hearts content. Â The fajitas were pretty average but I only had the shrimp. Â The fajitas came with all the usual fixins including guac, which I love and it was surprisingly good. Â They also have margarita specials on Tuesday. Â I think they were $2.50 a piece and for that price, no alcohol can be turned down (the majority of the reason for the three stars). Â The service was pretty good and the waitress checked back on us several times during our dinner. Â The bill was less than $150 for six people. Â Not sure that I'll be in Manchester, VT anytime soon but if I am, I'm not sure I'll be going back to Mulligans.
