The food was quite good -- we had burgers and wraps.  The inside is dark and loud, but we sat outside for lunch and loved the south-facing deck.  The waitresses, uniformly young and pretty, are well-trained and attentive.  The only downside was the loud country music and the clientele, which smokes outdoors (who wants to eat next to smokers?!?) and looks pretty rough.  The Harley Davidson sign on the side of the building should have been a warning.

Hamburgers are awesome.  Wraps and salads huge and delicious.  Everything else is excellent.  I hope he brings this great concept to Niko's in Huntley.  We'd be there every night!

Not bad...but you can tell you're in Woodstock....Here's the rundown:

Food: The Cream of Broccoli soup was out of this world, The Fried Chicken was just OK (I have yet to find good fried chicken North of I-55...) My Wife's burger was WAY undercoocked (medium well practically bled) but was very tasty.

Atmosphere: Very clean, waitstaff very attentive and friendly...They had both kinds of music playing on the jukebox the entire time we were there.....Country AND Western....and the place looked like it was full of regulars....complete with camo huntin' caps, and one guy in a Cowboy Hat (I was raised to remove my hat in a building, but I recognize I'm in the minority in today's day and age).

That being said....we went there before we went to "Farm and Fleet" up the road-I guess I should have expected it.  In conclusion: Friendly, nice staff, clean place, decent food - I'd give it another try.

I loved it. Moved from Chicago a month or so ago. My folks live in WI so I have become partial by the Wisconsin Supper Club experience.

Red Mill fits the bill for me.

Down home, kitschy, unpretentious. No attitude. Great service. Lots of food, little price. What more do you want?

This is just another run of the mill pub with a horrible beer selection and average food. Bear in mind before going here that the only things on tap are Coor's products. The one shining star of this place is the service, it's fantastic. The sandwiches are a bit overpriced given the very mediocre quality of the food. The burger I ordered tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all. The fries were obviously the cheapest frozen brand the area has to offer. All in all it was just yet another average place that overcharged given the rather poor quality of the food.

The beef nachos and burgers are really good.  No hostess on a Tuesday night, we stood waiting for a few minutes not knowing what exactly to do before the bartender told us to just take a seat anywhere. The busboys  seem to be more attentive than the actual waitstaff, not that the waitstaff is terrible, but they seem a little inexperienced, and slow. Hopefully they will get better.

Our family had been unimpressed by what the Woodstock Square offered for good food and service by D.C. Cobbs and The Public House so when we ventured out to Red Mill Tavern, I was hoping for a place that could deliver on a few things that the others had missed, like decent service and well seasoned food. Note to the others Get a staff that cares, and maybe we can overlook the not so fresh food!
A Wednesday evening at around 8 we arrived  and were seated right away and I geuss wednesday's are karaoke. I didn't mind I was more excited to see the menu and taste the food. Holy cow. Soup came with our entrees that or salad but the staff said we would really like it. She was right. How often do you get that kind of enthusiasm out of wait staff? Not a long wait at all for our entrees to arrive after we completely finished the soup. 4 year old had chicken tenders and fries, 11 year old always has to get the burger. I tasted both and not only were my tastebuds pleased but both kids were excited to have a place they were comfortable in and have food that made them say "I think this should be our new place dad". Sometimes you'll get a decent burger from other places but the fries are just weak or sometimes it's the other way around. At Red Mill Tavern both were a Home Run.
My Wife had the Philly Steak which I also got to try which was on the specials from the easy to read menu. It was tasty and and not tough, a good portion too! Also from the specials I ordered the stuffed avacados. I still can't get over the presentation on this. It had tuna salad in a halved avacado already peeled, with sides of awesome potato salad, cottage cheese and even better coleslaw, I mean really, really good. I like to try every restaurants coleslaw. Topped with a few strawberries and the whole dish surrounded by cucumbers and tomatoes. I only could put down a quarter of the dish but am finishing the rest for lunch today or at least attempting to. It's a lot of food, and really good food.
The staff was polite, even the bus boy who asked us if we needed boxes was interested to find out if we were satisfied. We tipped well and the bill was only $40 for four entrees, one water, one soda, and two beers. We could not stop talking about how much better this was than what we had found in the woodstock square. Thank you Red Mill Tavern for reassuring my family and I that dining out in Woodstock CAN be a memorable experience and thanks for having a cook and staff that cares!

This place is solid every time we go here.
The burgers and the pizza are top notch- even though its a bar, it is friendly for kids.
A really nice addition to Woodstock's restaurant options.
And the Blood Mary specials are very good too.

Wow!  When we walked up to the back of this rustic looking restaurant, I immediately fell in love.  They have a large deck, complete with umbrella tables and an over sized wooden bar. I love dining al fresco at the first hint of Spring.

I was not expecting a gourmet meal when I joined my girlfriends here for lunch.   Granted- it was St. Patrick's Day and we had corned beef sandwiches- and well, there aren't many variations on that one.  But- the food was delicious.

The cheesy spinach soup could have made a meal.
The home made mayonnaise was a special touch. The selection of house wine made me happy- Pinot Noir by the glass will always score points with me : )

It's a charming place and I look forward to returning.  I also noticed some great specials on the menu- something about $5 burger and fries...hmmm
